Chapter 19

~Third Person~

The next morning, the two awoke and still hadn't said anything about the fight they had last night. Jess had a huge cloud of guilt over her head but she refused to apologize to him even though she knew she had overreacted about the whole thing. Truthfully, she was scared of him leaving her for some groupie while he was away. She knew how the guys acted on tour. They were free and did as they pleased. That's what scared her the most.

Brian was still furious with the way Jess reacted. He was also hurt by her words and how she actually thought that he would cheat on her. So, he was avoiding her so that they wouldn't have another pointless argument.

"Do you still need help with your packing?" Jess's voice startled Brian, who was sitting at the edge of the bed with his head in his hands.

"Sure."

Jess could hear the hostility in his voice but shook it off and walked into their closet to fetch some shirts. The two not talking was killing the both of them, but their egos wouldn't let either of them speak their true feelings.

"I called my dad and told him that you were going to be here while we are on tour and I told him to check in on you from time to time, ya' know, to make sure your comfortable and safe." Brian muttered. Jess felt her heart tighten at how distant and cold he was being, but she understood why. It still hurt her though.

"Okay." Jess finally muttered. The two walked around the room, grabbing clothes and other things he would need on tour, not saying a word.

"Are you taking your Nikes or your boots?" Jess held up his shoes, the Nikes in one hand and the boots in the other.

"Nikes. The boots are uncomfortable after a while." Jess nodded and placed the shoes on the floor, by his duffel bag.

"Okay. Looks like your all ready to leave." Jess didn't mean to make it sound so mean, but it id and she could hear Brian sigh loudly though his nose. She knew he was trying not to lose his cool.

"Just fucking stop already." Brian yelled, startling Jess with his sudden outburst. "I'm going on tour and you're not going. Get the fuck over it. The reason why you aren't going with me is not that I don't want you to because believe me, I want you to go with me so that I can see our baby grow, but because it's not the best timing. If you weren't 4 months pregnant, I wouldn't hesitate to take you with me, but you are. I'm only thinking of my girls."

Jess had tears stinging her eyes, but she quickly swallowed them. She knew he was right, but she couldn't shake off her insecurities.

"I'm afraid of you cheating on me and leaving us." Jess whispered with her head hanging in shame.

"Jesus fucking Christ, Jessica," Brian sighed and ran his hands down his face. He walked over to her and took her face in his hands, forcing her to look up at him,"Quit thinking like that. I love both of you more than anything and it would be stupid of me to screw up something so great for a fucking groupie. That would be like trading in a diamond for a cheap, plastic ring."

"You don't know that. What if some busty blonde comes by and fucks your brains out? And you finally do leave us." By now, Brian was furious again. He could feel rage pump through his veins with every breath he took. Jess immediately wanted to take back what she said.

"How many times do I have to say this, Jessica? Look at me." Jess continued to play with an imaginary string on her sweater. "I said look at me" Brian walked back over to her and tilted her head up.

"I will never ever do something like that to you. I will never leave you and my daughter for a busty blonde, who probably does has a great rack." He joked. Jess smiled and slapped his arm. "But I'm serious. I am crazy in love with you. What more do I have to do to prove to you that I am 100% completely devoted to you and only you? Is asking you to marry me not enough? I will do anything for you, you know that."

Jess finally let her walls fall down and crumble into millions of pieces. She hugged him, wrapping her arms and legs around him. Brian smiled and buried his hands into her dark brown hair, kissing her head.

"I love you too and I'm so sorry or being a bitch about everything." Brian didn't even care about what she had to say. All he wanted to do was kiss her and hug her as many times as he can before he leaves tomorrow. "I'm just so worried about you cheating."

"Don't be, please. You don't have to worry because no woman out there can compare to you. That's why I'm marrying you." Brian reassured her once more. "Okay no more of this, let's have a good day today. What are is my child craving?" Jess immediately perked up and kissed him once more.

"Ice cream and strawberries." Brian smiled and pulled her into his chest, hugging her tightly, but not to tight because he didn't want to hurt the baby. The tension in the air left just as fast as it appeared. No more hostility in their voices.

"Well since all of the packing is done, why don't we go get frozen yogurt and spend the day driving around and listening to music? We can even go stargazing tonight. How does that sound, babe?" Brian got on his knees and lifted up the baggy sweater she was wearing and lightly kissed her stomach. Jess ran her fingers through his hair and smiled.

Jess felt stupid for even thinking that Brian would cheat on her. She knew how much he loved her. While Brian was kissing her baby ump, Jess wondered what she did to deserve such a wonderful man. And what luck she had to say that they were starting a family together.

"Come on, let's get going. We are burning daylight here." Brian placed the black sweater back over her bump and stood up. A huge smile was on Jess's face and he couldn't help but smile back. "Why do you wear such baggy clothes? You should wear a regular shirt so that everyone can see your bump."

"I'm scared of your fans. In case you haven't noticed, they are vicious. You should read some of the stuff they say about me. I don't want pictures of pregnant me all over blogs. Use your head, Haner." He smirked at her. Jess blushed at the thought. "You know what I meant, you pervert."

"Whatever. Let's go." Brian grabbed her hand and led her out the door and to the black Cadillac. "Alright, Mrs. Soon-to-be-Haner, what would you like to listen to? The first CD is your choice."

"What about, The Wild Boys by Duran Duran?" Jess smiled because she knew he didn't like listening to that song. He was embarrassed. A hint of pink slowly appeared on his cheeks as he put the CD in. "Awwe, I can see you dancing along to this. I should really get that photo of you when you were re-enacting Wild Boys from your dad." She teased.

"Don't you dare woman. I told him to burn that photo." Jess laughed loudly at Brian. She pictured a little boy with brown hair and the cutest nose ever, swinging from his closet and falling on the floor, screaming Wild Boys at the top of his lungs. Jess could see his mom running in while his dad was laughing his ass off and taking a photo of little Bri. The thought made her smile.

"Here we are. Let's go get some yogurt for little Mel."

"Mel?" Jess questioned as they walked into the shop together.

"Yeah. It's short for Melody. I really like Melody Jaime Haner as her name so I already thought of a nickname for her." Brian kissed her cheek and looked back up at the menu of flavors.

Brian was so excited for his baby girl to arrive. He wanted nothing more to stay behind and watch Jess and Mel grow. He wanted to be there for Jess every step of way, but he couldn't and that hurt him so much.

The two ordered their yogurt and sat down at one of the tables, silently eating. The weather was perfect for October. The sun was shining and the air was warm, perfect for a day at the beach.

"You know I was thinking, we could put the nursery in the room that is across from ours. I only have a few boxes and empty guitar cases in there." Brian said, taking a spoonful of vanilla frozen yogurt into his mouth.

"That sounds like a good idea. We can paint it pink or purple, but pink would be better with the brown crib set I want to get. What do you think?" Jess asked Brian.

"I think that as long as you're happy with whatever color, then I don't really are. And Mel can't say anything about it." Brian only cared about his girls' happiness. Whatever they want, he'll get.

"You're too good for me, honestly."

~Later that evening~

~Brian's POV~

Today was perfect. We drove around all day, listening to Iron Maiden, Pantera, and other bands. Now, we are at the beach.

"Let's go for a walk." I told Jess as I reached in the back seat for my jacket and a blanket to lay on.

"It's going to be cold."

"Oh come on, don't be a pussy. Here- take my jacket." I laughed at Jess and threw my jacket at her.

"You ass." She playfully stuck her tongue out and I leant over the console, taking her tongue in my mouth and sucking gently. She moaned and deepened the kiss, tugging at the ends of my hair. A feeling of euphoria pulsed through my body as she tugged at my bottom lip. Our tongues danced together as we continued our little make-out session. To much of my disappointment, she pulled away before things started to get more heated.

"Walk."

"Oh right, let's go."

It was dark out, but the stars were shining brightly. The air was warm so it was useless bringing my jacket for Jess because she wasn't even using it. After walking past a few couples and teens, we finally found a spot and laid the blanket down on the sand. Jess and I laid down on the blanket, her head on my chest as my warm was wrapped around her and one tucked behind my head as a pillow.

"I'm going to miss you, Bri." Jess whispered, her fingers tracing imaginary patterns on my chest.

"I'm going to miss you and Mel so much. Please don't think that I don't want you on tour with me. I just want you safe and comfortable at home." I said and she tightened her grip around me. I did the same.

"I know. I just want you to be with us all the time." She sighed.

"It's my job, love." I ran my fingers through her hair, down her spine, and onto her hip. I was trying to memorize every inch of her body before I left.

"Yeah." I could tell she didn't want to talk about it anymore so I changed the subject.

"I had a lot of fun today."

"I did too, but now I kind of want to fuck your brains out as many times as I can." My pants immediately tightened around my groin and I scooped her up, running her back to the car.

"The blanket."

"Fuck the blanket. I'm taking you home to make love to you."

"Well okay then." She giggled.
