After about 15mins of driving they find the hotel the sign a few of the letters were out so it read “Red”. It kind of made her shrug a little, but she put her car in park right beside April’s Jeep Cherokee. Turning off the headlights of her car, she made her way out of the car slowly and painfully seeing that April get out of her vehicle and walks around the front of the Impala “Here Let me help you with that..” she says with a smile jogging over to her and helping her out the car while grabbing one of Emma’s bags, she closes the door and they make their way to the room…
The room was dimly lit from the lamp on the bedside table, there was a small TV on a small table, and a somewhat larger table in the room covered with maps with writing all over them... “Trying to figure out where to go?” Emma asking curiously looking over her shoulder April putting down Emma’s luggage... “Yeah, I need to get away from all of this.. So I’ve got to start somewhere.” She says in a tone.. Emma walks around and sighs wondering how she ended up here.. “Ok let me take a look you...” April says while snapping Emma out of her thoughts… “Uh ok.” Emma says nervously. So She stands up, taking off her jacket slowly and placing on the bed, then her shirt but she has a little trouble so April says “Here let me help.”
Pulling the shirt up over Emma’s head she sees the bruises which now are black and blue.. All April does is gasps in shock all she can say is “ Oh My God, When did this happen & Are You OK?” she says in a concern and kind voice while touching Emma’s shoulder.. “ Um, About 3hrs ago,” she starts to get teary eyed thinking about what happened she letsthe tear fall and inhales slowly “it only really hurt if I move or lift my arms..” April walks to the front of Emma and sees the bruises on her sides… “Well you just have some bruises, luckily no internal bleeding..” she says calmly while Emma loos at her confused.. April looks at her and says “I was a nurse, I just work at the convenient store because my ex works there.” “Oh ok…” Emma grabs a change and goes to the bathroom “I’m going to go shower if you don’t mind.” “Yeah sure it’s fine.” April says turning on the TV.. She turns on the ice cold water, feels like little needles are stabbing her skin but it feel s good on her skin she can relax a little.. The a song pops into her heas and she starts to hum the song..

By the time she’s dong singing the song she steps out of the shower put on her sweatpants and her short sleeved Pantera shirt.. Walking slowly out the bathroom she sees April on the floor watching TV like a small child on Saturday morning cartoons.. “Hey.. I’m done you can shower if you want to..” she says while leaning against the wall.. “Ok, thanks. Nice shirt..” She says with a smile.. “Thanks, basically I have are band tees.. Most of them are from high school so I couldn’t let go of them. You can borrow them if you want..” she says while looking down at the map that lays on the round table.. “Have you figured where you’re gonna go yet?” She asks curiously.. “Nope, I kind of just wanted to keep driving to see where the road may lead me..” Emma lets out a sigh.. “Hey, I have a crazy idea.. And you can say no if you want, but what if you went with me, since we’re in the same boat.. Would you like to come with me?” She says shyly and hoping that she’d say yes.. “UH… HELL TO THE MOTHERFUCKIN YES.. I need to get out of here need to start a new chapter in a new book in my life.” she says excitedly.. The girls start jumping, hugging and giggling like 10 year old girls but they could care less. Emma not even caring that she’s in pain… After 5 minutes of all that excitement they sit down at the table and map out where to go.. They went back and forth for an hour or so and they’ve finally narrowed it down to two destinations..It’s Las Vegas or Huntington Beach..
