Jimmy rushed over and ushered Athena and Ruby inside, away from Matt.

“Uh! I can’t believe him!” Athena vented to Ruby.

Ruby knew how serious this was but couldn’t help but laugh at her sister. Athena was stomping back and forth around the kitchen and making odd faces. Jimmy went back out after making sure Athena was okay. He had gone to try to talk some sense into Matt.

“What’s wrong with you? You’ve finally got her back why not try to reconnect with her instead of trying to knock her head off?” Jimmy yelled.

“I’m trying! But she hates my fucking guts!!!” Matt exclaimed.

“No duh! You killed her dog!” Jimmy exclaimed, “Not to mention she caught you killing her old friends from high school!”

Matt looked down. He hadn’t meant to kill her dog Bobbie. It just happened. The dog had attacked him when he was angry so he had shot it. Athena was devastated. Then he had heard a few of Athena’s old friends from high school talking about how they were going to try to get Athena away from him. He couldn’t let that happen so he killed them, but he didn’t expect Athena to walk in on him doing it.

“I suggest you just leave her alone. Or maybe go back to not being an asshole.” Jimmy snapped before turning and walking into the house.

Matt stood shocked that his best friend would snap at him like that. Thoughts ran through his head about what was happening. Maybe Jimmy was right, maybe he did need to get his act together. Matt walked around to the garage and got into his SUV. He had a plan, and he was going to cross off the first thing on his list.
