Am I too Lost to be Saved?

Johnny’s phone kept going off and it’s almost past 1:30. Other than Jimmy, who the hell in their right mind would be calling in the middle of the Goddamn night? I rolled over, facing the edge of the bed, debating on whether or not I should reach over and answer it myself.
‘buzz, buzz, buzz… buzz, buzz, buzz… buzz, buzz, buzz…’

I rolled my eyes and turned over to Johnny. “Babe,” I said.
Johnny grunted and stretched as I continued to giggle and poke his stomach. “Hmmm…” he moan sleepily, but after a minute, he fell asleep again.
I laughed and kiss his face, then got up and grabbed his phone.

5 missed calls from Sanders
2 missed calls from Jimmy Fag:D
2 missed call from Heaven

”What the fuck,” I thought. “Why is this bitch calling Johnny?”
Just as I looked over to Johnny’s sleeping figure, his phone started buzzing again. “Heaven” started blinking on his screen. ‘Fuck this…’
“Hello,” I answered quietly.
“Uh, hi,” she said. “Is Johnny there?”
“Yeah, he’s here.” I told her. “But he’s asleep. Can I help you with something?” I was trying so hard not to be an asshole.
“Yeah, actually,” Heaven answered quickly. “I got a call from Matt earlier about something I think that’s pretty serious and after J didn’t answer the first time I kind of took off and am headed your way…”
I was quiet for a second. Matt called Heaven? What the fuck?
“Y-you there,” Heaven asked.
“Uhm…” I didn’t know what to say. “Yeah. I’m here.”
“Okay,” she said hesitantly. “Well, I’m almost there. You should probably wake up Johnny.”
“Sure…” I went over to Johnny and shook him awake.
“Huh,” he mumbled, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
I waved for him to follow me. I walked over to Ezra’s room with Johnny right behind me.
“Well, I’m right down the street,” Heaven said breathlessly. She sounded so nervous talking to me.
“Okay. Just come on it when you get here,” I said. “There should be a key under the little frog next to the door.”
“Who is it,” Johnny asked.
“Heaven,” I mouthed back. His eyes widened.
“Oh… Okay.” She said. “Uhm, there’s something else too…”
“What’s up,” I said, stopping in front of my son’s crib, looking down at his sleeping body. I closed the window next to his crib as Johnny picked him up.
“I-I’m,… I’m sorry,” Heaven stuttered. “For all that stupid bullshit. It wasn’t my place and I didn’t mean to cause any harm. I was just angry. I don’t usually act all fucking bitchy like that. I just didn’t know what to do. I-.”
“It’s okay, Heaven,” I said, cutting her off. “I wouldn’t know what to do either. Don’t worry.”
I heard a car door close, and she sighed. “Okay,” She said quietly. “Thanks.”

Johnny started making his way down stairs as I hung up the phone and dialed Matt’s number after texting Meghan to come over.
He picked up on the third ring and just as I was about to say ‘hello’ I heard Jimmy and Meghan bickering in the background.
“Is everything okay,” Matt asked quickly.
“Yeah, everything is fine, I think,” I said. “What happened that Johnny’s got like, one thousand missed calls from you?”
“Aw man,” he said heavily. “I’ll explain in a bit. We’re like down the street.

Before I could say anything else, he hung up on me. ‘This bitch…’
“Look, I really don’t know what’s going on dude.” I heard Heaven’s voice from downstairs, but from what I could tell, she didn’t sound all that great. “I just got a call from Matt in the middle of nowhere demanding for me to tell him what I had been doing in y’all’s house and what I was doing with this kids’ clothes. Johnny, you of all people know that I haven’t been here in fucking forever! I don’t know what the fuck is happening, but if this is some kind of joke, I need you to tell me.”

I stood at the bottom of the stairs and watched a very distressed looking Heaven clutch her stomach in front of Johnny. She didn’t look very good at all. Her hair was pulled back into a very messy bun, she was still in pajamas, indicating that she had probably just hopped out of bed as soon as she got this call, and the look on her face was enough for me to think that she was almost about to pass out.

“Nobody is joking around, Heaven,” Val said from behind her. Everyone had just walked in through the front door and was taking a place in the living room.
“What’s going on,” I asked, walking next to my sister who was holding on to a very angry looking Jimmy.
“We found this on our front porch,” Matt said, holding the onesie that he and Val had given me at a party for Ezra. “It had a note on it with a big ass ‘H’ in front. If you didn’t leave it there, who else could have?”
“I have no idea man,” Heaven said, her voice shaking slightly. “I honestly don’t. I swear. I just booked a flight back to Virginia, dude. After that I was going to be long gone. Why the hell would I stir up trouble just because?”
“I don’t know, Heaven,” Johnny said. “Maybe because you were able to come all the way back here to stir up trouble just because.”
“That is nowhere near why I fucking came back, and you know better.” She spat at him.
“Okay that is enough,” Jimmy said, stepping forward. “Remember how I said that I also had something that popped up?”

Everyone got real quiet waiting for him to continue.
“Have you been talking to Lee,” he asked Heaven.
She was quiet for a minute. “Of course I have, Jimmy,” she sighed. “She was my best friend aside from you guys. The only one I kept in touch with after I left.”
“Well she called me…” Jimmy’s gaze never left Heaven.
“What?!” Val went from calm to pissed the fuck off in record time. “Jimmy, when the Hell did this happen?”
“That night after Ezra was born,” he said. “She was pretty angry.”
“She never told me about that!” Heaven looked to the floor, deep in thought. “What the fuck… What did she say? Did she tell you everything?”

Jimmy looked around at everyone and rubbed his neck. “Well, I kind of got all pissy because she called,” he said awkwardly. “And she started getting mad and cried because she said that you were telling her a bunch of shit for no reason. That you went off on her, and told her to get lost and shit.”
Heaven’s jaw dropped. “You have got to be fucking kidding me!”
“Well what the fuck happened,” Johnny said. He was getting real irritated already and looked about ready to strangle Heaven.
“Oh my God. Fucking Leanna, dude…” she said. “Ugh! Okay. Well, the next morning I wake up, and the first thing I do is call her. I told her everything. From the party all the way to that and she started getting angry. Telling me that I should give up and that I should do my best to break you guys up. She started telling me how stupid all of you were and all this other shit. And I started thinking about how pathetic I must have seemed to you all. But as I started thinking of all of that, the shit she was saying started getting more and more spiteful. It was kind of freaking me out. She started aiming all the drama from what I was exaggerating on myself to you, Johnny, then to your girlfriend, then to the baby- I, I told her to shut the fuck up. And that she was starting to sound like a fucking maniac. When I was telling her to calm down, she started getting angrier and went off on me. So I told her that I didn’t want anything to do with her and her insanity, or whatever the fuck you would call that. I mean, shit. It was freaking me the fuck out! I don’t want anything to do with that shit.”

“So, do you think this was her,” Matt asked carefully.
Heaven stood there quietly. Just like me, I’m pretty sure she didn’t know what to say. If she and Leanna were as close as she says they were, I’m sure she wouldn’t have expected her to do, or even say the things that she did. But like my dad always used to say to me when I was little, “Just when you think you really know a person, they do something that proves you wrong.”
"I don't know," Heaven said, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "I mean, she was talking crazy, but she can't be crazy enough to do anything like this. I mean... He's just a baby. She loves kids! She would never hurt one! She couldn't!"


“What do we do,” I asked, going over to take Ezra from a confused looking Johnny.
“Well, for starters,” Meghan said. “I don’t feel comfortable with you guys staying here anymore. And we should probably call someone who could actually help. God forbid that I get my hands on that bitch considering that this one over here is telling the truth.”
Heaven looked over to my sister apologetically, but before she could say anything I stepped in for her. “She already apologized to me. So talking shit to her or anything of the sort is out of the question.”

Everyone turned to stare at me, but I paid no mind and looked down to my so who was sleeping soundly in my arms.
“So what do we do, again,” Johnny asked.
“How about you guys stay at our house,” Jimmy said, grabbing Meghan’s hand.
“I’ll call Syn and Zacky and fill them in,” Matt said. “Maybe Zee can head over since he’s single now.”
“Heaven, you can stay over at our place,” Val said to her. “Maybe we can sort something out and you can stay here a little longer?” I smiled at the hope in her voice.
“Sure,” Heaven said with a small smile.
“Okay then,” Johnny said. “I’m gonna go pack a bag and we can be out of here in the next 10 minutes.”
Tonight was going to be along one…
