Things I Can Change

“It’s either Vegas or Huntington?” Emma says sighing while looking at April… She is looking at the map then suddenly gets up from the small table and walks around the room..“Well Vegas has casinos then it’s the fucking desert, then Huntington Beach well has a beach and all that good shit and I’m kind of tired of living in a fucking desert….” She sighs and she weighs her options.. “So.. Which is it?” Emma asks curiously while raising her left eyebrow…April sighs and looks at Emma “It’s Huntington Beach, Baby..” she says and high fives Emma.. “oh god we have to pack, and find place to stay in the meantime..” Emma says excitedly and a little panicked.. April places both of her hands on Emma’s shoulders and goes “Breathe girl just relax, we will figure all that out later on but for right now we just need to sleep and get going early in the morning ok?” Emma breathes and relaxes “Ok, thanks.. So we leave in the morning?” “Yes, sir we leave at dawn.” She gives Emma a Salute trying to lighten the mood.. She looks at Emma with a concerned look and sits down on the bed next to her placing a hand on her shoulder “What’s wrong, Aren’t you happy that you’re getting out of this hell hole?” Emma exhales and looks at April with tears in her eyes “What if he finds me? What if he tries and do more damage?” she says between breaths.. “ Hey look at me, look at me,” she places her finger under herchin “ He won’t find you, he never will and if he does and I’ll make sure that he won’t lay another hand on you, cause I know we’ve known each other for a few hours but I feel like you’re my sister now,” she says wrapping her arm around her with a small chuckle “Ok, we have each other and I won’t let anything happen to you, OK? I Promise you that..” Emma nods and exhales.. “ok good now can we get some freaking sleep, got a long road trip ahead of us” April says while sitting on the other bed in the room.. “Ok, we leave in the morning..” Emma says while getting under the sheets and her head hitting the pillow… April lets out a yawn like if you were too look you’d start yawing as well “Cool.. Night Emma..” “Night April..”
