Tammy’s POV:
I agreed to a date with Brian which I was currently getting ready for. “Wear the purple one it’s his favorite color.” Jimmy said pulling out the purple dress Brian picked out when we went shopping. It was form fitting, the bottom stopping mid thigh. I’m kind of nervous and really scared. “I don’t know if I can do this Jimmy. I don’t want to get hurt again. I don’t think I could handle it.” I confessed to him. “Relax. He’s never put this much effort into a girl before. Of course he hasn’t had too.” he said with a slight smirk. That didn’t make me feel better. “Not helping Jimmy.” I said flatly. “Look if all he wanted out of you was sex he would have given up by now. I know for a fact. He’s not one to chase when he can just get it from someone else,” he said
“and in case you haven’t noticed he hasn’t brought a single girl home since you got here. He had a genuine interest in you the day he let you call him Brian.” he finished. “What does that have to do with anything?” I asked “Everything! No one but us are allowed to use his real name. Not even our allies, and especially not girls.” he said. I sighed and grabbed the dress Jimmy laid on my bed before heading to the bathroom to shower. “Just give him a chance. I promise you won’t regret it.” he said before leaving the room.
I shut the door to my bathroom. Stripping my clothes I stepped into the shower. I hope Jimmy is right. I would hate to have to strangle the life out of him for lying. Man I’ve been having some violent thoughts lately. I’m just so sick of getting screwed over. I finished my shower, dried and pulled my dress on. I dried my hair curling it slightly, and pinning it up on one side to keep it out of my face. I put on a little eye make-up. I don’t do lipstick I’ll just end up wiping it off within the first five minutes after applying it. Slipping on some purple pumps, I left my room to meet Brian at the door.
I couldn’t stop my heart from racing, or keep my breath from hitching when I saw him. God this man cleans up nicely. His black slacks, blood red dress shirt, a blazer over it unbuttoned, and a fedora with a matching red band around it placed on his head. A wide smile spread across his face when he saw me descend the stairs. “You look amazing.” he said grabbing my hand and kissing my cheek. I blushed a little. “Thank you. You look pretty amazing yourself.” I replied. He smiled wide, and pulled a long velvet box out of his inside pocket. “I got you something.” he said opening the box. A beautiful, gold, oval locket lay inside. Small diamonds bordered it. “Oh wow.” I breathed out as I touched the locket. “Open it.” he said. I pulled it out and opened it. Inside was a picture of my brother on one side, and a picture of my mother on the other. Both pictures were permanently engraved in it. “I don’t know what to say.” I said my voice cracking a bit. He took the locket from my hands, and moved behind me to put it on. It hung just below the necklace Jacoby gave me. “Thank you.” I said touching it slightly. “You’re welcome.” he said with a smile I returned. “Shall we?” he asked holding out his arm. “We shall.” I said hooking my arm with his as we made our way to the door. “Have her home by midnight!” we heard Jimmy yell from behind us. I giggled and shook my head. “Bite me!” Brian yelled back over his shoulder with a chuckle.
He lead me to the SUV, and opened the door for me. I smiled at him as he helped me in. Closing the door after I was seated he ran around the front, and got in the drivers seat. “Where are we going?” I asked as we pulled out of the drive. “A friend of mine owns a fancy Italian restaurant not to far from here.” he explained. “Do I know this friend?” I asked. He smiled “Yea actually it’s Zack’s restaurant,” he said with a smile “we got the best table in the house.” “I didn’t know Zacky had a restaurant.” “Yep. Not all of our money comes from crime.” he said with a slight chuckle.
We pulled into the parking lot, and he helped me out of the vehicle. “I didn’t know you could be such a gentleman.” I said with a slight smirk. “Shhh don’t tell anyone.” he replied with a grin. The place was beautiful. The lighting was dim. A bunch of fake candles mounted to the walls were the main source of light. It had such a romantic atmosphere. Our table was towards the back away from everyone. Two real candles lit in the center, a bottle of chilled wine sitting next to it.
We sat and placed our order. “So what else do you guys do, or are you not allowed to tell me that?” I asked once the waiter left. He chuckled a little. “No its ok,” he started, “lets see, loan sharking, drug, and gun running, we’ve been hired hit-men, Zack does most of our hits he’s the best shot in the house. We do heists, people hire us to serve justice,” he paused. “That reminds me, why did you never contact us?” he asked. I looked at him slightly confused. “What do you mean?” “I sent you a business card after your trial was over. Offered to give you justice. Why didn’t you respond?” “You sent me that?” “Yea. We followed your case. Those assholes deserved to pay for what they did.” he said sternly. “Because I didn’t need to be in your debt. Two wrongs don’t make a right. They’re the ones that have to live with themselves.” I said. I heard him snicker a bit. “What’s so funny?” I asked. “Nothing. Do you really think they feel remorse for it?” he asked. “I don’t know, and honestly I don’t give a shit. Whats done is done, and I can’t change it. All I can do is try and move on.” I said.
Our food arrived, and we made small talk while we ate. I was quite comfortable with him, and I don’t think we had a single moment of awkward silence. “You better leave that waiter a nice tip. We didn’t have to ask for a single thing.” I told Brian once we finished, and got ready to leave. He grinned and threw a 20 on the table before we paid and left. Again like a true gentleman he opened my door and helped me in.
“Where are we going?” I asked when I noticed we weren’t headed back to the house. “What you didn’t think the night was over did you? I have something I want to show you.” he said getting on the highway. We drove for about 45 minutes till he turned down a dirt road and stopping near the edge of a cliff. We got out, and I walked to the edge. “Oh wow you can see the whole city from up here.” I said as I stared out over the city. You could see the ocean in the distance. “I thought you might like it.” Brian said as he laid a blanket over the hood of the SUV, and helped me up. He took off his blazer and climbed up next to me. He laid back resting a hand behind his head, and looked up at the clear night sky. “So why the sudden change?” I asked him laying back as well. The moon was full, and the sky was littered with an endless sea of stars. “I’m sick of being alone.” he said. I know the feeling. “You have the guys at least.” I said. “Yea, but I can’t hold them at night.” he said with a slight grin. “Awe come on I’m sure Jimmy would spoon with you.” I said not being able to keep a strait face. “Oh I know he would, but he would want to be the outside spoon, and that’s just not going to fly with me.” he said propping himself up on his elbow, and facing me a wide smile on his face, and I giggled.
Before I knew what was happening, his lips were on mine. One of his hands rested on my hip as he put everything into the kiss. I reached up and placed a hand on the back of his neck pulling him closer to me. Man he knew just how to take my breath away. Kissing has always turned me on, and I could feel the sensation going strait to my core. Its been so long, and I know I wasn’t ready to completely give into him yet, but I wasn’t going to stop this heart pounding kiss.
He shifted a little, placing one of his legs between mine. I had to stop this before it got to far, but something was stopping me. The familiar emotions that I’ve only felt for one other was currently flowing fiercely through me as our make-out session got more heated. His hand glided up my torso before resting just below my breast. He grazed his thumb over my nipple through the fabric of my dress causing both to harden instantly. He wasn’t even touching skin, and my body was already betraying me to his touch.
Breaking the kiss leaving me breathless, he trailed kisses from the corner of my mouth down my neck. His hand was full on palming my breast through my dress. I griped his hair in my fingers as a small moan escaped me when he found my sweet spot. I felt him smirk against my skin as his hand snaked down from my breast to the hem of my dress. I felt his fingers ghost over my inner thigh sending tingles and heat shooting through me as I broke out in goosebumps. I pushed his hand away “Please slow down.” I told him. He sighed removing his lips from my neck. “I’m sorry.” he whispered resting his forehead on my shoulder. I placed a hand on the back of his head, and stroked his hair a little. “It’s ok. Honestly it was pretty hard to stop you.” I confessed with a slight chuckle. He lifted his head a wide smile painted his face. Resting his hand next to my face, he grazed his thumb across my cheek as he peered into me. His eyes dancing with his emotions, he leaned in placing a soft gentle kiss on my lips.
Pulling away he returned to his back as he pulled me against him. I rested my head on his shoulder with a hand over his racing heart. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders his fingers gliding up and down my shoulder placing his other over mine. We laid there in a comfortable silence for awhile just enjoying each others presence. I can’t ignore the all to familiar feelings I’m feeling with him. The security I feel when his arms are wrapped around me is the same security I felt before. He told me not to wait for him, so why am I? “It’s getting late. We should probably head back.” Brian said pulling me out of my thoughts. “Five more minutes?” I asked softly not wanting the night to end yet. He ran his hand up my arm till it rested with his other on my shoulder. “Five more minutes.” he whispered as his embrace got slightly tighter. I closed my eyes, and let out a content sigh. I’m not going to wait.
The night ended all to quickly for me, and soon we were walking in the door. Our finger laced together as they were the whole ride home. The smiles on our faces getting wider when we seen Jimmy standing in front of us, his arms crossed tapping his foot. “You’re late.” he said pretending to be upset. He had a hard time holding back his smile when he noticed our fingers entwined. “I’m sorry Jimmy,” I said “we had um…” I paused pretending to come up with a lie. “Car troubles.” Brian interjected. “Yea car troubles.” I agreed, not bothering to hold back our smiles. Jimmy cocked a brow “Car troubles hmm?” he asked, his smile playing at his face. We nodded, and failed miserably at putting our smiles away. He narrowed his eyes at us “Don’t let it happen again.” he warned with a smirk pointing his finger at us. We shook our heads. “No sir. Never again.” Brian said as we made our way past him. “It better not!” he yelled up after us as we climbed the stairs.
