Chapter Two

I looked at my mom in utter confusion. "I'm sorry I think I heard you wrong. My father is over there," I stated, pointing over at the love seat that had my dad sitting on it.

"No, Ann...this is your real father. I had you before I met Kurt," my mom explained getting down to eye level with me.

I sat there contemplating, putting two and two together. It meant I was a "bastard" child, which also meant my parents hadn't been married for twenty-five years because I was only just turning twenty. Well, this explains the no dad signature on my birth certificate I thought, slightly amused. "So...if all of this is true," I started out slowly. "That would mean, you and 'dad' haven't been married for twenty-five years,"

Mom nodded as I began putting the pieces together.

I sat there for a couple more seconds before standing up and yelling at her. "Hypocrite!" I then ran up the stairs to go to the balcony.

"Ann! Wait!" my mom called after me, reaching the bottom of the stairs as I opened the door to the balcony. "Where are you going?" She pleaded with me.

I could see the hurt in her eyes but I still needed to vent and think things out for a little bit. I saw Matt start walking towards my mom as I made my way outside. "To the farm," I called over my shoulder.

"Ann! No, stay here," my mom tried to reason with me while running up the stairs, trying to stop me.

I jumped onto the balcony railing and then fell towards the ground once my mom made it to the door, making her scream bloody murder. No matter how many times she saw me do this it still gave her a heart attack. I let my wings catch the wind and pulled myself up into the night sky, angling my wings so I would change direction, and go towards the farm that we had left a few years ago.

***Matts POV***

I heard Ann's mom, Lorie, scream after she had reached the doorway to what I assumed to be a balcony. I ran to her to see what the matter was. As soon as I reached the doorway, I looked around to see Ann, but she was nowhere in sight. I instantly went on high alert, Where could she have gone? I looked over the balcony railing, but didn't see anything that looked like a splattered Ann. Looking over to my right I saw Lorie sitting in one of the chairs they had on the balcony, her hand covering her mouth, with tears in her eyes. I sat in the one next to her, and brought one of her hands into mine.

"Where's Ann?" I asked, quietly, hoping not to startle her or bring anymore tears on.

Lorie shook her head, staying quiet for a few seconds. "She went to the farm," she finally said. I had barely caught the words she had spoken, because she had said them so quietly.

"But how?" I asked, not fully understanding what had just happened. "She came up here, and then you screamed, and, and she's not here," I finally said. "It's not like she can fly,"

Lorie started crying harder at this, I looked at her startled not sure what it was exactly that I had said that had upset her. "What time is it?" Lorie finally asked, looking towards me with a tear stained face that made my heart contract and my throat tighten.

I looked at my watch and lit up the digital display. "Ten to eleven," I replied, not sure why that had anything to do with Ann's disappearance.

Lorie nodded her head. "If she's not back by midnight we're going to go look for her,"

I nodded my head, still confused out of my mind.

"We should go back downstairs."

"Okay," I replied, and helped her out of her chair, to go back downstairs with the guys.

***Ann's POV***

I flew around the "woods", which simply consisted of a small strand of trees that had a couple paths through it, at the farm for a couple minutes attempting to clear my head. Finally I had had enough and flew over to a dying tree about one hundred yards away from the small woods. I leaned my head back against the trunk contemplating everything, closing my eyes for a bit.Why would mom lie to me? I thought she valued being a Christian, so why keep this a secret for so long?

I opened my eyes to see a figure up in the sky flying towards me. Using my raptor vision I "zoomed" in to see what the heck was flying out this late at night. After focusing my vision I wished I had just let my curiosity be. "Fucking Erasers," I muttered, standing up as five more figures joined the first one. They started circling the tree I was in, making me nervous as they got lower and lower.

I reached for my phone and pushed speed dial three, calling my dads cell phone. They landed as soon as my mom picked up the phone. Glancing at the leader I noticed it was Ari, one of the scientists' brats. "Ari!" I exclaimed in surprise.

Ari gave me an evil toothy grin, "Surprised to see me?"

"What did they do to you?" I gasped, upon seeing his seven year old frame stretched into an adult body, he was a normal human being the last time I had seen him.

"They made me better," Ari replied, flexing his muscles, and changing into his eraser shape slightly. I shuddered as I saw the wolf part begin to emerge. All Erasers were part human and part wolf, and it was just weird and sickening to watch them change.

"What do you want?" I asked, attempting to keep my voice even.

"You're daughter," Ari grinned, taking a step towards me, making me shrink up against the tree trunk glancing around for a means of escape.

"She's not here," I whispered, knowing his modified hearing would be able to hear me just fine.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you correctly," Ari mocked, holding a hand to his now dog ear.

"You can't have her!" I yelled and jumped into the air, rushing towards them. Ari let out a small surprised yelp, when I came at him. He wasn't expecting such a fast retaliation. The rest of the Erasers morphed then started grabbing for me.

Ari jumped into the air and grabbed my leg pulling me down, and put me into a strangle hold. He reached into my pant pocket and took my phone out, all while keeping my struggling body at a distance that wouldn't harm him. "Ari, let me go!" I shouted, struggling against his grip. He only laughed then crushed my phone, letting me go so I ran into the five other Erasers. I attempted to fight them off as best as I could, but I ended up blacking out before I could get away.

***Matt's POV***

As we all sat in the living room contemplating our actions, I heard a phone go off in the kitchen area, making Lorie and Kurt jump. Lorie rushed into the kitchen and opened a drawer pulling a silver cell phone out. She answered it, her voice wavering slightly.

I watched as she walked back into the living room, listening intently to what was being said on the phone, her eyes searching the room worridly. "Ann? Ann?" Lorie screamed into the phone a few seconds later, before dropping the phone and going for her coat.

"What's the matter?" I asked, standing up, ready to help her.

"I need to get Ann," Lorie said, rushing out the door. I looked around helplessly, not sure what to do.

"Stay here," Kurt said, standing up. "I'm going to need help,"

I watched Kurt go into the kitchen, only for him to come back with guns and knives. "What's going on?" I asked, my heart in my throat, completely scared. I could see the guys were too.

"We'll be able to explain better later," Kurt said, handing me a hand gun. "Right now, we need to watch the front window for explosions. I turned towards the front window, not sure what was going to happen, but I was going to find out much sooner then I wanted to.

Notes

A new chapter with some more action...well the beginning of action.  I changed this one a little from what is on Mibba, it's more of the wording then any plot twists.  Hope everyone enjoyed.
