The next two weeks were strained as Valarie fell deeper into the wedding planning but slowed down for Christmas. The guys played a Christmas Eve show in LA and everyone spent Christmas day together without at Matt’s house where they of course drank and had a good time. Zacky and Diana decided to spend the time up until the New Year separated from the group at Zacky’s house hoping the separation would help Diana relieve the stress and emotions she was feeling lately. They decided on doing a Disney movie marathon that night with some of Zacky’s favorite movies when there was a knock on the door. Zacky went to the door and opened it and the person walked in and both came into the living room to reveal that it was Jimmy.

“Hey Jimmy what’s up?”

“I just wanted to stop by and see you since it’s been a few days.”

“It’s past midnight are you okay?” Diana stood up and hugged him.

“Yeah I was just over at Brian’s house with everyone hanging out.”

“Well sit down and hang out for a little bit.”

“Sure.” Jimmy slipped off his jacket and hung it on the rack and sat in one of the chairs and Zacky started the movie. About half an hour later when the movie was over Jimmy stood up and announced that he was going to head home for the night.

“I hope everything is okay Jimmy. You can talk to me if not.”

“I know I can. I love you Diana.”

“I love you too Jimmy.”

Diana hugged Jimmy tightly before he said goodbye to Zacky and left. When they were in the living room Zacky noticed that Jimmy forgot his jacket and called him.

“Hey man you forgot your jacket….dude you’re like a minute away come and get it…. Okay that’s fine just get it tomorrow. Bye man.” Zacky hung up and shrugged.

“Jimmy told me to hold onto it since he knows I love that jacket. Are you ready for bed?” Diana nodded and headed upstairs and she and Zacky got ready for bed.

Diana was woken up the next morning by Zacky and when she opened her eyes she could see his face was red and puffy from crying and she sat up.

“Baby what’s wrong?”

“We need to go downstairs.”

Diana crawled out of bed with nothing but an oversized Vengeance University shirt on and sweats pants. When they got downstairs and into the living room everyone was there and they had all been crying. Zacky sat her down on the couch and took her hands.

“Diana we just found out really bad news. Brian went over to Jimmy’s house this morning after they were supposed to meet up and he didn’t show.” Zacky’s voice started catching and Valarie could be heard starting to cry again. “Diana, Jimmy died last night.”
Diana had read books where the character described the world as having completely stopped when shattering news was said but she never imagined she would experience that kind of emotion. She looked around at everyone to see if they would break character, like it was some kind of sick joke and when no one did she looked back at Zacky who had started to cry again. Diana found herself wiping away Zacky’s tears before she realized that she was crying too. She had heard the words that he was gone but the meaning hadn’t set in yet that he was gone.

“He was just here hours ago.”

“I know he was.”

“He said he would be back for that jacket.”

“He stopped by my place last night and gave me this. I want you to have it Diana.”

Matt stood up and walked across the room and handed her an envelope titled “Fiction”. She took the papers out and realized that it was song lyrics and that they were completely composed. Diana leaned into Zacky and started sobbing and mumbling Jimmy’s name. The only family she had left was gone. True she had the guys and Valarie and Michelle but it’s not the same as flesh and blood family. Her parent were dead and now so was Jimmy and even though Zacky was holding her tightly and the room was filled with the people closest to her, she never felt more alone. She felt something inside her wither and die, like she would never hear the perfect melody again or the sun would never feel warm again.

I know this one is short but I'm starting to close the story since next week I'm going to be doing my studying abroad for the summer and I don't want to leave for a month and not have an updates. I'm expecting maybe another three chapter but I'm going to focus on making them detailed and long. When I do get back I plan on making a sequel since I do like writing this story and I have an idea of how I'm going to break it into a sequel so stay tuned :)
