Welcome To The Family.

Chapter Nine

I’m standing in front of a bunch of people all dressed up, I was dressed up as well. My heart is beating so fast that Brian has to whisper to me to calm me down, he’s dressed up as well and holding Nathan who was wearing a Tuxedo onesie.
‘Ready?’ Brian mouthed
I nodded.
I took a deep breath and the wedding march began to play. Val came out in an amazing dark purple dress with Payson in her arms. Payson had on a little blue dress. She smiled at me and the rest of the girls came out, Madison, Gena and Lacey. Madison with Matt on her arm, Gena with Zacky on her arm and Lacey with Johnny on her arm. They split up and Matt and Johnny came and stood next to Brian, Zacky stood next to the Pastor, the girls in line next to Val. The march started over and I took a deep breath and Brayden started to walked out with Papa Gates on her arm. She looked breath-taking in her dress, it was beautiful. Papa gave her away to me and I couldn’t get rid of the smile on my face.
“You look amazing.” I whispered
She smiled and I took her hand and we turned to the pastor and Zacky. As the pastor spoke I couldn’t help glancing at Brayden every few minutes, she just looked amazing. Brian tapped my shoulder and handed me her wedding ring. I looked at the pastor and he handed the little microphone to Zacky, Zacky cleared his throat and music from A Little Piece of Heaven started.
“Now do you take this man till death for the rest of your life?” Zacky asked in the creepy voice he uses in A Little Piece of Heaven, just changing the words a bit.
“Yes, I do.” Brayden said
“Now do you take this woman till death for the rest of your life?” Zacky asked me.
“I do.” I said
Zacky gave the microphone back to the pastor and the music kept going.
“James will you place the ring on Brayden’s finger.” The pastor said
I took the ring and slid it on her finger in front of her engagement ring.
“Brayden will you place the ring on James’s finger.” The pastor said
Brayden smiled and slid the ring on my finger. The pastor gave the microphone back to Zacky.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride.” Zacky said in the same voice.
Brayden smiled and I pulled her face to mine and kissed her. Everyone cheered and clapped.
“I love you.” I said
“I love you too.” She said
Val handed her Payson and Madison took Nathan and they smiled at each other.
“We’re going to go feed the babies and put them to bed then we’ll be at the reception.” Brayden said I smiled and they walked away.
“Lets go.” Brian said
“Hey Val when do I get to know what the cake looks like?” I asked
“When Brayden gets to.” She said
“Bray doesn’t know?” I asked
“Nope.” She smiled
About a half an hour later Brayden and Madison came into the reception kidless and Brayden ran over to me and jumped in my arms.
“Hello.” I said catching her
“Hello husband.” She said
I set her down and she fixed the bottom of the wedding dress.
“When I pictured the wedding dress you were going to but I didn’t picture one like this. I sort of pictured like a mermaid style but I absolutely love this one.” I said playing with the bottom of her dress.
“I put this on and loved it. The girls said you would love the top part.” She said
“I love it all baby.” I said She smiled and kissed me.
“Now the bride and grooms first dance.” Brian said
I took Brayden’s hand and led her to the dance floor while I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing by Areosmith started to play. She laid her head on my shoulder.
“I could stay awake just to hear you breathing, watch you smile while you are sleeping while you’re far away and dreaming. I could spend my life in this sweet surrender. I could stay lost in this moment forever. Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure.” I sang to her
She looked up at me.
“I don’t want to close my eyes, I don’t want to fall asleep cause I’d miss you baby and I don’t want to miss a thing. Cause even when I dream of you, the sweetest dream will never do, I’d miss you baby and I don’t want to miss a thing.” She sang to me
We danced with the rest of the song.
“Can I take your garter off?” I asked
She smiled and nodded, we walked over to a chair and she sat down. I moved the poof of the wedding dress away and realized she had white converse on. I laughed a little and took the garter in my teeth and pulled it down her thigh and over her knee. Everyone gathered around and the guys were smiling. I pulled it all the way off and fixed her dress.
“Throw it.” Val said
I smiled and threw it, Zacky caught it.
“I’m going to throw the bouquet. Then we’ll eat.” Brayden said
She stood up and threw the flowers to the girls, as if fate wants Zacky to marry next Gena caught them. After all of that we sat down and ate dinner, Brayden being careful not to drop anything on the dress.
“Cake time!” Val shouted.
I smiled at Brayden
“Do you know what it looks like?” She asked me
“No.” I said
She smiled and Val pulled her and I to a standing position.
“Cover your eyes.” She said
We both covered our eyes.
“Open.” Val said
We both opened our eyes and the cake was pretty fucking sweet, it was music themed.
“I love it!” Brayden said
“It’s pretty fucking cool.” I said
Val laughed and gave me the knife. I cut two pieces and fed one to Brayden, I wasn’t going to shove it in her face. I opened my mouth to eat the piece she was feeding me and to my surprise she shoved it in my face.
“Not cool.” I laughed
She daced in a circle.
“Hey babe?” I asked
“Yes my cake faced husband?” She asked
“I love you.” I said
“I love you TOO!” She screamed too because I wiped cake on her face.
The party went on and eventually everyone went home.
“I’ll go get Payson meet me by the car.” I said
She nodded and we went our separate ways. I got Payson and Brain was in there getting Nathan.
“Let’s walk to our cars together.” He said
I laughed and we started to walk out.
“Let go of me!” I heard Brayden scream. “
Give her here.” Brian said
I handed him Payson and sprinted out to the cars.
“Let go!” Brayden screamed
I got to her and her dad was yanking on her arm.
“Let her go!” I yelled
He looked up and flipped me off. I grabbed his shoulder and squeezed.
“Let go of her now!” I growled
He let go of her and she stumbled into the car. He took a swing at me and I dodged it and punched him in the face and he fell to the ground.
“Don’t come around again or you’ll get more than a fucking punch.” I said
“That punch didn’t hurt.” He said
I kicked him a few times.
“Now go or I’ll run you over with the fucking car.” I said
He got up and ran, I looked at Brayden and she was physically shaking.
“I’ll take Payson to my house.” Brian said
“Thank you. Do you need the car seat?” I asked
“No I’ve got an extra.” He said
I nodded and took Brayden’s face in my hands.
“Take me home.” She said shakily.
I nodded and helped her into the car. She started to take her dress off.
“What are you doing?” I asked
She didn’t answer she just took off her dress and threw it in the back and grabbed a t-shirt that appeared out of nowhere.
“I don’t want blood on my dress.” She said
“Are you bleeding?” I asked
She ignored me again and leaned her head on the window. My foot became lead and I sped home. When I got there I picked her up and helped her into the house.
“Where are you bleeding?” I asked
She pulled the shirt off and she had a cut along the top of her chest from dress strap to dress strap.I ran upstairs and grabbed some supplies and ran back down to her. She was still shaking, I patched her up and she fell into my chest. I picked her up and set her on the couch. I pulled my tux off and sat next to her in my boxers, I pulled her to my chest and ran my hand through her hair.
“On our wedding day.” She cried
“He won’t be coming back or I’ll hit him with a truck.” I said
She shook and cried in my arms until she fell asleep. I picked her up and carried her into our room. I covered us up and hugged her to my chest. My phone rang and I answered it.
“Hello?” I whispered
“Is she okay?” Brian asked
“No she’s shaken up, shes asleep right now but she’s going to be screwed up. We’re going to leave for our honeymoon a few days early to get her out of the country.” I said
“Is she hurt?” He asked
“Yeah the fucking bastard cut her chest from dress strap to dress strap.” I said
“He will die.” Brian said
“I’m gonna go to bed and just hold her okay?” I asked
“Okay.” Brian said
I hung up and held her tighter.
