Hostage

Sean’s POV

I arrived at the meeting point a little early and waited for the guys. I haven’t seen all of them while we did our observing, but I guess Johnny would bring Brian with him and the other I didn’t know personally anyway.
A black BMW was pulling up the driveway to our meeting point and I knew that this was Brian’s car.
Brian, Johnny and another guys with black hair climbed out and walked towards my car, I was driving a Van for this occasion. The Van belonged to Will. I asked him if I could use him and he agreed, since he had the night shift with Carl anyway, they wouldn’t be going anywhere.
This way we had no other car tracks that could make Carl and Will suspicious and I could transport all the guys as well as Alicia and Matt without having to use two cars.
“Hi.” Johnny walked towards me and held his hand out.
“Hey.” I shook his hand and looked at him and his friends.
They all looked exhausted and tired, exactly like me.
“I can’t tell you anything in details, or let me put it I won’t tell you anything in details. Let’s just get this over with, you get your friends and I… I will finally find an end in this nightmare.”
“Alright.” Brian nodded and held his hand out as well. “I’m Brian and we are grateful that you help us get our friends back.”
I shook his hand and did the same with the new guy who said his name was Zack.
“What is your plan? How will we get them out of there and in what conditions are they?!” Brian asked me and climbed into the Van’s passenger seat.
I sighed.
“I put sleeping pills into the food from… the abductors… and if everything works the right way, they should be asleep now… and sleep for at least 7 hours straight.”
“That’s good.” Zack nodded.
“But I need your help, when we get Matt and Alicia out of there, we need to make it look like they escaped… we need to… I don’t know break in a window… or something… it has to look like they escaped during their watch…”
“Or you will get into trouble?” Johnny asked and clapped my shoulder.
“Yeah… something like that.”
“We will help you, as soon as we got them safe in the car we will help you and then we will be out of there.” Brian nodded and I didn’t know if they were just so nice because they wanted their friends back so bad that they were afraid if they would they something wrong I wouldn’t get them their or if they really meant this honestly… I guess I would find it out soon enough.

Zack’s POV

We drove for another hour, I thought I knew everything from Huntington but I guess I was wrong.
I didn’t know if the guy was just driving around a while cause he wanted to confuse us or if this was really a route he had to make.
And maybe it just felt like it took so long, cause I couldn’t wait to get Alicia and Matt back.
All our friends had gathered in Brian’s home, waiting for us to return with them.
I just hoped we wouldn’t disappoint them and we would get our friends back.
“Alright, we are nearly there. We have to be quiet and I will go in first and check if they are sleeping… and after that I will get you guys to help me get Matt and Alicia out, one has to stay here at the van and see if someone is coming up…” Sean said and looked at us expectantly.
“I will stay in the Van.” Johnny said and Brian and I nodded at him.
“Good. I will drive over to the back of the hotel and I will come back in a bit to wave you over if it is clear.”Sean parked the Van and climbed outside.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Good.” Brian nodded and closed the door quietly behind Sean.
“Old Hotel, look at this, I didn’t even know that this still existed.” Brian looked around and I had to agree. I thought this Hotel was long closed and maybe even demolished or something.
“Shit, are you feeling as scared as me… I mean… what if Sean’s plan goes wrong and they wake up… or what if we are on our way and they will see us then?” Johnny asked and looked around.
“We have to take that risk. We want our best friends back, right?” Brian asked both Johnny and I nodded.
“Of course. Don’t question that.” Johnny replied. “I am just sayin, so many things can go wrong.. I mean..”
“Don’t think about these things, think that we will soon have Matt back.” Brian tried to soothe Johnny but I had another thought in my head.
“What do you guys think, will Matt still be… you know the same? I mean an abduction isn’t that easily forgotten, don’t you think?” I asked it out loud and both Johnny and Brian’s head snapped to me.
I saw Brian swallow hard, “Don’t… We shouldn’t speculate now… Let’s just get this done, everything else, time will tell.”
We waited in silence when I saw Sean walking towards us.
“There is Sean.” I pointed out of the front window and he opened the door wide.
“They are sound asleep, let’s go and hope they won’t wake up.” Sean motioned for us to follow him and Johnny stayed at the car.
I looked around and we tried to walk as quietly as we could behind Sean and not make any noise that could rouse the sleeping Abductors.

We were at the front door and Sean opened up and moved around the corridors and stairs until we must be in the back of the building, here we wouldn’t have found them even if we knew which hotel we had to look for.
Sean turned towards us when we arrived at the last two rooms to the left and held his finger to his lips.
He opened the first room and held a hand out to motion us back, there must be the room with the abductors.
Then he quietly closed the door and opened the last door on the left and walked inside.

Brian and I looked at each other a little helpless, should we just get in or wait? Was this a trap?
“It’s about damn time kid!” Matt voice sounded from the room and nothing could hold us back now, Brian was faster than me and ran into the open door now.
I followed on his heels and walked inside and saw Sean together with Matt and the girl, which I have seen on so many pictures from Caroline and heard so many stories from.
“BRIAN? ZACK?” Matt looked at us astonished and Brian ran to Matt and wanted to hug him but Matt held his chained hands out to him.
“Shit, we need to get rid of those…” Brian said but hugged Matt anyway.
I gave them a moment and saw Alicia with tears in her eyes, she looked at Matt and Brian hugging and I walked to her.
“Alicia? I am Zack. Caroline and Bradley are waiting for you, they were really worried.” I told her with a small smile.
“Oh my god, you had contact with them. I missed them so much. Can I? I mean.. I need to…” Alicia fumbled with her arms and then finally hugged me and I had to smile.
I let go of her and finally also greeted Matt and hugged him, it felt good to see he was alive and kickin’.
“Didn’t you listen, we need to hurry. It’s enough of this… you can all welcome everybody back, when you are out of here.” Sean said and he was right, we should hurry to get out of here.
“I prepared something, for the case you wouldn’t show up.” Matt said and motioned to the window front of the small hotel room.
“Perfect.” Sean looked at the window and I frowned.
“Perfect?” Brian frowned as well.
“Normally the windows are completely shut down with wooden planks.” Sean walked over and pulled on the wood and one of the planks came down.
Brian and I helped him with the other and the window was suddenly half free.
“I couldn’t open the window it’s nailed up, so we have to break the glass.” Matt said and looked at Sean.
“Yes, we need to break the glass… We need to make it quick and quiet as possible. Then take all the things you need, after that we are out of here.” Sean said and I grabbed the blanket from the bed and Matt took the trashcan from the floor and with one swift move he threw it into the window and the glass shattered loudly to the floor… I laid the blanket over it, this way it looked like they had climb out of there.
We all stood in silence for a good minute, waiting if there would come a reaction from the room with the abductors.
But nothing…
“Matt, Alicia? You got everything? Johnny is waiting outside. Go ahead, I will have a last look at the.. Abductors and will follow you quickly.”
“Alright.” Matt nodded and took Alicia’s hand and we all hurried out of the hotel and back to the Van.
