Chapter 20
Erin’s P.O.V
We did the best we could with Liv and Johnny was a mess but it nearly killed him when the twins and I made it clear that Liv needed a kidney transplant or she would die. Jimmy was her saving grace since he matched up with her and I turned to him as he spoke through the doorway.
“I’ll do it” He said and everyone just fell silent as he walked in sitting at the end of the bed Liv was lying on.
“You are sure this is what you want to do?” Matt asked and I walked over putting my arm around Matt hoping to feel better and I looked up.
“Ya know it is no use… he wants to do it and he isn’t gonna change his mind” I said looking up at him and everyone stared at us and I let go and looked at Jimmy once again.
“So when are we going to do this?” He asked and I didn’t think he wanted to show how he truly felt but I knew that he was saving Liv…
“The twins and I will run a few more blood test and such and then we will talk it over with each of you and we can get going later” I said and nodded at Jason and Mattie and they walked out of the room with viles of blood. I turned to Liv.
“I promise you sweetie that I will do my fucking best to pull you through, I have two of the best men with me and you have all of us here to support you” I said letting a tear slip from my eye and Johnny just looked at me and smiled.
“I know you will do your best E… thank you for coming here and helping” Johnny said and looked back down at Liv. I slipped out of the room and then to the computer room where Jason and Mattie were testing the blood samples. I sat there looking through Liv’s medical records and rested my chin on my hand and Jason rolled his chair over to me.
“Alright Elephant in the room time” He said and I just stared at him.
“Really Erin? You have been practicing medicine as long as we have and you know what I am talking about” He said raising an eyebrow… talking about something I wish wasn’t
true.
“I KNOW JASON!! JESUS I FUCKING KNOW!” I yelled going over to work on some of the samples.
“You have to fucking tell them there is only a fucking slight chance on this! They could fucking die!” Jason said yelling back at me and I stopped and I rubbed my shoulder that felt like it was on fire from the wound still.
“I really don’t think you should mess with her bro… she gets it… she is just waiting till the one on one with them. Everyone will need time for this” Mattie said and I sighed and walked back into the bedroom where Liv was and all the guys and Kylie were sitting there as the heart monitor beeped and saw the look on my face shooting up.
“WHAT’S WRONG?” Johnny asked and I threw my hair up into a ponytail as a nervous habit and sat Johnny and everyone back down and Liv groaned looking up at me and she slightly smiled and I rubbed her hand a little.
“Listen… I am still running the tests and so far everything is normal and the baby is fine… but… I wanted to talk more about the transplant process” I said and took a deep breath in.
“We may not be in the medical field but we know what it is Erin” Brian said and I just shook my head.
“Dude let her talk she is serious… I wanna hear this” Johnny said and I walked around to the other side and held his hand while I spat this information out.
“I know you know what it is but realize… Liv’s injuries are so severe… there is only a 30% chance that this operation could work… that could mean losing Jimmy in the process.. there is a lot more to this” I said and Johnny tightened his grip fiercely and I whimpered a little and Matt shot up.
“I am going to give you a few minutes to talk about this alright… I promised you I would do my best and I will make sure that we make it into that 30%” I said to Johnny and he let go and I walked out with Matt following me downstairs. He pulled my arm and I fell into his chest and I literally just broke down crying which was a very rare occurrence for me.
“Shhhh” He said rubbing my hair and swaying back and forth and I just could not control myself.
“I don’t know if I can do this… if I can pull this off! I am good but I cannot just shit miracles… I love Liv so much and I want her to live!” I said loudly into his chest and he pulled back and just gazed at me.
“Erin snap out of it! You will help her! You have Mattie and Jason and you have our love no matter what the fuck happens! Do not let this bring you down!” He said and I knew that there was something that was there between the two of us and I could feel the energy coming from him.
“You feel it right?” He asked almost like he could see into my soul and read what I was thinking at the time. I nodded and he leaned down and kissed me and I instantly knew that I needed to make things better that Liv was my main priority and that I could do this. I kissed him back and I could feel the want brewing in my core but… the twins decided to make their presence known.
“Sorry to interrupt the epic moment of Erin crying and the kissing and such but we just wanted to say that all the tests are normal and we can sit down and make sure that everyone knows what the risks and such are but as of now we have the green light” Jason said and Mattie handed me the paperwork and I sat there gazing at this and kissed Matt and ran upstairs.
“So all the tests are normal and everything as of right now looks good…. Are you going to proceed with this?” I asked knowing that this was a huge decision for Johnny, Jimmy and Liv to decide upon… what they would do was anybody’s guess.
