Chapter 21

~Jess's POV~

It's been about a month since I last saw Brian and the guys. Apparently, the tour is very successful. They are selling out huge arenas to thousands of kids each night. I even saw a picture of Brian in some bar with the guys and he looked so happy; so alive. I miss him so much.

He calls me as much as he can. After the show, he'll call. Before a show, he'll call or during the middle of the night. I try and answer all of them, but I've been busy also. I looked at some cribs and clothes and I'm starting to design the nursery. My stomach is more than evident now, even when I try to wear a baggy shirt or sweatpants.

"Jessica?" Brian Sr. called out.

"Up here!" Boots thudded against the wooden floor, much like Brian's. The sound made me sad.

"There you are. I was wondering if you would like to go and have dinner tonight, just me, you, and Suzy? Suzy wants to talk to you about the nursery or whatever. So what do you say, kiddo?" Brian Sr. and his son were so alike in so many ways, though neither of them believed it. They both had the same nose, the same musical talent, the same humor, and they both were goofballs.

"Yeah sure. Right now?" He nodded. "Okay well let me get my purse and I'll be right on down."

"Don't take too long." Brian Sr. smirked at me. I looked at him suspiciously. He was hiding something.

I changed from my short cuts and over sized t-shirt, to some leggings and a maternity top. I brushed through my hair and applied some lip balm, along with some mascara. Satisfied with my look, I made my way down the stairs. There was someone standing at the door, but I already knew it was Brian Sr.

"I hope we aren't going to some fancy restaurant. I look like shit." I grabbed my purse and checked my phone, not looking at the man standing there.

"You always looks gorgeous, Love." My head shot up at that voice. The voice I only heard over the phone. The voice that put me to sleep when I missed him so much, I would cry. "Hey, baby."

I dropped whatever I had in my hands and tried to run towards him, but my belly was too big. So, I walked towards him, my hand over my mouth.

"Is it really you?" My vision began to blur because of the tears forming.

"In the flesh."He smiled that breathtakingly beautiful smile, the one I loved. Once I reached him, he pulled me into a loving kiss. "I missed you so much, Love. How are you and Mel doing?" His hand rubbed my stomach. Just then, I felt a pressure and some pain.

"Agh!" I pushed his hands way and cradled my belly. A pressure hit the side of my stomach, then it disappeared and then reappeared.

"What's wrong? Is the baby okay?!" Brian frantically asked me.

"Give me your hand." He was hesitant, but he did. I placed his hand on the underside of my belly, where the baby was kicking frantically as if she knew that her dad was back. She was happy too.

"Oh my god." I could see the tears slowly drip down his face, which made me break into a grin. "Hi baby girl. It's me. It's Daddy. I'm home. I missed you too. I love you so much. I can't wait to meet you baby girl."

We stood there for a while, talking to Mel. I felt complete once again.

"How long are you back? How did you even get here? I thought you were still on tour."

He just smiled and said, "I needed to come back. So we have like a week off and the guys and gals decided to stay. I took the next flight to Orange County and here I am. I couldn't stay away from my girls any longer." I stood on the tips of my toes and kissed him.

"What about dinner with your parents?" I said between breaths.

"We can rain check with them because right now, I want to stay in with my girls." Brian said throatily against my lips, kissing me deeply.

"Well shit son, you could have told us you were going to be busy. We'll be going now." Brian Sr. had his hands covering his eyes as he fumbled with the doorknob, trying to close it. "God, it's still gross seeing my son do that. Nasty." He grumbled. Brian and I rolled our eyes and laughed at Brian Sr.

"That guy does not know when to leave or stop talking. He's so dramatic. Anyways, let's watch a movie." He lifted me up bridal style and carried me into the living room and laid me on the couch. I thought I would be really heavy, but it didn't seem to bother Brian at all. He still moved with such ease.

"I've missed you so much." Brian kissed the top of my head.

"I missed you too." Just then, my stomach growled and I giggled. Mel was hungry.

"Is my baby girl hungry? Well how about some Chinese take out?" Mel kicked inside me like crazy.

"I think that's a yes." I gasped. Brian placed a chaste kiss on the corner of my lips and walked into the other room to place the call. My face was beginning to hurt from the grin that was on my face. Brian is back, but only for a while. I pushed that thought back and decided to only focus on Brian being back right now.

"Okay, so I placed the order. Would you like to come with me to go pick it up?" I shook my head no and he frowned. "Please? I want to spend every second with you before I go back." I rolled my eyes at him but got up from the couch where he placed me and followed him outside.

The ride to the restaurant was soothing. The smile I had on my face never left. I was so happy that Brian was back, even if it was for a few days.

Brian sat in the drivers seat, placing the food on the console, then grabbing my hand. "I love you, Jess."

"I love you too, Bri." He kissed my knuckles and pulled out of the parking space, cruising back to the house. "You know, I started on the nursery. I know we were supposed to decide on it together but I had to keep myself busy. I didn't want to sit around and be miserable while you were gone."

"Well I can't wait to see it." Relief washed over me. I was worried that he would be a little bit upset about not being able to help shop for Mel. "Did you get clothes too?"

"Yeah. I found the cutest top ever and Val ordered a onesie for Mel and shipped it to the house. It's so adorable." I smiled brightly. Everything seemed perfect once again.
I laid back in the seat, smiling to myself and running my hand over my belly. Brian was home. Mel kicked for the first time. I couldn't stop the face-splitting grin on my face from getting bigger.

Without me even realizing it, we were back at home. Our home where we would raise our children.

"You know you should really just sell your apartment because you live here already. I don't see the point in you paying for something you don't use." Brian said, shrugging his shoulders and tossing the car keys onto the table.

"I don't know, I've had that apartment since I moved here and it's been my home. Maybe one day I will." I smacked my lips.

I watched from the sofa as Brian moved around the kitchen gracefully, getting plates and other things. I am hopelessly in love with Brian. I don't think I will ever find anyone like him.
Everything is perfect about him. I love his nose. I love his voice. I love his guitar playing. I love his tattoos. I love his horrible sense of humor. I love his hair. I love the beautiful honey glow in his eyes when the sun hits it just right. I love his hands, God do I love his hands. I love his smile. I love everything about Brian.

"Penny for your thoughts?" I flushed and looked down, picking at an imaginary piece of lint on the couch. I looked up and he was smirking at me.

"I was just thinking about what I love about you." I said, barely above a whisper.

"And what do you love about me?" He smirked and tried to keep a serious face, but was failing miserably. I knew he was doing this on purpose to embarrass me.

I glared, but the adorable look on his face made me smile. "I love absolutely everything about you, Brian Elwin Haner Jr."
"And I love every single part of you, Love." I smiled widely at him and he did the same.

"You know, we should really go visit your family because in a few months, Mel will be here. I want both of our families to be there when she born." Brian said, walking over to the couch with 2 plates in one hand and 2 bottled waters. "Oh, and I forgot to tell you, I've been trying to stop drinking and smoking."

"I think that'd be a good idea. I at least want my mom and dad to meet their granddaughter even if they don't approve of us." I shrugged my shoulders. Brian nodded in a agreement and walked over to the tv, looking at the movies. "And that's really sweet of you. Is it hard to do that while on tour with the guys and they are drinking and smoking?"

"Surprisingly, it's a lot easier than I thought. I still do have a few beers and a few cigarettes but I don't get shit-faced like I used to. I figured that I need to grow up because I have to take care of my daughter and my soon-to-be-wife." My heart swelled up as I chocked back tears. Brian actually really does want to spend the rest of his life with me and I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with him.

"I love you, Brian. I think I love more than anything." I said, getting up and walking over to him, cradling my belly. "And Mel loves you too."

"I love you too. And I love you, Mel. I can't wait to meet you in a few months, my little princess." He kissed me sweetly. "Come on. Let's eat. I'm starving."

We walked back into the kitchen with our plates and drinks. We sat down on the couch and watched some random movies that were on tv until it was the evening.

"Can I go check out the nursery? And that onsie you said Val sent?" He asked me. I stood up and took his hand, walking up the stairs and into the bedroom that was next to ours. I turned on the light and the room lit up.

There was a brown crib in one corner of the room with a matching changing table. In the other corner was a white rocking chair and beside that was a white dresser that already had some of her clothes. Above her crib, I had Brian Sr. paint her name above it in purple and black pinstripe, just like her dads guitar. I stood by the door as I saw Brian move around the room with a smile.

"This is fucking awesome. I love how you painted her name in purple and black pinstripe. So fucking cool." I laughed and walked towards him.

"Thank you. I had your mom and dad help me with it." I wrapped my arm around his torso as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "And you really need to stop cussing. Mel is going to come out with the mouth of a sailor."

"There will be none of that. Nope. I won't have it." Brian gave me a goofy grin. "And no boyfriends. She can date when shes 40." I rolled my eyes at him. He's going to be so overprotective of our daughter.

"Where's that onsie you keep talking about?" He asked. I walked over to her dresser and pulled out a small black onsie.

"Here. I really think it's cute. Tell her I said thank you." Brian took the small black fabric from my hand and opened it. Right when he opened it he laughed loudly.

"My daddy is better than yours. He's Synyster Gates." He read outloud. "This is so cool!"

We looked through more clothes and some other stuff I got until I was about to pass out because I was so tired. We made it to the bedroom and laid down on the bed.

"Night Jess. I love you."

"Goodnight, Bri. I love you so much."
