Not a bad thing

I heard people coming into the restrooms. The noise was getting louder. The concert must have ended. I needed to get out of here and find Lynn. It didn’t take me long to find her. When I opened the door, she stood there waiting for me, looking at me curiously. “So Iz, let’s get your precious car home, call a cab and go to a bar and get drunk. You have a lot to tell me” She put her arm around me and guided me back to my car. My beautiful beetle was waiting for us. It had been in storage for a long time, but I picked it up as soon as I moved back to Huntington Beach. I just loved it, driving my car calms me down.

That was what I needed now too, so I got behind the wheel and drove us home. Lynn was calling a cab in the meantime, making sure it would be ready to go when we got home. I parked my car in my garage and got into the cab with Lynn. The driver already got instructions from her and he was driving us to this big club. Lynn and I had no problem going in, because the bouncer was a friend of hers. He pulled her towards him and whispered something in her ear. Her face fell first and then a little smile graced her face. “What is it?” I asked her. “Nothing babe, Tom was telling me something funny. Let’s get in. He saved us a nice place”

We got in and found the spot that Tom had placed a little “reserved” sign on. It was a nice table which looked out on the entrance and dance floor, but was secluded a little so we could have a normal conversation. As soon as we sat down, tequila shots and beers were arriving at our table. I saw Tom winking at us from his spot at the door. I nodded at him. Nice! I wanted to get drunk, get this night behind me. I downed a shot, hoping I would soon forget that I had no clue of what to do next. Lynn looked at me. “Okay, no more slacking. Spill it”. I started to talk, I told her everything. From us being kids, the first sniper job, Brian being my best friend, Chris, Katie, the party, our short relationship and the last time I saw Brian and Jimmy. By the time I was finished I had downed 4 more shots and drank 5 beers too. Lynn was looking at me with her mouth open and eyes wide open. “Ow my god Iz, I now understand that you looked so sick. What a story!” She ordered two more beers and two more shots and gave me a hug . I suddenly noticed a lot of fuss at the entrance. A few big men came in, followed by a bunch of girls... What was going on there?

Brian’s POV
The concert in our hometown tonight was amazing. The crowd went wild. It probably had been one of our best shows ever. It was always hard to hear Jimmy’s voice in ‘Fiction’ though. I know the crowd wants to hear it, but they don’t understand how it is for us, every single time. I needed to get drunk fast.

Because it was the last concert before a few month holiday we decided to go to a club, celebrate a little. Matt called one of his friends who was a bouncer at this big club in town and got us a table there. “Lizzy! Are you coming too?” I was looking for my best friend, calling out to her. She had to be here somewhere. “Of course I will, wouldn’t miss it for the world”. Elisabeth came out of the room next to our dressing room and walked into my arms. “You were amazing tonight. Are you ok?” She looked at me with a worried face and kissed my cheek. She then moved to the side of my body and waited for me to put my arm around her shoulder. As I pulled her close again I kissed the top of her head “Yeah, I will be. I need to get drunk fast and I need to get rid of Jessica. She is coming to the club too, could you please do it tonight Liz?” Lizzy looked at me and sighed a little. “Come on Brian, really? Tonight?” We started to walk to the car. I had enough of Jessica. She was dating Synyster Gates. I felt so tired keeping up the part. Not able to be myself around her. All these girls just wanted Gates, not Haner. I didn’t even want to give them Haner. I had my heart broken, I learned my lesson. So now I was just Gates, and girls were disposable to me. Elisabeth helped me with that. She was my sniper 2.0. She wasn’t just good at the breaking up part, the hooking up part I can trust her with too. How cool was that, so much better than the first version of my sniper. I shook my head to get rid of the thoughts. No Brian, don’t go there, you will feel even more miserable.

We got into the car. I saw Zacky running towards us “Can I drive with you?”. “Sure. Lizzy, move over”. I felt Lizzy move uncomfortably under my arm as Zacky sat down next to her. I suspected she liked Zacky and I knew for a fact that Zacky was eyeing her all the time. Zacky would just wanna fuck her, just like all the other girls around him. I couldn’t let him do that to Lizzy. I would lose my sniper and my best friend if he hurt her and it got weird between them. And even if he would be serious, which wasn’t likely, I needed Elisabeth for myself. I felt a little like an ass, to not help Elisabeth, or tell her she shouldn’t like Z, but I didn’t care enough at this moment, I put my own needs first.

Johnny, Arin and Matt will be driving in the other car, going first, because Matt knows the way. All the others, crew and groupies will go there on their own.

Arriving at the club, I saw a lot of girls standing there. Luckily for us, our security guys were also already there. They guided the girls in and then came back to get us. Matt shook the bouncer’s hand “Thanks for hooking us up Tom”. The bouncer smiled “No problem Matt, it’s really good for business if you guys are inside. I saved you a table, just let our waitress here bring you there”. We followed the waitress to a little private room where everything was set for us. Beers and shots were already standing on the table. I immediately downed a shot and a beer, this night was going in the right direction pretty fast.

I was already a few beers deep when I noticed Jessica coming in. She ran towards me, kissed me and instantly pulled me towards the dance floor “Dance with me Syn?”. I walked to the dance floor with her. This would soon end anyhow, I could better enjoy myself for now. I looked at Lizzy while I walked away and held up 1 finger. One dance and then do it. Lizzy seemed to understand and nodded, still listening to Johnny telling her some kind of story, laughing at the anecdote. Jessica was grinding my body, while dancing to some r&b song. Not really my kind of music, but you wouldn’t hear me complain about the way it made her move. Maybe I should do her one more time. Just take advantage of the fact that she wanted to fuck Synyster Gates. The song came to an end and I decided to take Jessica away and find a private spot and give her a Synyster Gates goodbye special. As soon as I took Jessica’s hand and turned around I bumped into Lizzy. I would never be able to convince her of my plans, and I needed to get rid of Jessica tonight. Damn, such a shame of a perfectly decent fuck. I let go of Jessica’s hand as I heard Lizzy say “Jess, we need to talk, let’s go outside for a bit.”Jessica looked at me confused. Lizzy and I were discrete, no one outside of our little crew knew what we were doing. I couldn’t have it, not now I’m a rockstar. People would start to talk. I walked back to our table, glancing at Jessica and Lizzy, walking for the door. Glad that’s done, on to the next. I started scanning the room to see if the next mrs. Gates was here.

Izzie’s POV
My heart fell when I noticed that the commotion at the door was because Avenged Sevenfold came in. I know I needed to talk to Brian, and this would be my chance. But was I really ready to see him again? Talk to him? I didn’t know. If I wanted to talk to him, I had to do it now, I might not see him again for a long time. I moved back to Huntington Beach almost a year ago and I never even knew Brian was still here. Lynn looked guilty. “Oh! You knew this! That was what Tom told you when we got in”. She nodded “At that moment I wasn’t really planning anything, but I heard the whole story now and I really think you need to talk to him. You feel terrible about this, I think there are a few things you need to clear between you two.”

I looked at her. I know I’m not really sober at the moment, and she isn’t either, so how could she still be so reasonable? I glanced at the room where I had seen the band disappear. A girl with long blond hair was running towards the room and only seconds later I saw her coming out, dragging Brian to the dance floor. She started grinding him and he didn’t really seem to mind. Him being there gave me a good chance to have a better look at him. He even got more handsome. His hair was longer and in some kind of long Mohawk. It looked good on him. Even though he got older, I could still see my Brian in there, but he looked sad. He tried to hide it, but I could still read him like the back of my hand. The song almost ended and I saw another woman coming from the private room. She had long dark hair and she looked tough. “Lynn, who are those girls with Brian?” Lynn looked over to the dance floor, trying to figure out who I was talking about. “I don’t know about the blonde, maybe the Mrs. Gates of the moment? The dark haired one is Elisabeth. She’s always hanging out with the band, probably a good friend of Brian, they are often seen together. Nobody really knows what she does with them.” As I looked over to the dance floor again, I saw this Elisabeth and Brian exchange a look, before she took the blonde outside. “I know what she’s doing with them. Or better said for him. She is sniping, she is the new me.“
