Chapter Nine

"B-Boyfriend?" Matt spluttered, obviously in disbelief.

"What?" I asked, shrugging. "You didn't think you could leave for twenty years and then decide to come back one day and have an easy package."

I walked into the dining room and handed everyone a Toad in a Hole with a plate, then sat down with my own as Matt walked into the room, still looking at me. He looked a little hurt at what I had said to him, but I didn't care too much at the moment. I shot out of my chair a couple seconds before Hazel started crying, and went to her, bringing her into the room to join the rest of us.

"Hazel!" Karla and Alex cooed upon seeing her, making Hazel laugh her cute little belly laugh and flap her wings a little in excitement. She looked at them, confused, when they didn't flap their wings back. I quickly turned Hazel towards me.

"Baby girl, watch, wings out," I stretched my wings out, making her smile and stretch hers as well. "Wings in," I brought my wings back in. Hazel giggled and brought her wings back in as well. We repeated this a couple times, before I brought my wings in one final time and showed her that our game was done, by rolling my shoulders. Hazel seemed satisfied, and turned so she could play on the floor for a little bit. I gladly put her down then continued my breakfast, while watching Avenged's faces, determining how they felt about Hazel.

Zacky turned towards me, after watching Hazel play for a little bit. "How come her wings are different then yours?"

I looked towards Hazel for a little bit, her wings were almost pure white like mine, but hers had small brown speckles on them as well. "I'm not sure," I admitted. "I always thought that maybe she'd molt and her adult feathers would come in, but I don't even know if I did that,"

"So Ann," Karla started, turning the attention away from Hazel to her.

"Yes?" I asked, not sure where she was taking the conversation.

"What bar are you and Travis going to for his birthday?" she grinned at me.

I groaned, and put my head in my hands, "We're not going to a bar."

"Aw come on, man," Alex decided to put her two cents in. "He's turning 21!"

"Yes, I get that," I replied, my head out of my hands, as they slammed down to the table. "But I'm under aged, and can't stay out that late. So, it's just going to be at his house,"

"Who's going to be there?" my mom asked, as she came down the stairs.

"I've already told you." I said, starting to get flustered. "Cheryl, Me, Travis, and Nipple,"

All of the Avenged guys looked at me when I said Nipple, making Alex and Karla giggle.

"It's one of her friends last names," my mom said, coming to my rescue.

"They're last name is Nipple?" Jimmy asked, bewildered.

"Yes his last name is Nipple," I laughed a little. "His first name is Jared, he's pretty funny, maybe you'll meet him sometime."

"Is Travis your boyfriend?" Matt asked, still not sure what he could say around me without getting a smart ass come back.

"Yes," I replied, shoving my mouth full of food. I didn't want to have this conversation right now. I glanced up at the clock. Shit I might be late to work today. "Hazel lets eat, then off to daycare with you."

"Aw," Karla whined.

"Don't you have to work today?" I asked, her as I walked into the kitchen to get Hazels breakfast.

"Possibly," Karla drawled out. I laughed knowing that Karla wanted to watch Hazel.

"Well, if you'd be available more often, and didn't work so much, maybe you could watch her when I work," I said in a sing-song voice, walking back in. I got Hazel into her highchair and then got my self situation on a stool and began to feed her.

Soon there was an awkward silence, which wasn't made any better by Karla staring hungrily at Johnny. "Karla seriously!" I snapped, not looking at her.

"Fine," she crossed her arms and stared at the back of my head. I smirked as I watched Hazel try to look around me to see what was going on. I glanced back at the clock to see I was really going to be running late soon.

"Okay, Hazel time for daycare," I quickly cleaned her up, then got her out of the highchair, changed Hazel and myself into our day clothes, and was about to walk out the door when Matt stopped me.

"Could the guys and I watch her possibly?" I saw the hope in Matts' face, and I honestly didn't mean to squash it, but I was running late and didn't have time to see how she'd react.

"Maybe tomorrow," I said, hurridly. "I'm really running late, and I mean really late."

Matt nodded his head, letting me rush out the door so I could walk Hazel to daycare and then I could walk to work. Today would get better, right?
