I had begun to prepare dinner for Brian and I as Angel and Jase were getting ready to go out somewhere. Who knows where they're going but I don't really care as long as they're gone when dinner is ready and Brian is here. I decided on making a recipe my mother had that was sort of a comfort food to me but she made it often since I liked it. Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo but with a southern twist to it. The smell of the food being cooked made my mouth water and my stomach growl. I guess I hadn't noticed that I hadn't eaten since breakfast. My mind was filled with the secret behind my gift. The sound of 2 sets of footsteps came from upstairs and both Angel and Jase entered the kitcen and breathed in the air.

"I wish you weren't kicking us out of here tonight. The food smells awfully good."

"I know Jase but you know the reason why." I said setting the table while the food simmered in the pot.

"Yeah yeah. You need to be alone to talk to Brian."

"So where are you two going tonight?" I asked changing the subject.

"I was thinking about Johnny's Bar but Jase wants to go see a movie first."

"Hey, sue me alright. I haven't seen a good movie in ages." Jase said crossing his arms over his chest and pouting.

"You know you look like a girl when you do that." I laughing as Angle and Jase went back and forth at each other saying names and shit. They can be children at times but it keeps me entertained. I heard the sound of a car door slamming and they stopped bickering long enough to grab the rest of their things.

"I'll see you later. Don't forget to text me and let me know what's up."

"Don't worry I will." I said putting the food into a large bowl and sitting it on the table. Angel and Jase lef the kitchen and I heard them tell Brian where they were going out for a while. I took a deep breath and let it out through my nose as Brian came into the room with a smile on his face.

"Something smells fucking good in here. What did you cook?"

"My mother's recipe for Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo." I said smiling as he wrapped me in his strong arms and kissed me sweetly.

"It smells fantastic. I hope it tastes as good as it smells."

"Believe me it does but it does have a slight kick to it." I said smiling as I grabbed him a beer from the fridge and just filled a glass of water for myself. I set the beer in front of him and sat down. He dug right into the food and with him shoveling the food into his mouth, I took that he liked it. I ate slowly and tried to think of a way to start off the conversation but my mind was drawing a blank. Maybe I should just make it casual.

"How was recording?" I asked breaking the silence.

"It was great! We got a lot of work done today and I hope the rest od the time goes as good as today went. What did you do today?"

"I watched some TV while Angel and Jase went to the store to get some food for you and that's just about it." I said and I knew I needed to tell him. He's going to find out sooner or later.

"Brian, I really need to talk to you about something." I said setting my fork down on my plate.

"What is it honey?"

"There's something you don't know about my gift. It's really hard to talk about but I think you should know." I said sighing. He looked at me intently.

"Brian...I know how you really want to have sex with me and everything but don't get me wrong. I love that you're waiting until I'm ready but...it's not that I'm not ready to take it to that next step it's that..." I said looking down. I don't think I could look at his face when I tell him.

"What's going on baby? You can tell me anything."

"With the gift that I have...there are certain things I can't do and having sex is one of them." I said still looking down at my plate.

"Why can't you? Is there like some kind of pact you have to make or something?"

"No...damn why don't I just say it. If I have sex with someone, my ability to contact the dead and see the dead will go away." I said glancing up at him.

"Is that why we can't do it?"

"Yes...and I'll understand if you don't want to be with me anymore. I mean I have to be certain that I want my gift to leave me. It's a very big step for me to take." I explained.

"Baby...I always want to be with you. Quite frankly, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have you. I'll wait to the end of time if I have too. I don't want you to lose your special gift just because I want to pleasure you in my bed." I smiled and looked up as Brian came over to me and picked me out of the chair before sitting me down on his lap.

"You know I've played different scenarios over in my head about what you would say?" I said smiling as he rubbed my back.

"You thought I would be frustrated because you can't be intimate with me?" I nodded and he laughed before kissing me.

"I could never be frustrated over something like that. Your gift is very important to you and I would never ever be frustrated with a decision you have to make." I hugged his neck tightly as he rubbed up and down my back slowly. Never have I thought in a million years would a man truely want to wait on me.
