I woke up the next day after it all happened, something I wish had been a dream. My dad got me after or wedding, he threatened to cut me if I screamed for help and what did I do? I screamed and he drug his knife across my chest to the car.t. That’s why I took my dress off, I didn’t want a lot of blood on it. I opened my eyes and turned into Jimmy’s chest.
“You awake baby?” He asked
“Sadly.” I said
“How are you feeling?” He asked
“Dizzy.” I said
“Let me get dressed and get you in some clothes, since you took the shirt off and we’ll go to the hospital.” He said
I nodded and he got up and got dressed, he helped me into some clothes and he picked me up and carried me out to the car.
“Just breathe deeply.” He said
“What am I going to say? My dad cut me?” I asked
“Yes.” He said
“Okay.” I said
I took a deep breath and then we were at the hospital and he was carrying me in.
“Oh god Jimmy what happened?” The girl at the counter asked
“I’ll explain in the room. I just need to see if she needs stitches.” He asked
“Her doctor is in her office.” She said “
Tell her we’re coming.” Jimmy said
The lady nodded and Jimmy carried me through the waiting room and into my doctor’s office.
“Welcome. Lay her on the table.” My doctor said
I couldn’t speak, I felt asleep but I could hear everything and see everything going on around me.
“Well she doesn’t need stitches its not that deep but shes a little disoriented from blood loss so we need to give her blood. Do you recall her blood type?” She asked
“Uhm I know it’s really rare.” Jimmy said
AB Negative Jimmy!!! AB Negative! I wanted to scream out, but I couldn’t talk.
“AB Negative?” The doctor asked
“That’s it.” Jimmy said
“I’ll be right back.” The doctor said
Jimmy nodded and looked down at me. my eyes slowly closed, I was asleep… I think.
“Hey Baby girl wake up.” I heard softly in my ear.
I opened my eyes and Jimmy was leaning down in my face.
“Morning.” He said “Morning.” I said
“How are you feeling?” He asked
“What time is it?” I asked He laughed.
“It’s only noon.” He said
I nodded.
“I’m feeling okay. No dizziness. And I can’t believe you couldn’t remember my blood type.” I said
“Do you know mine?” He asked
“A Positive.” I said
“Not bad.” He said
“Hmm do you know my favorite colors?” I asked
“Same as mine. Purple and Black.” He said
I smiled and he kissed my nose.
“We’re leaving tomorrow.” He said
“For where?” I asked
“New Zealand.” He said
“We don’t leave for another four days.” I said
“I changed it.” He said
“Why?” I asked
“Your dad. I know you are scared you’re just not showing it. Brayden I know you, and honestly I’m a little worried. I don’t know how he got past the security guards that were posted everywhere. I don’t want you hurt so we’re getting out of the country early.” He said
I nodded and looked him in the eye.
“Let’s go to lunch with Madison and Brian and then go to Matt and take Payson to Val and Matt’s and then come home and pack and sleep so we can leave on time.” Jimmy said
I nodded and sat up.
“Wait does anyone know we changed the location of the Honeymoon?” I asked
“I don’t think so. Wait… Madison and Brian know.” He said
“I’ll tell Val when we drop off Payson.” I said
He helped me up and I went and got dressed.
“Brian, Madison, Nathan, and Payson are already at the restaurant.” Jimmy said
I nodded and he looked at me.
“Are you wearing that shirt?” He asked
“Yeah?” I asked
“Your cut.” He said
“It’s going to show in any of my clothes babe.” I said
“Okay.” He sighed
“What’s wrong Jimmy. We’re not going anywhere until you tell me.” I said shutting the front door.
“I just.” He said looking down at me.
“Just what?” I asked
“I just don’t want people to think that I did it. Or that I wasn’t watching over you after the wedding and your dad tried to kill you.” He said
I took his hand in mine and walked him over to the couch. He sat down and looked at me; I straddled his lap, put my hands on his shoulders and looked him in the eye.
“No one’s going to think you did it and if they do, I’ll talk to them. Baby I’m not going to let anyone think that of you, I will go change into one of your shirts.” I said
He put his left hand on the back of my neck and pulled my dace to his and pressed his lips to mine.
“You don’t have to change.” He said
“Are you sure?” I asked
“I’m positive. You can’t see it that much.” He said
“Okay.” I said
He smiled at me and kissed my neck, my hands found their way to his hair.
“Jim I don’t need to be hot and bothered at lunch.” I said
He laughed into my neck and I stood up.
“Let’s go.” He said
I nodded and grabbed the bag that he had packed of Payson’s stuff for Val’s house. He grabbed his keys and we left locking up the house. We pulled into this Italian Restaurant.
“We’re the rest of the Haner Party.” Jimmy said at the podium thingy.
“Right this way sir.” The hostess sai
d She was eyeing my cut. She led us over to Brain, Madison and the babies.
“Hey Beast and the Harlot.” Madison said
“Hey don’t call Brayden a Beast.” Jimmy said
“I was talking to you my tall friend.” Madison said
I sat next to Madison and Jimmy.
“How bad does it hurt?” Brian asked
“Not much until I move in an odd way or wind touches it. I don’t want to know what it feels like when I go to take a shower.” I said
He nodded.
Little conversations went on during lunch, when we were finished Jimmy loaded Payson into the car and we drove to Val’s. I got Payson out of the car seat and walked up to the front door with her in my arms. I just walked into the house.
“Special Delivery for Valary Sanders!” I call through the house.
“Ouh Bray! Babe what’d you bring me?!” She called back
“My daughter!” I laughed
“Payson.” Val said running into the room.
“What the fuck happened to you?” She asked
“My dad got me after the wedding. Cut me with a knife.” I said
She took Payson and gave her to Matt, Matt disappeared upstairs.
“We have a crib upstairs.” She said
I smiled.
“So Nathan is three months, Payson is six right?” She asked
I nodded.
“So why today?” She asked
“We’re leaving tomorrow.” I said
“Why?” She asked
“For me. I’m scared to be in the sates cause of last night.” I said
She nodded.
“We’re going to New Zealand by the way.” I said
“What happened to Paris?” She asked
“We changed our minds.” I said
“Well go pack. Have fun girl.” She said
I hugged her and smiled.
“Here’s the bag of clothes for her.” I said handing her the back pack.
I walked back out to the car and Jimmy and I left. As we were driving we stopped at a red light and I was looking out my window and my dad was sitting in his car right next to us. I started to freak out.
“Brayden. Baby. Look at me.” Jimmy said
I couldn’t peel my eyes away from my father.
“Brayden!” Jimmy shouted.
The light turned green and Jimmy sped off. We pulled in our driveway and he got out and came around to my side of the car. I was hyperventilating, he got on his knees after opening my door and he took my hands in his.
“Baby, calm down and breathe. He’s not going to get you. We’re going across the world tomorrow morning. Breathe please.” He pleaded.
I took a breath and fell into his welcoming arm
s. “Lets go pack.” I said standing up.
He followed me into the house and we pack our stuff and went to bed.
