Trying not to love you

"What did you just say?" Val said

Oh shit! What the hell is wrong with me?! Why can't I control my mouth?!

"What? I didn't say anything. You're probably hearing things." I quickly said, trying to pretend I didn't say anything and tried to walk away quickly.

"Brian Haner, you stop right there and get back over here!" Val yelled at me.

Craaap! I dropped my head and turned to Val. I walked towards her with my head still down.

"Did you just say what I think you just said?" Val asked. There was no denying it now. But I stayed quite anyways.

"Answer me Brian!" Val demanded

"Okay!" I yelled.

"I've been trying to ruin Angelica and Tyson's dates by faking emergencies so she'll stay here with us. With me." I admitted to Val.

"You have feelings for her, don't you?" Val said. I stayed quite and she took my silence as a yes.

"Aaahhh!" She screamed and then threw her arms around me.

"This is just so amazing, you have no idea! Do you know how long I've been waiting to hear you admit that? Forever! Thats how long." She was starting to bable and I knew it was just because she was excited.

"Okay calm down, Val." I said

"Sorry!" Val said

"So does anybody else know about your feelings? She asked.

I told her that only Zack and Jimmy knew and that I made them swear to not say anything. "

So now that you know, I need you to either swear to me that you won't say anything or I could kill you." I said. I was joking about the killing part, but I just couldn't resist. Her facial expression was priceless.

"You are so not funny. And I swear I won't say a word." She said.

"Oh and one more thing." Val said and then punched me in my chest.

"Ow! What the hell was that for?!" I yelled at her.

"How long have you fucking felt this way?!" She asked.

"Since high school. Why?" I said and then Val hit me again.

"Are you serious?! Since high school!? Why didn't you fucking say anything?!" She yelled and hit me several more times.

"Ouch!" I yelled out.

"So what if I did?! She probably didn't feel the same way about me back then because was all about her boyfriend John, Jack, or what ever the fuck his name was. And now she clearly doesn't have any feelings for me because she's so into Tyson!" I yelled at Val.

"Oh my god, you are such a fucking dumbass!" She yelled at me.

"Oh really! So I'm wrong?!" I yelled at Val in a sarcastic tone.

"Yes!" She yelled. And I immediately stopped and looked at her.

"During Highschool, she was not all about Jeremy! She was all about you. But you were to blind and stupid to realize it." She yelled at me.

I was surprised to hear that about Angelica. She actually had feelings for me back in highschool. How could I have missed the signs. We spent everyday together. We did everything together. We talked on the phone everynight. Oh! Wow! I am a dumbass.

"Okay. But if she was crazy about me then why did she get with Jeremy?" I asked Val.

"She only got with Jeremy because she felt that it wasn't ever gonna happen between you and her. She really did like Jeremy, but she didn't want to start a relationship with him because she was waiting for you. And when she realized you weren't going to make a move, she decided to go with Jeremy." Val said.

"Dammit!" I yelled in frustration and then I puched the van.

"Okay, so what about now? She has to have given up on me by now, right? I mean she's going out with Tyson." I said.

I knew the answer, but I was dreading to hear it.

"Okay she'd kick my ass for telling you this, but for some strange reason I feel like you need to know." She said. My heart began to pound and my stomach got a tight and twisted feeling.

"She does still have feelings for you." Val said. Okay, that was not the answer I was thinking! Yes! I still have a chance!

"But she is slowly giving up on your ass." Val said and my heart sank.

"I don't even know why she's held on to you for so long in the first place, but she has and you better change your playboy ways if you want to get and keep her." Val said.

"Okay. No more messing around. I am going to be serious now. I promise." I said .

"Okay. Well there's nothing we can do right now except wait for her to get back. But as soon as she does, we'll get to work." Val joked.

~10 minutes later~

I was sitting on the hood of the van drinking a beer and waiting for Angelica when I hear laughing. I looked up and then I saw Angelica running towards me

"Angelica!" I yelled, which got the attention of Val and the guys. She finally got to me but instead of saying 'hi', she took my beer from hand and took a big drink.

"Oh my god did that feel good." She said. She had on a pair of aviator glasses and I just assumed that they belonged to Matt.

"'Oh, Hi guys! Sorry about missing your meet and greet. I had to fight this evil dragon.' 'Oh that's okay Angelica. We forgive you.'" Jimmy said, mimicking a conversation between him and her.

"Thanks! I knew you'd understand." She said taking another drink from my beer.

"I was being sarcastic." Jimmy said.

"Their they are! I was looking for my glasses all day." Matt said going to get his glasses from Angelica.

"Back off Matt. These are Tysons." She said swating away Matt's hand.

"Becareful." Tyson said.

"Don't worry. He didn't touch your precious glasses." I snapped.

"That's not what I was talking about." Tyson spat back at me.

"Will you please let me look at it now." Tyson said to Angelica as he went for his glasses.

"No. I already told you that it's not a big deal." She said.

"It is a big deal. Now let me look." Tyson said trying to take the glasses off. What the hell are they talking about?!

"What's going on?" Val asked

"It's nothing Val. I just got into a little argument with this girl." Angelica said.

"A little argument? A full on fist fight is not an argument." Tyson said.

I spat out my beer, dropped my bottle and ran to Angelica. I shoved Tyson out of my way and took off the sunglasses. Angelica had a cut right under her eyebrow with a little bruise.

"Oh my god!" Val gasped.

"What the hell happened?!" I said placing my hands on the sides of Angelica's face to look at the cut better.

"I just got into this stupid little fight, but I'm fine. Really, I'm okay." Angelica said grabbing my hands and trying to pull them away.

"You got into a fight and you are hurt! You are not okay!" I yelled. How the hell can she be fine?! I'm freaking out about this and I'm not the one that's hurt.

"Oh what do you care?" Angelica tried to whisper under her breath, but I heard.

"What?" I asked her. A shocked look came upon her face. I don't think she wanted me to hear that.

"What?" She asked. I guess she was trying to play it off.

"What do you mean, 'what do I care?' Why wouldn't I care?!" I asked her. She rolled her eyes and stayed silent.

"Answer me Angelica!" I said geting in her face.

"Hey! Don't get in her face like that!" Tyson yelled and tried to pull me away from Angelica. Is he serious right now. I'll crush his ass in a fight. Especially right now.

"Get the fuck off of me!" I yelled and pushed him away. Then something happened that through me off.

"Don't push him like that!" Angelica yelled and ran to Tyson.

"You wanna know what I meant?! I'll tell you! You are so fucking full of yourself that all you fucking care about is yourself and getting laid by random ass sluty fan girls. After all this time of trying to pull off being a damn rockstar that you don't even care about hurting the one person who has been there and cared for you since day 1!" Angelica yelled.

I could see her eyes getting red and tears start to form. She turned back to Tyson and helped him up. She started to walk away but I grabbed her arm and turned her to face me. I didn't think about what I was doing. I just did it.

I kissed her and said "I love you." We looked into each others eyes and her look softened then the rage came back. She pulled away from me and then I felt the hard pain against the side of my face.

She had punched me.

"How fucking dare you say that to me!" She yelled at me and then she started to walk away again, but I called to her.

"Angelica wait!" I said.

She turned back and spat "I'm done waiting for your ass." She turned and ran away with Tyson. I lost her for sure now. I just hope I didn't lose her from my life.
