Lex's P.O.V.

When I walked out of my station to head home, I got this weird feeling. The whole entire room was filled with tension. And I didn't know what it meant.

“Night, Zoe.” I didn't even look her in the eye before heading out. I kept my eyes to the ground before running into someone. “Oh, sorry. I wasn't paying any attention.” I looked up and I saw Brian. “Brian, what in the world are you doing here?”

“I was just casually strolling by.” He smirked.

“No, you can't be here.”

“Why?”

“I can't see you right now.” I threw my hands in the air and walked passed him.

“Lex, we're not doing anything wrong. Friends can't just run into each other?”

I turned around and looked at him. “The thing is we are NOT friends. What if Zoe walks out right now and sees us? Her first thought will be that I'm cheating again. She'll go blab her mouth and then BAM my life is over again.”

“You're life wouldn't be over because you wouldn't lose me.”

“But then I'm a bitch. It would mean I left Zack for you. Something everybody always told me I was going to do.”

“So then why don't you just do it?” He snapped.

“You know I can't. Dammit, Brian! We haven't even done this that long and already you're baggering me about it.”

“Well I want a fair share.”

“What do you mean a fair share? Everybody knows our friendship isn't that great. You can't just waltz into my job and except people to be suspicious.”

“So I can find excuses to stop by. It doesn't have to be me saying 'oh, I'm just here to see Lex'. Of fucking course that will raise suspicion. But see me running into you like this wasn't my intention at all. I was going to the fucking coffee shop three doors down. I didn't know what time you got off.”

“You did too. Stop being childish. This is why you make it difficult to be with you. Now, I'm leaving. I have a date tonight with my boyfriend.” I turned on my heels and walked away. This time Brian didn't stop me and quite frankly, I was happy.

Zoe's P.O.V.

And there's my answer right there. Brian. Her reaction and his reaction made it obvious. She should've been more smart about it. Having a fight right in front of her job screams her secret. I just don't know what I should do now. I want to sit back and watch everything unfold, but then I want to tell Zack to save himself a heartbreak. Or maybe I can even try and win Brian back and ruin Lex's life anyway. God women are devious. I laughed to myself. I saw Brian still standing out there while Lex walked away. I jumped up real quick.

“Ian, I'm leaving!” I grabbed my bag and hurried out the door. Right when I got out the door, Brian turned around and started walking. “Brian? What are you doing here?” He looked pissed.

“I, uh, am just getting some coffee.”

“Mind if I join you?”

He sighed. “I don't know if that's such a great idea right now.”

“It can't hurt can it?” I smiled at him.

“I guess not.” He shrugged and we started walking to the coffee shop.

“So how have you been? It's been awhile...”

“Yeah, I know it has. There's a reason for it though, you know?”

“Don't have to be so cruel.”

“Sorry, I'm just not in the greatest of moods right now.”

“I saw that you had it out with Lex.” He opened the door to the coffee shop and we both entered.

“Yeah. The same old stuff.” The lady behind the counter took our order and we sat down at a table.

“I didn't even know you guys still talked. I mean after everything that happened and everything.” I lied.

“We're best friends. We always will be. We may have our disagreements, but it doesn't mean that we don't love each other.”

“She's the reason you dumped me.”

“Yes, she is. I won't sugarcoat it for you.”

“Why her?”

“Because I've been in love with her since I was thirteen.”

“But she's done you so wrong.”

“She's done a lot of people wrong, but look at what people have done to her.”

“She doesn't deserve half the shit she has.”

“Do you even realize what you just said?”

“Yes, I do. Lex gets everything she fucking wants and doesn't deserve it. She betrays people. She's constantly in the wrong.”

“No, you're in the wrong. You're just a jealous bitch. Do you realize what she has gone through? Do you realize the shit she's had to endure to even get her to be that way? Have you lost a child? No. Have you been abused? No. Have you constantly been walked on your entire life? No. So you need to think about the words you're saying before you say them. You stupid bitch.” He stood up.

“I know about you two. I'm not stupid. I can easily go and tell Zack and your little white picket fence life will be over, Brian.” He looked at me.

“You don't know anything. Go ahead and blab your big ass mouth to Zack, because there's absolutely nothing to tell.” He stormed off.

Well geez, that plan failed.

Sorry for the late update. I spent the last few weeks finishing up this story completely. And then I just didn't wanna post because in all honesty I don't want it to be over... I've been writing this story since I was a sophomore in high school... I am now a freshman in college... This is my baby. Anyway, there's like only ten or so more chapters. Let me know what you think :)
