Nothing else matters

Romy’s POV
It was the third day that we stayed at Brian’s house. It was always like this, when someone was in a bad situation. We were all holding together and staying.
Still we had no sign from Ana. We all tried to call her but her phone was shut off. Brian was at her parent’s house, but they didn’t open the door.
He was miserable and it got worth each day. It was like a disease that slowly sucked out all of his energy and will to live.
At first we tried to convince him that she will come back and that it will be just a misunderstanding, but now we weren’t so convinced ourselves.
Jimmy was nearly as down as Brian we sat together on Brian’s couch.
Zack and I had planned our first time really being together in a different way but it was absolutely clear for us that our friends came first and they needed us right now.
Johnny was lying in one of the guest rooms still asleep and Matt and Val were here from morning to evening only for the night they went home, because Matt was still a little sick.

Jimmy’s POV

“OK, I can’t sit around anymore. We will go find her now. We will build little groups. I will go with Brian, Val and Matt together and Romy, Zack and Johnny.” I stood up and grabbed Brian’s arm.
“And where do you want to go, Jimmy? Where do you think we can find her? I don’t know any of her friends... and her parents; they wouldn’t open the door… Just leave me alone and please everyone… go home!” Brian sat back down on the couch again a beer in his hand. He was drinking nonstop.
“I have an idea, Jimmy you and Brian will go to the places where you two met, like the park, right? Maybe she is in thoughts and wanted to clear her head and she went there, it’s not so far from her home, right?” Romy suggested.
“Val and I will head over to her Uni, try to find someone she had classes with or old colleagues… or some of her professors, I don’t know… we will try…” Matt looked at Brian.
“Yes, and Zack, Johnny and I will try to call her again go to the beach or the city some places where a lot of people are, we can show a picture of her maybe someone saw her, she is looking for a job, right.. We will just ask everywhere, ok?”
“And if that doesn’t help I will print these wanted signs and hang them all around town with a picture of her and a reward for the finder, like in these old Western movies.” I said and that made
even Brian smile a little. But I would do that, everything to bring back Brian’s happiness.

Matt’s POV

“I don’t know what I would do if you were just gone without a sign. I would lose my head, my heart, everything Val.”
“Oh Mattie, I would never leave you. But you don’t know what Ana’s reasons were. We need to find her and ask her what kept her from being with Brian. I thought they were so happy together. I haven’t seen Brian so happy like ever when he was with her.”
“Yeah… me, too.”
We arrived at the Uni where Ana had studied and we parted. I asked around the campus if someone saw her and Val was talking to the professors.
I was without luck; nobody knew her or had seen her. I searched for Val and found her in a group of young students all staring at Val. I should have told her to dress differently; she looked too hot in her hot pants and that skin tight shirt that she wore.
I shoved some of these young dudes out of my way and laid my arm across Val’s slim shoulders.
I kissed her lips, “You found something out about Ana?” I stared at the guys standing around Val.
“No, these guys here, wanted to help and ask around.” She smiled sweetly at the boys.
“Did you have any luck?” she asked me.
“Nope, no one saw her or no one knows her.” I shook my head.
“OK, so let’s go and call the other, maybe they have some more information.”
Val said goodbye to the guys standing around and we started walking, I turned around and looked at the guys still staring at Val’s backside and motioned my thump across my throat in a killing motion and quickly the young boys turned around and were busy running away.

Jimmy’s POV

We were now walking for more than 2 hours around the park and the streets near the park but we didn’t find any hint of Ana. At first Brian’s mood was a little better and he had some hope that maybe this whole searching would finally result into something but now he was just as depressed as before. Matt and Val had called that they found nothing and I was afraid to hear what Romy, Zack and Johnny had found out.
“Yo, Brian, let us get back to your house and wait for the others, maybe they have heard something, ok?!”
“Yeah, but first stop at the gas station and get me some whiskey or vodka or something else, doesn’t matter…”

Zacky’s POV

My feet are hurting so bad I don’t know for how many hours we were running around now.
And we have found nothing. No one saw her and I was getting frustrated.
And why in hell did we get to have Johnny with us. He was getting on my nerves.
“Yo Zack, tell me again, how did Matt react when he found out that you were banging his sister?”
“Damn it Christ, stop it.”
Romy came back from another shop she asked if they saw Ana, but she shook her head before she was at our side.
“Nope again, nothing.”
“Where would you go? Maybe we could ask in some Hotels? Maybe she got a room there?” Johnny asked.
“Damn Christ that is quite a good idea. Go ahead and asked at the first ones.” I replied and shoved him towards the first hotel in sight.
“I will write her a message again.” Romy took her phone out and typed a message.
I grabbed her around the waist and hugged her to me.
“Damn, we must keep an eye on Brian he is drinking way too much these last couple of days. I am a little afraid that… you know… he will…I don’t know…that he doesn’t know when it’s enough before it’s too late.”
“Oh Zack, don’t say that. We will keep an eye on him. We won’t let him get in danger.”

After we visited or called each hotel we knew around town we went back to Brian’s house.
We were all sitting around Brian’s living room. Brian hadn’t eaten in days, we ordered food in masses but he wouldn’t eat. The only substance he took is alcohol and that he took in masses. Romy grabbed the bottle from him and threw it in the sink.
“What the fuck, Romy?!” Brian stepped aggressively towards her.
“Damn it Brian. You are a mess, you need to eat and sleep. We love you, Brian. Please let us help.” Romy replied.
“Be for a change useful and grab me another beer and then go out of my fuckin’ way you don’t know what you are talking about, little girl…!” He shoved her out of his way.
Ok, that was going too far, I stepped towards him. “Ok, Brian we all know that you have a hard time and we will try everything to help you but I swear to god if you talk to her like that again or behave like that again, I won’t have regards towards you anymore.” I grabbed Romys waist and pulled her towards me.
“It’s ok Zack.” Romy smiled at me.
But Brian wasn’t Brian now he was out of his mind, “Yeah Zack, what you wanna do? You wanna hit me? Come on, Zack…”
He shoved me and stepped into my personal space. I let go of Romy and shoved her behind me.
Matt stepped in between us, “Guys… keep it cool… lets calm down. We try something new tomorrow, ok?!”
“Oh now you wanna talk, Matt? You have this great relationship with Val, you don’t fucking now what is happening with me and what I am talking about, so get the fuck out!! ALL GET OUT!” Brian yelled.
“Come on Brian, sit down and take a rest. Hey Romy, Zack why don’t you go home and come back tomorrow, it’s a long day. Johnny and I will stay with Brian, and we meet here tomorrow?” Jimmy tried to soothe the situation.
“Yeah, I stay with Jimmy and Brian we do a man’s night! Ohh.. that sounded pretty awkward, or?!” Johnny laughed.
I took one last look at everyone and nodded, “Ok, guys see you tomorrow. And Brian you should stop the drinking… you are not yourself.”
Romy hugged everyone and even kissed Brian’s cheek, I was still mad at him, for talking with Romy like that so I only waved goodbye and we walked towards my car.
