Wolf Pack
Training Day
Today unfortunately is the start of mine and Corey's training day. We had gotten our ability to control our phasing and I was really grateful for no more horrific pains. Matt had woke us both up early and we ate breakfast before he had us the gym in the basement working out. I am currently running on the tread mill while Corey is on the other one. I could hear the guys in the next room beating on something.
"So how long does this usually last?" Corey asked.
"I don't know Corey. This is my first training day too." I looked down and I had ran the miles Matt had told me to do and I shut off the machine. I looked over at Corey's and he had another 2 miles left but he would finish in no time. I sat down on the bench and grabbed some water before Corey's buzzer went off and he got off the tread mill. He came over and sat down beside me.
"You never told me what happened to your face."
"Oh um...I had changed here at the house and I ran out into the woods and killed an animal but Brian wanted the first pickings and I wouldn't have any of it so we kind of fought. Don't worry I'm alright." I said smiling. Matt came into the room and I stood to my feet.
"Don't worry Aerial you can sit." he said smiling. I sat back down and drank some more water.
"Corey come with me. You'll be training with Jimmy today. Aerial, Zacky will be in here in a few minutes. I'm giving you some time to rest before you start training with him." Matt said and I nodded. I was really too out of breath to answer him and I'm guessing he could see that from the way he nodded right back and left the room with Corey. I finished off my water and grabbed another bottle as Zacky came into the room.
"Aerial we want you to do some lifting. You up for it?" Zacky asked and I nodded as I took a drink. We went over to the weight room and he started me out light but by the time I was finished I was lifting over 200 pounds. I sat up from bench pressing and Zacky handed me some water. I was so exhausted. Soon the training came to an end and when I got up to the kitchen I seen the time was 10 at night and I sighed. I walked up the stairs and opened my bedroom door and Corey was sitting on the bed with his shoes on.
"You going somewhere Corey?" I asked.
"I was just wondering if you could go outside with me and walk around for a while."
"I guess we could. I'll have to ask Matt first." I said and he followed me out of the room and down to the kitchen where Matt was standing.
"Hey Matt...Can Corey and I go out for a walk?" I asked and he nodded.
"Just be back no later than 3 am. If you don't I'll come find you." I nodded and we headed outside. I phased and waited on him to as well. When he phased he was a beautiful brown and black wolf. We ran off into the woods playing like little pups. I seen his ears perk up and he ran off. I followed him until a clearing where a grizzly bear stood eating on a carcass. Corey jumped out of the clearing.
"Corey get back here." I said into his head.
"I can take him."
"No you can't. Now get back over here before it sees you.'' I said and before I could grab him he started growling at the bear and it got its attention. The bear stood up on its hind legs and started growling. I jumped over to Corey and tried to push him back up he could listen to me. He jumped on the bear's back and started biting it. The bear bit down on Corey's back and slung him down to the ground. I jumped and the bear knocked me off my feet and my back hit the ground and I laid there watching as the bear mauled my best friend.
"Matt help us..." I said in my mind hoping he would hear it. I laid there and closed my eyes and I could feel the bear sniffing me and then hear it running away. I opened my eyes and gently got to my feet and limped over to my friend. He wasn't moving or breathing and I laid there next to him until I passed out.

I looked up at the clock and it was 3:30 in the morning and they haven't gotten back yet. I looked at the guys.
"Guys lets go. We need to find Corey and Aerial." I said and they all got up and followed me out the door. We walked out into the yard and phased before walking into the woods. I breathed in the air and got the unmistakable smell of wolf blood. I ran full speed with the guys right behind me. I stopped and seen Aerial laying on her side right beside Corey. The smell of blood getting stronger. I started running again and I stopped right in front of Aerial. Corey's belly was spit open and he was mauled. I didn't have any scent of another wolf but a grizzly bear. I nudged Aerial with my nose and she didn't respond to me. Zacky came up to Aerial and he nodded his head before putting her on my back.
"Jimmy run back to the house and get a big enough sheet to put over this body." I commanded and he ran off into the woods back towards the house. In less than 2 minutes Jimmy came back with a sheet on his back. Brian, Zacky, and Johnny helped Jimmy lay out the sheet onto the ground and roll Corey's body onto the sheet and wrap it up.
Brian took the ends into his mouth and drug his body through the woods back to the house. I took the steps carefully as I went into the house and up to her room. I laid her down on the bed as Zacky cleaned her wounds. I phased back to a human and sat down next to her.
"What the hell happened Zacky?" I asked and shrugged.
"I'll ask her in the morning." I said before I walked out of the room and over to mine. I laid down in bed and was so upset at myself. If I hadn't let them go out, they would be alright. I rolled over onto my side away from the door and closed my eyes and slowly went off to sleep.
