Chapter Eleven
It was out third day in New Zealand and we decided we were going to go to 90 Mile beach and swim a bit. I was awake before Brayden so I decided to let her sleep in for a bit and I was going to take a shower. I hopped in the shower and thought, we have had a great first three days, somehow the news got out about us going there and we were swarmed by people as soon as we got off of the plane, Brayden looked so freaked out it sort of scared some of the fans. I closed my eyes and let the hot water wash over me. Suddenly I was startled by a cold hand touching my chest.
“Holy shit babe you scared me.” I half yelled
“Sorry.” She said her voice croaking
“Are you okay?” I asked
“Yeah I’m fine just a little home six ya know?” She asked “
You’re not homesick. You miss Payson.” I smiled
She nodded and I pulled her cold body under the hot water and to my chest.
“Three more days’ baby.” I said
She nodded
. “Are we still going to Ninety Mile?” She asked
“If you still want to.” I said
“I do.” She said
“Then yes we are. I for one need to get some tan on my paleness.” I said
“You’re going to burn.” She said
“Nah, I’ll tan.” I said
Who am I kidding? I’m going to be a lobster.
After our shower we got dressed and drove the thrity minute or so drive to 90 mile beach,
“God this is beautiful.” Brayden said
“I agree.” I said
We spent the day at the beach, he getting an amazing tan and me burning like toast in a broken shitty ass toaster. When we got back to the place we were staying at it hurt for me to move.
“Come to the kitchen, I’ll put Aloe Vera on it and we’ll go lay down in the very cold bedroom.” She said
I nodded and followed her into the kitchen and she put that nastyass green shit all over me, we let it dry for a bit and went into the bedroom where we had the air conditioner set to very cold. The rest of the week went by fast and by the time we knew it we were sitting on a plane that’s getting ready to take off. Brayden was bouncing in her seat.
“You’re so fucking tan.” I said
“And you’re so fucking red.” She smiled
I laughed because it was so true, I’m so sunburnt.
“So.” I nudged her arm
She ignored me because the plane was taking off. About an hour into our flight I did it again.
“Hey.” I nudged her arm
“Yes Mr. Sullivan?” She smiled
“Well Mrs. Sullivan.” I smiled
“I was completely seriously wondering if you were a part of the mile high club?” I asked
She looked at me with her jaw basically in her lap and she laughed.
“No baby I’m not but I’m not letting you earn your Red Wings.” I said
“Excuse me you two but there are children on this plane.” An older lady behind us said
“Well they don’t know what the mile high club and red wings are so how about you butt out of our conversation.” Brayden said
“Snippy. And that was a nice way to tell me you’re on your period and not pregnant.” I smiled
She rolled her eyes and laid her head on my shoulder, she was asleep less then ten minutes after.
“Brayden it’s time to go home.” I said waking her up
She groaned and got up, I grabbed our bags and we headed out into the parking lot of the airport and to her car which was parked in the lot. It was only about three in the afternoon.
“Want to invite them over?” She asked
“You read my mind baby.” I said
She smiled and we got into the car and she turned her phone on and called Val, putting her on speaker phone.
“Hey Babes how’s it going? I can’t wait to see you again we miss you.” Val said
“We miss you guys too. Head to our house we’re almost there.” I said
“YOU’RE HOME!!! OH MY GOD!!! WE’RE ON OUR WAY!!” She screamed
“I’ll see you then my dear.” Brayden said
She hung up and I looked at her.
“What?” She asked
“I’m just happy to call you my wife.” I said
“I know. Baby look how far we’ve gotten. I was once and abused teenage who ran away and just by luck got picked up by the nicest group of guys. When I first woke up on the bus in the back before I knew where I was I thought I was kidnapped and you guys were going to sell me as a sex slave.” She said
“I think all girls are programmed to think that baby.” I said
We stopped at the same red light as we did seven days ago so I looked around to see if that fucking creep was following us
. “Can we file a restraining order?” I asked
“Against?” She asked
“Your dad.” I said
She froze up and looked around outside.
“No because I know he will try harder to get me if he has a legal contrast that says he can’t come near me or he’ll go to jail. He doesn’t care, he just wants me dead.” She said
I nodded and the light turned green, we drove home and everyone was waiting on our front porch for us. Brayden got out and ran to Val.
“YOU’RE SO TAN!!” Val screamed
“I know right. Jimmy’s a lobster.” Brayden smiled.
I took out bags out and walked them up and unlocked the house and set the bags on the floor inside of the door.
“Let’s go in.” Brian said holding Nathan in one hand and Madison’s hand in the other
. “Where’s my baby?” I asked
“I have her.” Brayden said holding Payson.
I smiled at her for being so happy to be home and we all went in. eventually we put Payson to bed and my phone started ringing.
“Where’s my phone?” I asked
“Kitchen counter.” Matt said
Brayden was sitting with Val talking about her awesome tan she got. I walked into the kitchen and picked up my phone. A number that wasn’t programmed into my phone but I knew the number.
“What do you want?” I asked
“Awh Jimmy baby what’s the matter?” She asked
“Lea leave me alone.” I said
“But baby, I know it’s been a while but I’ll get that bitch back for that bar fight.” She said
“Don’t touch my wife.” I said
“You married her! You married her!” She cried
“Yes.” I said
“Oh her dad says he’ll get to her. Do you want to talk to him he’s right here?” She asked
I was officially pissed.
“James how was the honeymoon?” He asked
“Don’t talk to me like we’re friends. Just leave us the fuck alone or I’ll get a restraining order.” I said
“Listen to my useless daughter, that will only make me come after her faster. I don’t care if I go to jail I just want her dead and so does your ex here.” He said
How did he know that.
“Before you ask how I knew she said that. Your windows were down at the red light.” He said
“I looked you weren’t around.” I said
“The couple on the motorcycle. Lea and I. James don’t ever doubt me. I know where you are at all times.” He said
I was fuming.
“Back to our conversation baby. You married the cunt that broke my nose?” Lea asked
“Lea just leave us the fuck alone.” I said calmly.
“Oh baby am I getting you heated. Listen to me Jimmy, I know you don’t love her, I know you still love me.” She said
“How could I still love the bitch that broke my heart in the first place?” I asked
“How did I break your heart?” She asked
“Are you fucking stupid bitch? Being cheated on multiple times doesn’t fucking feel good. I’m happy now just leave my family alone.” I said
“A family is a married couple and kids.” She said
“They have a daughter.” I heard her dad said
“Ouh a new target.” She said
“You fucking leave my girls alone.” I growled
“Some ones mad. Baby I’ll see you soon.” She said
She hung up and I slammed my phone down on the counter
. I was pissed, no I was beyond pissed
. “Jimmy?” I heard a small voice
I ignored it so I wouldn’t snap, but they continued to call my name
“Jim?” It asked Ignored it.
“Jimmy?” Was asked again
That’s it I was snapped.
“WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?!” I snapped raising my fist and slapping the counter
I turned and Brayden was staring at we wide eyed looking at my raised fist in punching position.
“Oh shit, baby I’m sorry.” I whispered dropping my hand and walking over to her
She was crying, I went to touch her and she jerked away.
“Don’t.” She said
“Baby.” I said
“Don’t touch me.” She cried.
She turned and ran up the stairs, Val glared at me and ran upstairs after her. I sank to the ground and Matt and Zacky came in to talk to me.
“Who pissed you off?” Matt asked
“Who was it on the phone?” Zacky asked
“Lea and Hank, they’re fucking working together now.” I said
They were both silent now knowing why I was pissed. A few moments later Val stomped down the stairs. “Way to go James.” She said
She had every right to be mad at me I let my anger get to me.
“She thought you were going to punch her! You would of if you hadn’t of looked to see who it was! You knew it wasn’t a guy anyways her voice is to high! She said you reminded her of her dad, she’s scared.” Val said
What the fuck did I just fucking do?
“Let that sink in. we’re all leaving.” Val said
Everyone got up and left, I locked the door and laid on the couch knowing that’s where I would be sleeping. The house was quiet and I heard her cries of fright from down here. I fucked up.
