Brian's P.O.V.

Shit. Lex is going to kill me. Zoe knows. I played it as cool as I could, but she will probably see passed that. We're fucked.

I hurried up and walked back to my car and got in. I started it up and immediately called Lex's phone, hoping that she would answer.

Hey this is Lex, leave a message

Shit... the date.

Lex's P.O.V.

I was furious leaving work. I couldn't believe Brian showed up like that. Everything was at stake there. Everything. If Zoe saw, god I'm dead. But I can't think about it now. Once I got on the road towards my apartment, I called Zack.

“Hey, baby.” He answered.

“Hey, I'm almost to my apartment now.”

“I'm already here.” I could hear his smile through the phone.

“Okay, love you.”

“Love you too.” I hung up and sped home.

Once I got there, Zack was sitting on the porch with a vase full of a dozen pink roses. My face lit up and a smile grew on my face. He was so sweet. I got out of my car and walked up to him.

“Those are gorgeous.” I beamed.

“I figured I could give you a little something.” He smiled. I grabbed them from him and smelled them. That was when I saw the glistening metal. Uh oh.

“Zee, what is this?” I asked.

“It's your engagement ring.”

“I know what it is, but why are you giving it to me?”

“I figured you could wear it again.” He shrugged.

“Do you think we're ready for that yet?”

“I really do, Lex. I know we've had our downfalls. I know that we keep going back and forth, but I think we both know what we want now. And that's each other.” He grabbed the ring out of the roses. “Lex, I love you so much. When you left, I just couldn't handle it. I don't ever want to feel that pain again. I want you to be with me 'til the end of time. And this ring shows that. This ring will bring us back where we belong. So Lex, baby, will you marry me, again?”

I smiled at him. I could see and hear the love in his words. “Yes, I will, Zack.” He just smiled back at me and slipped the ring on my finger again. And it felt like that was where it belong. This was where I belong.

And that was when my phone started to ring... Brian. I hit ignore and opened the door for Zack and I. He needs to respect our relationship to. I can't believe this is all coming unglued already. I knew this was a bad idea.

“So what are our plans tonight?” I asked.

“Just gonna go out for a nice dinner.”

“That sounds great.” I smiled and we walked out the door.
