No Pulse Inside of Me

Chapter 52

Third Person POV:
“Time for trial, judgement, and execution, you piece of shit.” Jacoby spat as him and Jim yanked Jeff from his chair. “Been waitin for this day a long time.” Jim said as they walked him up the stairs. Jeff kept his head hung low. He knew this day was coming. He went through massive withdraws while he sobered up in the basement, but in the end came out with a clear head. He seen the monster he had become, and truly had remorse, but he also knew he had to pay for what he’s done. Evil never goes unpunished. That’s what he was. Evil, heartless, and cruel, but yet she forgave him. He knew she didn’t do it for him. She needed to in order to let go, but it still eased him in a way. Knowing that she would finally be at peace.

They walked him out, Zacky closing the door behind them. Not everyone was participating. Kirk flew out even though he was retired now, it was a personal matter at this point, and the life never really leaves you. Jeff was being escorted by the four men he’s come to know in the worst possible way. Matt, Brian, and Tammy were waiting for them. Preparing an old run down barn they found randomly. Matt wanted to get this done. He had bigger things to handle. He found the barn a couple days after Jimmy got home. He went for a drive just needing time to clear his head. He wasn’t concerned about Disturbed. He wasn’t planning on stopping till he got back home. Besides something told him that he wasn’t going to be picked off early.

Matt wasn’t ashamed to admit that Jimmy was the most important person in the gang. Not just for what he could do, but because of the kind of soul he is. Without him the rest would probably crumble to Disturbed. He had an idea to Dave’s game, and he was pretty sure Johnny was the next target. Take out the one that makes everything happen, and then the one that keeps them alive. There was no doubt in his mind that the three of them, there right now in that barn, preparing for Jeff’s arrival, would be the last to go. He knew the twisted ways Dave’s mind worked. Matt would be first, Brian would be forced to watch Tammy suffer before he killed Brian in front of her, and then finish her. Destroy their entire world. Matt smirked to himself as he watched Jeff being escorted in. There was no way he was going to let that happen. He had the upper hand this time, and was good at playing games. Dave didn’t know two things, one: Jimmy was still alive, and two: Jimmy got the license plate has they sped away. He made a voice recording on his phone before the blood loss got too much. They had a location, and in the few days Jimmy’s been home he was already in their security system. Matt’s been watching them, watching his. He would get to them, but first he was going to send a message of his own. He already had something planned out, and Johnny was going to be his bate.

Tammy watched as Jacoby and Jim cuffed her father to the awaiting chair. She may have forgiven him, but she still had so much animosity towards him. She doesn’t exactly know what they’re going to do to him. She just needs to know it’s done in the end. She couldn’t save him even if she wanted to. Matt was the leader, and Jeff worked with the enemy against them. Ultimately it was Matt’s decision. “You could have redeemed yourself Jeff.” Matt started once he was secure. “You could have walked into that bar, and told us everything Disturbed was planning. We could have taken care of them that night, and all of this could have been avoided.” he said standing over the man. “I know.” Jeff choked out. “I didn’t tell you to speak.” Matt hissed at him, getting in his face. He cringed back a little, and looked down.

Tammy sat on an old hay bale out of the way. She’s made her peace with him. This was their show now. “May I have a few words with him Shadz?” Kirk asked placing a hand on his shoulder. Matt nodded, and stepped away. “You know when Jim told me about you, and what you were doing,” Kirk started. Tammy looked to Jim, and he smiled at her. She didn’t know that Jim brought Kirk to her. Jim told Kirk about her in hopes that he could help get her out of there, but Jeff had enough people in his back pocket to keep that from happening. “I couldn’t believe that someone would just throw away a chance to be a father.” he said looking down at him. “Not a lot of people know, but I had a chance to be a father once. Unfortunately it was ripped away from me when my wife and unborn child were killed by a drunk driver.” he said softly as he fought back tears. “We were having a girl.” Kirk whispered. He sighed and looked to Tammy with a soft smile. “But several years later I got that chance again.” he said Tammy returning his smile. “In a way I should thank you.” Kirk said look back to Jeff. “I couldn’t ask for a better person to call my daughter.” he said. “She came out strong in the end, but she didn’t come out cold. You couldn’t break her spirit, and if there is anyone here that’s going to take mercy on you, it’s her.” Kirk finished, stepping aside for someone else.

He wasn’t wrong, they all knew that, and when the beatings and torture started, her anxiety only built. As his screams pierced her ears, she began to realize it too. She couldn’t watch. Her stomach twisted in knots at the sight as nausea started to build. She just stared at the ground, her eyes closed tight to hold in the tears. The man did give her life after all, and there was still that bond between a child and their parent. She’s heard the sounds of suffering come from herself far too many times, and she didn’t like hearing it from someone else. She thought she could handle this, but she was wrong. She stood from the hay bale, and jetted out the door. She couldn’t be in there anymore, and maybe the screams wouldn’t be so loud.

Tammy quickly ran to the back of one of the SUV’s parked outside, and spewed the contents of her stomach. This just wasn’t something she could handle, the man is still her father. Brian followed Tammy outside, seeing she was upset, and not handling it well. He told her she didn’t have to come, but she insisted. He walked over, and held her hair, rubbing her back till she was done heaving. Tammy straitened, and wiped her mouth with the back of her sleeve. Brian wrapped his arms around her, and she turned, burying her face in his chest, letting the sobs out. Brian didn’t say a word as he held her tightly, knowing she just needed to let it out. She clinched tightly to his shirt as the screams continued to ring through her ears. She just wanted it to end.

Pushing herself out of Brian’s grasp, she walked quickly back to the barn. She couldn’t take it anymore. She pulled out her gun as she walked through the door. She locked her eyes on the bloody man that was her father as she walked to him, raising her gun without hesitation, and putting a single bullet in his head. Tammy dropped her gun, and collapsed to her knees, letting the sobs rake through her again. Kirk stood off to the side, a pained look on his face, as he watched the woman he calls his daughter cry for the man that gave her life. Not a word was said as the six men gave her space to weep.

Soon after, Tammy’s sobs quieted, and her tears ran dry. She felt the familiar arms of Brian wrap around her waist as he lifted her to her feet. “We need to finish this.” he whispered. Tammy nodded keeping her eyes on the ground as Brian lead her to the car. Jacoby picked up her gun laying in front of the dead man, and tucked it in the back of his pants. The men picked up the gas cans setting in the corner, and soaked the place down. Brian opened the back door for Tammy, and helped her inside the vehicle. He placed a kiss on her forehead before closing the door, and helping the others. She lay in the backseat, exhausted from crying, from feeling. She closed her eyes when the darkness of the SUV lit up as flames engulfed the barn. She let out a sigh as she felt sleep creep up on her. One chapter in her life finally came to an end, and soon they would have Disturbed out of the picture, and she would be able to close the book of her past.

Notes

Wanted to have this up yesterday, but wasn't able to do any writing Thursday. Just a filler, had to take care of daddy before we got to Disturbed. Didn't go into detail of his torture I wanted to show more of the affect it had on her. Hope I accomplished that, and hope you enjoy :)
The end is coming :( Only a few chapters left....

I would be interested in a rewrite if that’s what you feel like you wanna do. I would read the new version too, even though I don’t find anything wrong with the original.
