Right Where I Belong

Jimmy’s POV

The backdoor was left open, from Matt and Jess I guess. I saw his car parked in the drive way. I walked upstairs and heard voices coming from Brian’s bedroom.
I knew this house like my own so I knew where to went, and that I had to go there was turning all my thoughts into an even bigger turmoil.
What would I find when I looked into the bedroom? How should I react now?
What if they really did it? How should I handle the whole situation?
I let my shoulder fall down and walked the last steps to his bedroom and heard Brian’s voice,
“Jimmy called? I tried to reach him the whole fucking evening, how did he contact you?”
“I called from a gas station.” I replied and looked at Elise.
She stood only in a t-shirt between Brian’s bed and Matt towering form.

And I just felt defeated somehow. Didn’t know what to do…or how to feel.. I honestly didn’t want to know what was going on here. At least not right now. I just wanted to go home…

“James?” Elise whispered but I heard her voice crystal clear.
And I turned back around haven’t realized that I had turned my back on them.
“Jimmy, wait.” Brian stood up but I didn’t wanna talk to him right now.
“Leave it alone, man.” I shook my head at him, “Just... leave it alone.”
“We need to talk.” He said and grabbed my arm.
“Don’t touch me.” I pulled my arm away. “Elise, are you coming?” I looked at her hopeful.
“I.. I think… we really should talk first.” Elise said and looked between me and Brian.
“I don’t wanna talk now. I wanna go home. You coming or staying?”
“I… Yes, I’m coming.” Elise said and I felt relieved.

She walked past Matt and I wanted to grab her and run away, didn’t I have this feeling before?!
“I need to grab my things, from the other room.” She looked down at herself and up to me again.
“Alright.” But before she walked any further she turned back around, “Brian, thank you... For everything... And sorry, for the trouble.”
Then she walked out and to the guest room and I waited for her to grab her stuff, but then
Brian came running out of his bedroom, Matt and Jess hot on his heels.
“Wait, Jimmy. We really need to talk.”
“I don’t wanna fucking talk right now. I just want to take MY girlfriend home.” I sneered at him and he stopped in his step.
“What the fuck, bro?! Why are you pointing that out to me? I know she is yours.” Brian frowned.
“Really? You know that? Didn’t seem like that right now…”

Couldn’t they just leave me alone for the night? I just wanted to forget, hold Elise in my arms this night and sleep.
And just forget… and don’t ask questions. Just try to imagine that nothing happened. And tomorrow was another day, tomorrow I could start to worry again.
“What you mean it didn’t seem like that?” Brian asked astonished.
“Well… we just found her in your bedroom…” Matt said and confirmed my suspicion.
“We told you why! And you are not helping, Matt!” Brian yelled.
“Alright, we shouldn’t come to any conclusion here, before the whole story is unraveled, okay. We all calm the fuck down now and sit on a table and talk.” Jess said and shoved Matt down the corridor then grabbed my hand and I had no other option then to follow.

I sat on the couch in Brian’s living room.
Elise sat down beside me and I grabbed her hand, on pure instinct.
I was glad that she didn’t pull away.

Matt sat on my other side and Brian on the opposite side from us. Jess stood before us like a judge, I had to smirk at that even if I didn’t feel like laughing at all.
“Who begins? Elise?” Jess asked and I felt Elise stiffen next to me.
“I would rather talk to Jimmy, alone…”
“Jimmy dragged us in on this, so we gonna stay until everything is settled and everyone is happy again. So spill it.” Jess said and looked from Elise to Brian.
“That’s my girl, right there.” Matt said proudly and grinned at Jess.

“Alright, I start.” Brian said and I knew he did it to give Elise an easy start.
“Look, I know the whole Story know, because I talked to Elise about everything, but she should tell her part of it. I will just say where I was thrown into it, in the short version. Zack forgot his phone, I picked up when someone called, and then I had this Collin guy on the phone. He said Elise was with him and asked him for a…” Brian stopped and looked at Elise she nodded silently.
“For a favor. I would say… I thought, you and Elise had a fight, so I told the guy I would pick her up.”
“A favor? What do you mean favor? And why did you go to that guy and not just call me?” I turned to Elise. This was getting more confusing each second.
“Jimmy… I’m so sorry. I heard a conversation from you and Brian that it would be easier if I wouldn’t be a virgin, and you rejected me and… I was so confused… then Samantha told me you would break up with me… she planted seeds in my head… and I just… I wanted to ask Collin to… sleep with me… I know, it’s wrong and was a mistake… We didn’t do it. Collin called Brian and he picked me up… That’s why I am here, I didn’t want to go back! We tried to call you but your phone was shut off!”

I looked at her stunned. WHAT?! I knew I heard this from Samantha but to hear it again, from her directly…
I couldn’t say anything.
I just looked at her and Brian. Matt and Jess looked nearly as shocked as me.
“You thought, sleeping with another man would help?” Jess asked.
“Elise you should have called a friend and talked about it. Or talked to Jimmy directly and told him what is wrong…”
“I know that now.” Elise sobbed.
“Shit, why didn’t you call me?” Jess said.
“I didn’t think that you wanted to hear my problems, you are… so different than me.”
“But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t have listened and tried to help you… We are all friends, right?”
“Yes.” Jess hugged her and I wanted to hug her, too but I had to say something else first.
“Shit, Brian. I am sorry. I jumped to conclusion to soon, I just… kinda lost my mind on the whole drive between college and here… heard your message… and well… I’m an idiot.” I said and walked to Brian.
He stood up and hugged me.
“I would say I told you so… but I am not an ass, am I?”
“You are normally.”
“Well then, told you so.” He grinned.

“And what have you been doing all night long, while I saved your girl?” Brian asked me while he let himself fall back down on the couch.
“Don’t ask. Worst night of my entire life.”
“Worse than the night you spend in jail in Amsterdam, before the show we had to do with Metallica?”
“You mean, because I was chasing pigeons? And the bike cops arrested me?”
Matt nodded and I thought about that a moment, “Yes, still tonight was worse.”
Matt seemed to think about that too and I saw the confused look on Elise and Jess face.
“Never mind.” I pulled Elise up and hugged her to me.
“Don’t you ever, think about other men again, alright. And if you ever have doubts, come to me. Speak to me, damn. Elise I felt so bad you were so distant, don’t do that. I love you.”
“I love you, too.” She whispered in my ear and I felt such relieve and joy, she said it the first time.
My heart swelled and I needed to feel her closer, kiss her.
I touched my lips to hers and she responded immediately.
“I missed you, don’t scare me like that again.” I whispered near her ear and breathed in her scent.

“Yeah, okay okay. Everything is fine again, you can make up for everything tomorrow, now tell us where you have been.” Brian interrupted harshly.
I sat back down and pulled Elise on my lap, wouldn’t let her go that easily anymore.
“Okay, so… I had this bad feeling that wouldn’t go away. And I told Elise I would call her, but my fucking phone was empty and I couldn’t find my charger, so I called her room directly.
There only the bitch of a roommate answered told me she wasn’t here and if I wanted to prevent something I should be coming right away.”
I told them the whole story, well… at least I let out the bathrobe and the touching part from her side, I didn’t want to upset Elise even more then she was with the whole situation and I knew we still had to talk about everything what happened but I was just glad that she didn’t do anything stupid and Brian had been the savior… this time…!

“She want’s WHAT?” Matt and Brian asked in unison.
“Meet and Greet.” I answered.
“That bitch will get nothing. I won’t let my man near that woman.” Jess said and I grinned.
“We’ll figure something out.” Brian said and looked at each one of us.
“Now, if you please… Get out of my fucking house or find yourself a room to sleep, because I wanna sleep at least for a few more hours. AND Matt I mean SLEEP! You got me right?! I don’t wanna find you again in one of my storage rooms or something.”
“NO, we agreed to do it in the bathroom next.” Jess said and grinned.
“Good God, too much information.” Brian said and turned away.
“Alright, come on, babe. We leave.” I grabbed Elise hand and she took her bag and we drove over to my house, finally home…
