“We had so much fun together!” Leana protested. We were at the recording studio with my brother and his friends, my brother buying everything she was saying. Jimmy was smiling brightly looking over to me and I smiled back him, feeling his soft lips on mine. Last night was the best night of my life and he was apart of it and it just made my heart melt thinking about what happened.
“Yeah the funniest part was the Farris wheel!” She exclaimed squealing and hugging me tight, “Don’t worry Johnny boy, I sat in the middle of them,” She chuckled. I saw my brother smile with satisfaction but it made me sad that I was lying to my brother. Then again I was happy that my big brother was happy, he was happy that I wasn’t dating Jimmy that we weren’t kissing, oh I can’t wait till he finds out.
“Alright let’s get to practicing,” Johnny said clasping his hands together. They went and did their magic while me and Leana sat on the couch laughing and having fun together. Jimmy was finished with his drumming and came and sat down beside me pulling me into a big hug. I nuzzled into his chest and just smiled at him.
“Thank you for everything Jimmy,” I smiled at him. He smiled back down at me and kissed the top of my head.
“Your most welcome baby girl,” He whispered, “May I take you out again? Tonight?” He asked me. I pulled away and looked up to him, pondering the question. Should I go out with him? I wanted to, if it was anything like last night, that’s what I wanted to do most was just to be with Jimmy. So, without thinking about it much longer, I agreed to go on the date with him again.
“James!” Johnny called out, “Get your butt over here,” He said. Jimmy rolled his eyes and hugged me again before getting up and going over to his friend who smacked him on the back of his head which was a funny site since Johnny had to get on his tippy toes.
“You and Jimmy sitting in a tree,” I looked over to Leana who was making kissing noises and puckering her lips. My eyes grew wide and I playfully shoved her.
“Shut up!” I laughed. She shook her head.
“If you like him just go for it hun,” She said with a shrug, “I would,” I sighed, looking down to my knees. It wasn’t that easy. Of course I would date Jimmy in a heart beat but there was that question of me getting hurt. I didn’t want to get hurt again, including by him. Zacky was nice and all but then he used me really bad and now, it made it kind of hard to trust any of the guys, besides my brother of course.
“I know Leana but-”
“He’s not like Zacky, so just drop it ok? I mean, the past is the past, leave it there,” She told me, she was right. The past was the past and people should just drop it. My brother didn’t have a right to block me from Jimmy, if I wanted to date him then I should. I shouldn’t let the past block me from this.
“Thanks Leana,” I smiled at her and hugged her tight, looking past her to Jimmy who winked at me making me burry my face in my best friends neck, giggling like a small girl having her first crush.

Jimmy came over to my house at around five, us eating dinner with my parents. My brother was home with his wife, me trying to just forget about my brother right now. We had another fight before we left out of the recording studio which broke my heart. How can my brother do this to me? Why is he always doing something like this to me? Was he just going to shove Jimmy away from me? I sighed, this was all to overwhelming to me and I was getting sick and tired of it.
“Mr. Seward,” Jimmy said, wiping his mouth with the napkin before straightening up, “I was wondering if I could take your daughter out on a date,” He said nicely to my father who looked at him, pondering the question.
“Why do you want to date my daughter?” He asked him. Jimmy smiled at him and looked over to me and grabbed my hand making me blush.
“I want to date her because she is the most beautiful girl that I have met, she is my best friend and her smile warms my heart. She is the most precious thing in my life and I would put her first before anything, even with my music,” He said, looking at me the whole time he said it making my heart race. His blue eyes were sparkling, just showing me that he cared a lot about me.
My mother awed at us causing me to blush and Jimmy just smiled, his thumb lightly rubbing my hand, my father looked at us and nodded.
“James,” He said standing. Jimmy looked at my father, standing and dropping my hand and shook my fathers, “You may date my daughter. Your hurt her, I see that you will never see her again.” He said sternly. Jimmy nodded, seeing this body language that I wasn’t sure what it was but he was dead on serious. He wasn’t the funny Jimmy, this Jimmy was more of an adult then a child.
“I swear on my life I will protect her,” He said.
Needless to say, after that dinner, Jimmy and I left for the movies by ourselves having the time of our life. He was a total gentleman to me, holding the door open, buying me popcorn and a drink and whatever else I wanted. We talked endlessly about music and about futures and of course we just plan and out goofy to one another.
“I had fun today,” Jimmy smiled at me. We were holding hands as he drove me home.
“I did too Jimmy,” He smiled at me and turned on the blinker to the right, which wasn’t towards my house. Part of me wanted to panic but then again, I didn’t want to panic. I needed to trust Jimmy one way or another. But the thoughts of getting raped again was making me panic. My heart was beating a million miles an hour, I was already starting to cry and hyperventilate.
“Calm down baby, it’s alright,” Jimmy said gently. He came to the end of the road and squeezed my hand pulling me to him were I broke down onto his chest. I was so scared, seeing Zacky doing those things to me made me tremble in fear.
“It’s alright, your safe Deanna,” Jimmy whispered to me. I nodded and tried to stop shaking and to stop crying, but having him holding me and telling me that everything was going to be alright helped me a lot.
“Come here,” He whispered, “I wanna show you something,” He whispered. I nodded, pulling away and wiping away my tears with the back of my hand and fallowed Jimmy through the woods coming out to a clearing of a small pond with lilly pads and a few ducks in it. We came and sat down on a log, Jimmy holding me close to me.
“I won’t ever do what Zacky did baby, that….just it’s so wrong and I wished I was there for you. Johnny wishes it, we all do baby girl,” He told me. I nodded, just trying to calm down and relax and enjoy this moment with Jimmy.
“Hey Deanna?” He asked, his head resting on mine that was on his shoulder.
“Yes Jimmy?” I asked looking up to him. He smiled to me, cupping my cheek.
“The reason why I asked you out here was … well…” He swallowed, “Will you be my girlfriend?” He asked me. He looked so nervous but he looked so cute doing so. I smiled and kissed him lovingly.
“I would love to,”
