Hannah’s P.O.V
Papa Gates was working like crazy on finding out what he could, ordering the guys around who were still kind of tipsy but had sobered up significantly since the phone call. Everything was just so crazy, there wasn’t a damn minute where we could be normal and relax like a normal family. Any normal twenty-something female who just got married would already be planning her wedding, choosing her save-the-date’s and asking her maid of honour to actually be her maid of honour and finding her other bridesmaids. But instead, I’m trying not to be killed, track down my best friend’s psychotic sister and stay hidden from her assassins.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS CHICK?!

“I gotta get out of here,” I said to myself, standing from the sofa and walking to the front door and slipping my shoes on, on the way.

“Where are you going?” Johnny asked, walking out of the kitchen with a mug of coffee, raising it to his lips.

“I need to get out of the house for a while,” I told him and his eyes widened.

“No, Hannah… No, I can’t let you out of the house, none of us can go alone,”

“Johnny,” I pleaded.

“At least let me come with you? You’re not one hundred percent sober, nor are you in any state to fight of an attacker,”

“I need to be alone,” I told him with a sigh “Just cover for me, okay? If anyone asks, I went to sleep the alcohol off, I’ll be back before anyone notices I’m gone,” He took a deep breath and sighed, rubbing his free hand down his face.

“Fine,” He caved “But I will rat you out if it’s gonna get me in shit,” He warned.

“Thanks, Christ,” I smiled, moving to kiss his cheek before slipping out the front door, closing it behind me without a sound.

If I took the car they would know I was gone, so I decided just to walk, I didn’t know where I was going or what I was going to do, but by the time I reached the end of the path I already felt better.

The beach? No, too sandy and I’m not dressed for that shit.

The park? Nope, stupid idea, it’s secluded and at this time there won’t be many people
around.

Downtown it is.

There were plenty of people still out, eating dinner, shopping and going into the Johnny’s. Maybe I should go in and get a drink, I haven’t really talked to anyone in there for a while.

I started walking across the parking lot, the bar in my sights, I could taste the alcohol already and I was really in the mood for a drink. But then I noticed them… two pretty big guys. And as if on cue, my brain stopped working. Instead of going into the bar where I would be surrounded by people and safe, where I could call Matt, apologize for leaving and have everyone come down here to take care of the guys, I started to run, across the lot and into the alley where I was stabbed, but because I’d started running they realised I saw them and they started running too.

Once I got into the alley, I remembered that it didn’t go anywhere, I was fucking cornered.

“Sarah told us one of you would be stupid enough to come out of the house alone,” One of them chuckled darkly. I turned around and they were standing at the end of the alley way, walking towards me, closing in on me.

“Hey Gus, maybe we should take her as a present to Sarah right now, let her know we got her,” The second suggested, a sadistic smirk playing on his lips.

“You don’t have to do this,” I said, before ‘Gus’ could say anything, but they both just laughed.

“Oh no,” Gus said “We do, we do have to do this, see, I have to do it if I want to get paid and he,” He pointed to his buddy “He needs to do this if he wants to get laid,”

“She’s just using you!” I yelled, seriously hoping to get the attention of any drunken person walking by.

“Yeah, but we get money,” Gus said.

“And sex,” Number two added.

“We take her to the warehouse, where Sarah wanted her, and while we wait for her and the others, we can have some fun with her,”

Matt’s P.O.V
We’ve been working for hours, taking orders from Papa whenever Erin told us we needed to look for something else.

“Alright, Matt, I need you to-“ I cut Papa off by standing from my chair abruptly yelling in frustration.

“Dude!” I yelled “I can’t take one more fucking order, from anyone, I need a break,” I sighed loudly “Just let me get a coffee, a smoke and a kiss from Hannah, then I’ll get back to work,”

“Okay, Matt,” He smiled, clapping me on the shoulder “Go cool down, I think we all should,” He said louder for everyone else to hear.

I walked into the kitchen and started making some fresh coffee, it’s been a few hours since
Johnny made any. As I waited for the coffee I decided to look around for Hannah, I’d asked

Johnny a while ago where she was and she’d told him she wanted to lay down, she didn’t feel well, so I headed to her bedroom, which I guess was kind of my bedroom too now, I need to speak to her about our living arrangements because I don’t think she’s going to want to be without Erin one room away.

“Babe?” I asked quietly as I slowly opened the door, letting myself in to the dimly lit bedroom.

Once I was all the way in I noticed that the bed was empty and was exactly how I left it this morning “What the fuck?” I asked myself.

I left the room and hurried back downstairs, maybe she was in Erin’s working office from before.

Empty.

“Guys,” I said, my tone wavering more than I meant to let it when I walked into the room again to find everyone drinking their coffee and having a snack.

“What is it man?” Brian asked, walking over and placing a hand on my shoulder, he looked concerned.

“Hannah isn’t in bed,” I said and Erin jumped up, running upstairs.

“What do you mean she isn’t in bed?” Zack asked.

“Exactly what I said, Zack!” I snapped “She isn’t in bed, she isn’t in the office, the kitchen, out back and I sure as Hell don’t see her in here,”

“He’s not joking,” Erin whispered, walking back into the room and over to me and standing on my other side from Brian.

“Where could she have gone?” Jimmy asked himself, tapping a long finger on his chin as he paced the room “Does she have her phone on her?” I opened my mouth to tell him that she would but Erin spoke first.

“No,” She said “I threw both our cells out of the car so nobody could keep tracking us,” She rubbed her face and groaned into the palms of her hands.

“Fuck,” I muttered and then it dawned on me… “Johnny,” I growled “What do you know about this?”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Jimmy said, jumping to stand in front of me as I moved quickly for the shorty “Why would he have anything to do with this?”

“He told me hours ago that she went to lay down, but that bed is still made and hasn’t been touched since I made it this morning,”

Johnny rubbed his face with his hands and then looked at me with a sorrowful look on his face.

“She talked me into it man,” He said quickly, defending himself “She said that she needed to get out of the house, and she made me promise not to say anything, she didn’t say where she was going but she-“ He was cut off when my phone started ringing in my pocket, it was… Hannah?

“Who the fuck is this?” I growled into the phone as I answered it and put it onto speaker phone.

“I don’t think you want to speak to me like that, buddy,” A voice said, an unfamiliar voice, a guy.

“How did you get this phone?” I asked.

“Erin may have thrown the phones out of the car, but she didn’t run them over,” He chuckled and I looked at Erin who was slapping her own forehead and muttering ‘stupid, stupid, stupid’
to herself.

“Why are you calling me?” I asked.

“Because,” I could hear the smirk in his voice “We’ve got your girl,” *click*

“He hung up,” I said, shocked.

Brian’s phone made it’s notification noise and we all turned to him as he slowly pulled it out of his pocket and unlocked it.

“It’s a picture message,” I could practically see him cringing.

“Open it,” I said.

He hesitated, sighed and then complied, opening the message and his face fell, all colour drained from it and then he turned almost green, he looked like he was going to throw up.

“What is-“ Erin didn’t finish her question when she looked at his phone, she gasped and covered her mouth instead.

“Let me see,” I said lowly, holding out my hand for the phone.

“Matt, you really don’t want to-“

“Let me see!” I yelled making everyone jump, but he slowly handed me his phone.

The message contained a picture of Hannah with the caption ‘Isn’t she gorgeous?’ she was tied to a chair, her head was being held up by her hair and she was bruised and bloody, she had a knife stuck in her thigh and she had no colour in her skin what so ever. She was almost dead.

I hit the call button in the top right and it started calling Erin’s cell.

“Ah Matt,” The voice on the other end of the line was Sarah’s “Did you like my picture?”

Brian jumped onto one of the computers and immediately started tracing the call.

“What do you want with her?” I growled “What did she ever do to you?”

“It’s not her that I want, but she is fun to play with,” She said sweetly “It’s my darling sister, but remember, I told her I would destroy everything she loved first,” *click*

“These assholes need to stop hanging up on me,” I grumbled “Did we get her?” Brian nodded.

“Let’s go,” Erin said, her voice choked with tears that were already streaming down her face.

“Wait,” I said, pulling Erin to my chest and holding her, she was tense at first but then she melted into me and sobbed into my chest “They’re going to be expecting us, we need as many people as we can get,”
