Things I Can Change

After punching Travis I got into my car and in the knick of time one of my fave Disturbed Songs came on and decided to sing it, or in my case scream it..

The song lasted me until I got home... I get there and Travis isn’t here, so I’m guessing he hasn’t made it back yet... So I grab two of my large suitcases and start packing everything that is mine or what’ll fit in them, and I try to hurry cause he was clearly pissed and I really didn’t want to be around him when he’s like that... So as I’m walking down the stairs with my bags I see Travis in the door way, he’s the only thing between me and the front door... He didn’t say anything; I just stood there like a deer in headlights and then out of nowhere he was right in front of me. With something in his eyes I saw the blood from his lip f rom when I punched him earlier.

Now I have this feeling in my gut like I knew I was going to regret it... Suddenly he grabbed me my shoulder and said “I’m going to enjoy this...” with that being said he pushed me back to the wall causing my head to hit a picture frame and the glass break...
“Ow,” this was all that I could say before he punched me in the stomach causing me to fall holding my side in pain... I started to stand up still holding my side from where he punched me, looking him right his eyes and I yelled at him with clenched “ What the FUCK is wrong with you?!?!” Not really caring how pissed off he was going to get.. He exhales slowly looking me right the eyes he says “You made a huge fucking mistake showing up at the bar and ruining my evening, And now well it’s time I got a little payback don’t you think??” the last part of the sentence made my heart stop once again this time with nothing but pure fear for my life.. Now I'm starting to regret it, not punching him or that bitch, but trusting him and believing his lies and wasting almost two years.. He walks towards me breathing heavily, both of his fists clenched placing his right forearm on the throat he adds pressure casing me to gasp for air, then he punches with his left on my side in the same spot as earlier.. "Fuck!" I yell in pain then with his arm still on my throat he knees me on the other side, which causes me to fall on my knees.. I try to crawl away but he grabs by ankle pulling me back towards him then flipping me over, he then kneeling over me he says in a cold tone "You're not getting away from me that easily.." I immediately got the courage to just do what I need to get he hell out of this apartment, this town, and away from him... So he's no standing over me once again with his fists ready to inflict some pain, I move my head and I see my bags and my keys by the door I turn my head back towards him and kick him as hard as I possibly can in the balls he yells in pain and falls to the floor, I get up as fast as I can and run to the front door not even looking back to see the man that I once loved, cared for and gave everything to, laying on the ground in pain I just grab my keys and go wherever the road and my car can take me..
Hopefully this is the last time I ever see him...
