Free Falling

Chapter One

I got home to see my sister playing Mario on our Wii. "You beat that game yet?" I asked while walking into the dining room putting my purse and water bottle on the table, then walked back into the living room to see her battling Bowser.

"Just did," she replied, sitting up and looking at me as Bowser flew all over the screen.

"Now I need to get you a new game," I looked at her slightly annoyed. The only reason we got the Wii was because my boyfriend got it for me for Christmas so I could use my workout Wii game, but did I have time to use it? No. So my sister ends up playing it all the time. The main reason I wasn't using the wii as much as I'd like was because our dog took up our entire living room.

I looked towards our dog laying on her bed in the middle of the floor. She is a Blue Heeler mixed with a bit of Red Heeler, the result? A dog that looked like a coyote when running through tall grass. She was an amazing cow dog, and then my family moved into town and our dog's, Spot, health went downhill. She was now our blind, deaf dog with arthritis and now permantly took up residence in our living room.

"What kind of game do you want?" I asked my sister, as the TV turned off, waking the dog up, I'm not sure how it wakes her up but it does...everytime.

My sister shrugged her shoulders, making me roll my eyes. "Do you know anything?" I asked, smirking. "Mom's home," I said, upon hearing the hybrid pull into the driveway.

My sister ran upstairs, to go read a book so she wouldn't have to take the dog out when mom walked in. Sighing, I moved the chair that blocked Spot in the living room, and picked her up to take her outside. It wouldn't be so bad if she could walk down stairs, but because of the arthritis and blindness we didn't trust her to do it on her own.

"Taking the dog out," I said, as I heard the back door open along with the shriek of my little girl, Hazel, making me smile, as I closed the door to the front and walked down the steps to let Spot do her business. I looked up briefly as I saw a bus drive by, not thinking anything of it. Even though we were a fairly small community we still had Grey Hounds driving through every once and a while, so it wasn't that strange. Granted they didn't always use the street I lived on, but it happened since I lived near one of the two highways that went through our town.

After Spot took her good sweet time in finding a spot to pee in, I took her back in the house to see my mom on the floor playing with Hazel. "Hey baby girl," I said, happily, as I sat the dog on the floor while hearing her shriek upon seeing me with the dog. "Did Mommy have the doggy?" I asked her, while going to wash my hands.

I came back into the dining room and my mom handed me Hazel who I took and got her supper ready. I have been a mom for almost a year and I have found it absolutly exhilerating along with stressful, I now had much more respect for what my mom had gone through taking care of me and my sister. Soon Hazel was eating up the hot dog I made for her, making a mess along the way.

After supper Hazel, my sister, and myself went for our daily walk, which took us all the way to a park that everyone called Cheese Park, because all of the towers had "cheese" roofs. As we walked around the park I saw roughly seven guys under the shelter laughing and drinking beer. I shivered a little as one of them got up and started walking towards us. "Beeilen Sie sich, kleines Mädchen," (Hurry up, little girl) I whispered towards my sister, making her speed up slightly. We rounded the baseball diamond that was near the park and headed back home.

Glancing behind us, I noticed the guy had stopped following us a little while back. I kept getting weird feelings all the way home. "Quit ruffling your wings, it's annoying," my sister hissed at me as we passed a couple of people walking towards the park and the pool.

"Sorry," I sighed, attempting to relax. I let my wings lie down on my back making sure that they were still covered by my shirt. I had gotten them almost 10 years ago, when I had gotten kidnapped and taken to a testing facility. They had injected me with bird DNA and voila! Wings. Only my family knew about them, well them and my ex, it's just really hard to hide them during sex.

We got home almost too soon for me, I wanted to keep walking around, because it was nice out, but maybe I could just go to the farm later and stretch. I heard Hazel shriek in joy when she saw my dad sitting on the porch reading one of his Men's Health magazines. "Anything intersting?" I asked, picking Hazel out of the stroller, letting my sister carry it onto the porch.

Dad showed me the front cover to see Taylor Lautner (sp?) on the front, "Think I'll ever look like him?" my dad joked as he patted his beer belly.

"Well, you never know," I laughed, walking into the house.

The rest of the night was pretty close to uneventful, I was able to put Hazel down without much of a fuss for once which was slightly unusual but I wasn't complaining. I finally had a chance to sit down when the doorbell went off. I cursed under my breath as I went to get the door, hoping the sound hadn't woken Hazel up. "Yes?" I asked, opening the door. I stopped what I was doing as I saw one of the guys who was at the park from earlier.

Upon closer inspection the guy looked slighlty familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on why he looked so familiar. He had full sleeve tattoos and muscles to go with it. He also had short brown hair. Finally it clicked. "You're from Avenged Sevenfold," I stated stupidly.

"Ann, who is it?" my mom called from inside the house.

I began panicing, Avenged Sevenfold was a band my mom would never let me listen to and now they were standing on our porch. "Uhhhh, Jehovas, mom." I called back, my throat slightly dry, as M. Shadows looked at me with a confused expresion which made me laugh slightly.

Apparently my mom didn't believe me and came to see for herself. When she saw M. Shadows my mom gasped. "Matt?"

This made me look at her, completely confused. A non-christian rock band that my mom knows the name of the lead singer? What's going on? My mind whirled with so many questions, I moved out of the doorway and flipped myself over the back of the couch so I could sit down.

"Did you want to come in?" my mom asked him, while moving away from the door. I glanced over to my dad who was "watching" tv while sitting on the loveseat, really his watching tv consists of him sitting on the couch or loveseat with his eyes closed so none of us really believed he was watching tv, but he'd get mad when you turned the tv off on him. It seemed that he knew who he was and wasn't going to be bothered with it, it's either that or he was fake sleeping to see what would happen.

"Thank you," I heard Matt say as he walked in. He stood there awkwardly for a couple minutes before asking if the rest of the band could come in. My mom complied and soon I heard the rest of the gang come in.

I subtly slipped my phone out and texted my best friend, Karla.

You're never gonna guess who's here

I waited a couple more minutes before sending another text to her.

It's johnny fucking christ!!!! XD

This time I got a response from her.

What do you mean jonny christ is at your house????

My mom cleared her throat making me look at her and put my phone down. "Who are you texting?" my mom asked in her no-nonsense tone.

"Karla," I replied, pulling up the text I had just received from her.

My mom read it, then glared at me, "And how do you know who that is?"

I shrugged, "Karla has a huge crush on him,"

Matt looked from my mom to me in absolute confusion. I nodded towards Matt while looking at my mom, "Mind explaining?"

My mom opened and closed her mouth a couple times before finally saying something that I wasn't expecting at all. "He's your father,"

Notes

I needed a break from cleaning.  So now that that's done with I shall return to my cleaning.  Hope everyone enjoys this chapter and I should hopefully get another chapter up this next week? Maybe tomorrow depends on how bored I am and how well I'm writing the chapter I'm working on.
