Things I Can Change

*3 Hours Later
After driving for a few hours or two but to Emma it seemed like longer…When she realized that she was no longer in Temple anymore she needed to know where she was so she pulled into a gas station parking lot. It was in the middle of nowhere it seemed only just lights from the gas that was lighting the road. So reluctantly she thinks about getting out of her Impala with keys in her hand to use as a weapon if needed, considering what she went through a few hours ago…
“Come on don’t be such a chicken.” She thought to herself she exhaled slowly to calm herself down and due to the pain on her sides as well... Opening the door to her car it squeaked if she moved it cautiously but it was easier for to do that. Putting on her jacket she pulls the collar of it closer to her neck so the wind doesn’t touch her skin.She makes the walk to door to the store which for her it seems likes miles but she endured the pain just put in the back of her mind... Opening the door she hears a binging noise she immediately looks up and sees that the noise is from the motion detector she continues to walk to walk through the store and goes right to the chips and junk food she grabs a few things and walks up to the counter..
“Just these, Miss?” the woman asks with a southern accent while she’s ringing up the items...
“Yes, that’s everything.” She says in a small tone with a smile.. Emma noticing her name tag it says April..
“Ok, that’s $10.50.” She looks at Emma with a concerned look while she puts exact change on the counter...Seeing that she’s in pain she moves her hand closer to Emma’s so she can get the money, she can’t stand seeing her or anyone in pain…
“Is everything oks Hun?” she asks Emma with a concern tone... All Emma can do is shrug and look down at the ground looking at her with her green eyes with some emotion before she could say anything April grabs Emma’s hands and tells her “You’re going to be ok, just keep looking forward and stay positive..” in an encouraging voice and with a polite smile.. For second Emma believes her and maybe she’s right.. “Thanks, but where am I exactly? I kind of just got into my car and just drove…” She says with a small shy laugh rubbing the back of her neck. “Well you’re in Belton Texas. Why don’t you just stay in the hotel for a night it’s only 15 minutes away from here, You can get some rest and I can look at those wounds, and you can get going in the morning?” April says in a kind manner while still holding one of Emma’s hands... While she thinks about the offer April is looking at her hoping that she’ll consider the offer.Emma lets out a small sigh and looks at April with a look of uncertainty and she says “I guess so, not really sure how long I’ve been driving and I’m really exhausted.”
“Ok, well I just need to lock up and we can go ok? When we leave just follow me..” April says while looking at Emma. She’s still a little unsure about all of this, but she is going to take the offer cause she really is tired and she trying to save as much she can..
“You can trust me; I promise believe me I know how you’re feeling if it makes you feel any better I’m in the same boat as you.” April says with a small grin and shrug as she’s locking the door to convenient store.. “So just follow me, and stay close ok?” She says as quietly as she can, even they’re both alone. Emma nods and exhales walking to her car they both start the engines of their cars, and make their way to hotel..

Kinda long.. took me over an hour to write.. Well it looks like Emma has made a friend, who is in the same position as her.. Luckily she can trust her, but will she go with Emma on her journey and where will it lead?? stay around to find out..
