Carry On

"Mommy kick the ball back!" Gracie yelled jumping all over the place. "Daddy go get mommy to get the ball back she's ignoring me!"

"Ren," I said approaching her. "You alright?"

"Y-yeah, just, the baby wants to play too" she fakely laughed.

"He hurtin' you sweetie?" I helped her sit down and I knelt in front of her, holding her hand.

"Yeah I'll be alright. Grays waiting, go play with her I'm gonna stay here"

"Alright" I kissed her head and left to carry on playing. "Mom's just sitting out"

"Fine" she huffed. I turned back to Renee, and she was bent over with her eyes squeezed shut together.

"Ren?!" I raced over and held her shoulders as she cried. "What? Is it happening or is it something else..?"

"I think it's happening. Just, get Gracie to moms house" she moaned holding her stomach tightly.

"Mommy whats wrong?"

I scooped Gracie up, and helped Renee to stand, before we got in the car and left.

"Alright Mrs Haner, you have an over night bag right?" the doctor asked.

"Y-yeah but it's can't happen yet, my husband goes away for a week in a few days, I have to wait for him"

"Sorry Mrs," she chuckled. "Baby can't wait forever. You'll probably have you're child very soon if everything goes to plan"

"No," Ren started to panic and cry. "I can't! My husband has to be here for everything"

"Instead of going for the week, I'll cancel my flight and just go the night I'm playing. It's only two days away and you can manage that"

"Oh god!! I'm Sarahs maid of honor on Friday!! My dress is a maternity dress, I can't go now and she's going to hate me, oh god. Please I can't have the baby now!!"

"We'll buy you a new dress sweetie. Just, we're having a baby today, please be happy"

"But-"

"Ren.."

"Fine, can we at least get it over with then?" she sighed.

"Mrs Haner, please try and relax. We'll get the little one out as soon as it's ready"
