Forgotten Faces

Mia´s POV

We went back to the sitting area. “I definitely need another drink!”
Heather nodded, “Me too.”
“What can I get you ladies?” Matt smiled his dimple smile. He was in such a good mood today.
“I will take a Mojito. Thanks Matt.” Heather turned to Jimmy and kissed him. Jimmy pulled her into his body.
“I want… hmm…” I hadn’t made my decision when Matt interrupted me “Oh I know what you want… Sex on the beach?” He grinned at me. “Oh… you are such a tease. I will take a Caipirinha. Thank you.” I kissed one of his dimples after that he went to the bar.

I turned around and saw Brian sitting in the corner talking with Johnny but his eyes were on me. I took my time looking at him. His hair was a little longer than the last time I saw him. He was wearing his sunglasses so I couldn’t see his beautiful brown eyes.
He stood up and went over to where I was standing.
“Hi Mia… how are you?” He really tried to have small talk with me?!
“Hi Brian. I´m ok. And you?” “You seem to have a lot of fun today.” Brian made that sound like it was something wrong. “Yes, well... Why not we celebrate Jimmy and Heather tonight. And god knows I was miserable enough in the last weeks….” Oh fuck I didn’t want to say that…
Brian took his sunglasses off and looked into my eyes he opened his mouth to say something…
“Here is your drink, babe. Oh hey Brian… what took you so long?!” Matt was standing beside me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I could see Brian´s eyes narrow at him.
“Well, I had some important things to do… and you havening FUN Matt?!” Brian grabbed Matt´s arm and took it off my shoulder.
“Absolutely with this beautiful girl as my date for the evening it can’t be any better. Or what do you think?” Matt smiled at Brian but I saw the glint in his eyes.
“Would you two excuse me I need to talk to Heather…” I quickly went over to Jimmy and Heather who were cuddling in the corner.
“Sorry to interrupt you. Do you have a moment?”
Jimmy looked up, “Sure… What´s up?!”
“Brian seems to be upset or I don’t know maybe jealous because I was spending time with Matt, I think. I really don’t know what I should think about that. Do you… I mean is there a chance that Brian might want me back? Jimmy you know Brian better than anybody, what do you think…?!”
“Oh Mia… a couple of days ago I would have said yes. But I don´t know if should say it.. Ah fuck… today I was at Brian´s house to remind him of the party. Well and he had a girl over… I mean I don’t think that it meant anything to him you know… it was not that kind of girl… it was different.”
“He already had someone knew… and I thought… I´m so stupid I can´t believe it. Thanks Jimmy…”
I went over to the bar and ordered some more Shots. How could I think that Brian still wants me back? I needed to numb all those stupid feelings!

I made my way to the dance floor again and motioned Matt to follow. He grabbed my hips and we danced for a couple of songs, than I noticed that he kissed my shoulder slowly wandering up. I enjoyed the feeling that’s when I opened my eyes and saw Brian a few feet away dancing with some chick. His eyes met mine. He grabbed the girl and pulled her into his arms. Then he kissed her… I couldn’t believe it. I turned around and gave my whole attention to Matt who was such a great guy. I concentrated on the feelings that Matt´s strong arms gave me. But every time I opened my eyes again I saw Brian with that girl dancing in front of us.
Matt kissed my ear, “When you wanna go just say it, I will have somebody drive us home. I could think off a lot of things we can do better at home…”
I heard the invitation loud and clear. Maybe with another drink I could just let me fall into his arms and forget everything else. “Let me get one last drink, than we can go…”
“Ok, I´ll organize us a car. Be right back.” Matt gave me a small kiss on the lips and went to the door.

I went over to the bar for my last drink. When I looked over the other people at the bar I suddenly saw Brian sitting there alone with a glass of scotch in his hands. He seemed in thoughts. Then he turned his head up and looked my way as if sensing me watching him.
He walked to me. “I´m sorry Mia to be honest I don’t know how to react in your presence. I would love to just kiss you and forget everything. But…”
“You what… after you already were with another? And I don’t mean the making out on the dance floor just now.”
“What? I was not with another. I… me making out? What was that with Matt just a couple of minutes ago? That wasn’t making out?! Are you kidding me?” He seemed jealous.
“Why do you care anyway? Just leave me alone! You made it pretty clear that you didn’t want to be with me anymore. Just go…”
He really turned around and I leaned over the bar to grab another drink.

Brian`s POV

I will make it clear to her that we needed to talk about this again. I turned back around and saw that she was looking to the exit. Waiting for Matt maybe…
A guy leaned over her shoulder and slipped something into her drink.
She turned back around and grabbed her drink. Oh fuck no!
“Don’t drink that!” I shouted and sprinted over to her. But she already had the glass on her lips.
