Athena woke up the next day to find that she was in the room she used to share with Matt. He was right next to her wearing an old pair of boxers, and had his arm draped over her waist. She didn’t remember passing out or even changing into a crop top and pair of shorts.

“Morning, beautiful.” Matt mumbled into her shoulder.

Athena scoffed and tossed his arm off of her. She walked out of the room and heard him growl. As much as she wanted to jump back into his arms and forget about all of the people he killed, she couldn’t. Athena wanted to believe that he was still a good person inside but as they say actions speak louder than words.

“Ready to color eggs?” Jimmy asked bouncing around.

Athena put on a smile and nodded.

“Okay you and Ruby can get ready down stairs. I laid out clothes for you girls then we can go on an egg hunt.” Jimmy grinned from ear to ear.

Athena smiled up at the man she considered somewhat like an older brother to her, “You got it Jimbo.”

When she got to the bottom Ruby was waiting. They hugged again then looked at the clothes.

“I call black ears.” Athena giggled grabbing the fuzzy black bunny ears.

“Good cause I wanted white.” Ruby smiled grabbing the white ears.

The girls got dressed talking and laughing the whole time. Athena wore dark denim shorts, a grey bunny t-shirt, and black converse. Ruby on the other hand wore light ripped denim shorts a bunny t-shirt and a pair of yellow All-Stars. Athena slipped on the black bunny ears while Ruby slipped on the white.

“We should do our make up like bunnies!” Ruby giggled.

“Yes!” Athena agreed digging through the boxes of clothes and makeup.

They found black Halloween makeup and painted whiskers and upside down triangles on the tips of their noses. Satisfied with their looks they linked arms and walked up the stairs.

“Bravo!” Jimmy clapped when he saw what they looked like, he pulled out a digital camera and acted like a photographer joking around and taking pictures of them.

Matt sent all of the guys but Jimmy out of the house for the day. He walked into the kitchen to find Jimmy jumping around and taking pictures of Ruby and Athena who were making funny faces and posing for the camera. He wanted to run over, shove Athena against the wall and kiss her like he used to, but he didn’t want to scare her off. So he leaned against the door frame and just watched with a smile on his lips.

“Who’s ready for the egg hunt??” Jimmy asked excitedly.

“Me!” Ruby and Athena yelled at the same time then burst out laughing.

“Okay Johnny set up the eggs in the back yard which is fenced in by the way. Okay now let’s pick teams.” Jimmy pulled out a hat which contained pieces of paper.

“Athena first.” Athena giggled and reached her hand into the hat, wiggled around a bit then pulled out a piece of paper.

“Athena.” She read out loud then laughed, “I’m team mates with myself.”

“Pick again.” Ruby smiled and tossed the paper out.

Athena pouted then reached inside again. She pulled out a small piece of paper that had the name Matt.

“I guess we’re partners.” Matt smiled and walked over to her trying to pull on his charm.

Athena almost let her guard down as they walked into the backyard together. Jimmy handed Athena a basket then joined Ruby as they ran around the yard looking for eggs.

“You know I missed you.” Matt spoke as Athena crawled under one of the bushes to grab a bright pink egg.

Athena sighed as she put the egg in the basket, “Seriously Matt, let it go.”

“No At. You fucking stole my heart, and ripped it to shreds when you left.” He growled grabbing her arm and yanking her up off the ground.

Athena shoved out of his grasp catching the attention of Jimmy and Ruby.

“Don’t fucking touch me Matthew.”

Matt’s hands balled into fists and he had the urge to hit Athena but he wouldn’t dare, or would he?
