It’s been a week since Zack and I agreed to start dating. He was released from the hospital with flying colors the day after we had talked. So far things were going really good. Tonight would be the first date we’re going on and we’re going to go with everyone. I invited Casey and Zack of course invited all the guys and their girls. I didn’t know how well this was going to play out, but I guess we’ll just have to see.

My phone started buzzing while I was in the middle of curling my hair.

“Hello?” I answered.

“Are you still getting ready?” Zack whined playfully.

I laughed. “Duh, you know me.”

“Well I’ll be over there in about fifteen minutes so be ready.” I could almost feel himself winking.

“Don’t be winking at me mister.” I laughed childishly. “I’ll be ready.” I hung the phone up and called the number Casey called me from.

“Hello?” She answered.

“Hola, we’re going to be leaving in about fifteen minutes. Do you want me to give you my address and you just drive here and drop your car off or do you want us to pick you up?”

“Can you just pick me up? I live in the Ocean Breeze Villas.”

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah? Why?” She laughed.

“That’s where I live.”

“And we seriously are just now figuring this out. What number?”

“1203.”

“I live in 1704.”

“Well then just walk over here and Zack should be here in fifteen minutes to pick us up.”

“That sounds good! See you in a minute.” I hung up and finished up my hair. I was currently wearing a sequined silver dress with some flat sandals and some jewelry. A knock came across the door and I went and answered it. Casey was standing there looking a little awkward but excited.

“You look gorgeous.” I sang out the gorgeous.

“Thank you.” She smiled. “You look pretty swell yourself.”

I laughed. “You can have a seat. I still have a little touching up to do and then I’ll be ready.” She nodded and walked in and sat down. I went back to the bathroom and finished up getting ready. Right when I walked out the door, Zack knocked. I walked over and opened the door.

“Well doesn’t someone look sexy?” He winked at me.

“Hey now. What did I tell you about that winking?” He laughed and shook his head. I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a kiss. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too, Lex.” I pulled away.

“This is Casey. The girl I was telling you about that I met at the shop.”

“Why hello Casey. I’m Zack.” He extended his hand and she gladly shook it.

“I know who you are.” She laughed. “But you don’t have to worry about me. I’m not a crazed fangirl.”

“Good.”

“Casey just needs a good time.”

“Well if it’s anyone that can give her one it would be us.” He laughed. “Let’s get out of here.” We both nodded and walked out with Zack. We got into his car and drove towards the club the guys always go to.

Once we got there, we all got out and found the guys. I happily said hello to everyone, minus Johnny and Brian because they haven’t arrived yet. They all were excited to see me because other than Matt and Val no one has.

“Lex, who’s this?” Jimmy asked pointing at Casey.

“Oh my god. I’m so sorry. Guys this is Casey. I met her a week ago at the shop. She used to be married to a rockstar and got a divorce. She’s looking for a good time, but don’t send her running. She’s a friend.” I laughed. Everyone said a hello to her and went on about their business.

“Lex, I need to talk to you.” Val whispered in my ear. I looked at her confused but then agreed.

“Sweetie, Val needs to talk to me so we’re going to step outside for a minute.”

“No funny business.” I laughed and shook my head and Val and I walked off. Once we were outside I didn’t hesitate to see what was going on.

“What’s going on?”

“I just wanted to tell you before they got here that Brian’s back with my sister.”

“Oh, really? That’s a shocker.” I laughed sarcastically.

“You’re fine with it?”

“Val I told you, I’m over him. I got the glory of having one more chance with Zack. I’m not going to ruin it this time.”

“Okay, then. I guess this was utterly pointless.” She laughed.

“You were just looking out for me. Thank you.” I smiled and then we went back inside.

“Everything okay?” Zack asked as I sat down next to him.

“Mhm.” I smiled at him.

“Lex?” I heard that familiar voice behind me. “You’re back?” I turned around and saw Brian with Michelle attached to his arm.

“Yes, Brian.” I smiled. There was a slight feeling of jealousy coursing through my veins. It didn’t bother me a lot, but it did bother me somewhat.

“Well why didn’t you tell me?” He asked. I held up a finger telling him to hang on one second.

“Zack, let me go explain to him everything. I won’t mess around. Just a civil conversation. If you want I’ll stand over there where you can see the both of us.”

“Don’t worry, Lex. I trust you.” He smiled and I got up.

“Come with me.” I led Brian outside so we could hear. I’m sure Zack wouldn’t mind that at all. He did say he trusted me.

“Were you ever going to tell me?” He asked once the door shut.

“I wasn’t going to physically tell you, no. I was just going to be here whenever you happened to show up. It isn’t your business if I’m back or not. Besides you’re back with Michelle.” I said the last sentence with a little bit of hostility.

“Well why are you back?”

“Why do you think I’m back dumbass?” I rolled my eyes. “Zack and I are back together. We’re going to make it work this time. No funny business.”

“And you really think that is going to work?”

“Look Brian what happened won’t happen again. After I moved I was miserable. All I could ever think about was Zack and Avery. I never once thought about you. That was when I knew that I didn’t love you at all. I love Zack. I really do.”

“So all the shit you said was lies?”

“It wasn’t lies, Brian. I felt them at the time, but it was just misunderstood. You were my first love for christ sake. We just aren’t meant to be together. Zack and I were forced together when our relationship started. I wanted to make you jealous. It was just a big plot to get your attention, but when you pissed me off I decided to stay with Zack. I fell in love with him for all the wrong reasons. But while I was living my new life that I thought I needed, I craved Zack. Not you. I fucked up before, but I won’t fuck up now.”

“I don’t know what to say to that.”

“Why are you back with Michelle?” I changed the subject.

“Why does it matter?”

“She’s fucked you over more times than anyone in your life.”

“She’s the only one that loves me for me.”

I rolled my eyes. “Whatever, Brian. Haven’t you ever heard that saying “don’t make the same mistake twice”.

“Don’t worry about my relationship. It just so happens that you’re over me. You love Zack, remember.”

“And here we are back to the childish games again. Grow up, Brian. Why can’t we be civil towards each other? We’re always either trying to win each other back, fucking, or fighting. We can never be just friends.”

“That should be a sign to you.”

“A sign that we’re meant to be together?” I scoffed. “I threw myself at you Brian. I was ready to leave my entire life for you. I was on your doorstep begging for you to be with me and you refused. That’s your own goddamn fault.”

“You were with Zack.” He raised.

“Yeah and I am now, so you can walk back into that door and go back to your girlfriend and I will go back to my boyfriend. All this shit has to stop. I don’t love you anymore Brian and I don’t think I ever will again.” He stared at me for a moment before I turned and walked back inside. I sat back down next to Zack and he instantly noticed something was bothering me.

“What’s wrong?” He asked.

I shook my head. “Nothing. It’s just being a childish asshole as usual.”

“Well fuck it. Let’s get drunk.” He winked at me and we took our first shots.
