I went home after dinner with my brother and his family, because for one, if I did go out on a date with Jimmy, my parents wouldn’t mind. And for another, that meant I didn’t have to sneak out and cause even more trouble with my brother. I loved him dearly but I needed this break and I was finally going to be able to do something that I wanted to do and not my brother.
“Love you sis,” My brother said after pulling into our parents drive way.
“Love you too Johnny,” I whispered and came out of the door still upset about him and what happened in his house. Dinner was quiet, like really quiet. Leana didn’t like me being there, I could sense it. Dannie and Johnny were trying to make people laugh, as well as Brian but it just didn’t work out.
I walked inside my home, seeing mom and dad sitting on the couch watching a movie and they saw me coming inside and they paused the movie.
“Hey baby girl, how’d it go?” My dad asked me. I came into the living room and sat on the coffee table in front of them.
“Got in a fight with Johnny,” I said sadly. My mom came and grabbed my hands asking me what happened so I did. My dad sighed and sat up along with my mom.
“I can see what your brother is trying to do honey but…then again you have a point too. We just want you safe,” My father told me gently. I nodded, looking down to my feet.
“I really want to go on this date with Jimmy though,” I said lightly. Which was very much true, I wanted to be with Jimmy really bad and I have been for a long time. Besides, it was just a date. It wasn’t like marriage or anything. We were just probably go and terrorize people and die laughing on the beach or go to an arcade or something.
“Alright, you can,” My father said, “Only if one of the guys go with you,” He pointed out before I could say anything. This wasn’t fair! I am freaking eighteen years old, why couldn’t I just go out with a guy?! Just because I had one bad night doesn’t mean it was going to happen again.
I stood, taking my hands from my mothers grip and went upstairs to my room and slammed it shut, screaming and cussing and throwing things around in my bedroom.
“This is freaking stupid!” I yelled. Just because Zacky had to be an idiot, steal my things and to rape me doesn’t mean that they were all like this! I hated him for what he’s done and I was never going to be with him ever again! I hate him and I hate everyone for having me stay away from boys.
All my brother did my whole life was keep me away from his friends, he trusted Zacky and he stilled didn’t trust him. Zacky never looked at me, Johnny threatened to quit the band and to cut the brother hood with them but, they begged and pleaded and now, Zacky can’t set foot near me or anything. Only on occasions. Like my birthday but that was because there was so many people there.
I sighed, this was a mess and this was ridicules. I sighed and just crawled into my bed and decided to catch some sleep but of course that didn’t happen because when my head hit the pillow, Jimmy texted me.
Jimmy: You ready beautiful?
Me: No, tired, tomorrow
I was being abrupt but I could careless right now.
Jimmy: Why not? *frowns*
Me: I have had to many fights and we have to bring someone tomorrow…I blame Zacky.
Jimmy: What did he do to you!?
Me: Nothing Jimmy, just…good night ok?
I sighed and turned my phone off and put it on my nightstand and made myself fall asleep. This was a nightmare waiting to happen.

The next morning I woke up with a sweet text from Jimmy which made me smile. He was a really good friend and I loved being around him and now that he kissed me on my birthday and that he wanted to go out on that date with me, he was even more sweet. I was actually excited about today, kind of. Other then the part that Johnny was going to mock me for saying he was right and I was wrong or something and having to take one of the guys with me but still, I was going to be with Jimmy.
I got up and slipped on my comfortable clothes and went downstairs to grab a bite to eat and called Brian to see if he could go out on the date with Jimmy and I. He was busy, Zacky was totally out of the question, Johnny was out too since there wouldn’t even be a date cuss he’d be watching me like a hawk, Matt was busy too since he was being with his girl today, which I could totally understand it being their anniversary and all and there was just one person left that I could think of.
My friend Leana.
She was the only one of the girls that didn’t have a boyfriend and was friends with Jimmy and I. Which I thought was kind of sad but I wouldn’t judge her. She was the best friend that I could have right now and I thought it would be fun for all of us to go out together.
“Hey Leana!” I exclaimed.
“Hey Dee! What’s up?” She asked. I took a bite of my cereal and swallowed, “Wondering if you wanna go with me and Jimmy on a date?” I asked making her laugh.
“Why do I have to go with you on a date?”
“Because what happened with Zacky,” I said point blank. She agreed to come with Jimmy and I and she hung up and I was happy, kind of. I called Jimmy and told him that Leana had to come with us and he was ok with that.
I just hope everything was going to turn out good.
Jimmy came and picked me up at around noon when I just got off the phone with my brother. He asked me to be safe and all of that which made me want to go and ring his neck. He was acting like our dad which I didn’t want from my brother. Yes I loved that he cared about me but this was ridicules.
“How are you doing beautiful?” He asked coming and kissing the top of my hand. I smiled at him.
“I am doing great, just happy I can be with you,” I said gently. He smiled at me again and he held my hand all the way to Leana‘s home. He beeped the horn and she came outside with her long curly hair bouncing behind her and her jacket nearly coming off of her making me chuckle. She came into the back seat and combed her hair from her face.
“Sorry, I was running from my sister,” She chuckled. Jimmy and I laughed and we drove off to the carnival. Leana got out of the car as soon as we parked and wined at me and him before running off into the crowds.
“There’s a reason why she’s my friend,” I chuckled. Jimmy laughed.
“Well, at least we can actually have alone time with one another,” He said softly. I smiled and we came out of the car and paid for our tickets, Jimmy putting his arm around my waist as we walked onto the pier looking at all the rides that were there and the small stands.
“Where do we start first beautiful?” Jimmy asked me. I blushed a little when he called me beautiful and squeezed his hand.
“How about…hmm…” I looked around seeing so many games and activities, I didn’t know where to start. So, I started with some cotton candy, stuffing Jimmy’s face and running around with him to all the really cool rides. I had a lot of fun with him, being open and free and us laughing like it was only us two. He told me how beautiful I was, kissed my cheek and helped me into the rides. The last ride that we went on was the Ferris wheel.
“You first my lady,” Jimmy said offering me to go first. I chuckled and kissed his cheek as I came on. He came in beside me and the guy shut the door and we waited for the others and before we know it, we were on the top over looking everyone. I saw so many lights, so many people, the sun and how it reflected on the waters.
“It’s beautiful up here,” I whispered looking around. I felt Jimmy slip his hand into mine and him lightly turning my chin to him and I saw this bright smile on his face, this twinkle in his eye.
“Not as beautiful as you Deanna,” He smiled to me and came and was going to kiss me until the ride jerked to a start, having him miss and kiss the air. I blushed and looked away, him swearing under his breath making me chuckle. He held onto my hand tightly as the ride came to a stop.
“I had a lot of fun today,” I smiled at Jimmy. He came and kissed my temple.
“It’s not done yet baby,” He said causing my heart to flip. We stopped in front of this one game stand and he paid the girl the amount of tickets and he stood there and grabbed the small ball that he was to throw at the bottles and knock them over. He got into the pitching position and wiggled his butt making me laugh and he threw it, causing two of the bottles to knock down.
“Hey babe,” He said and turned to me. He walked over to me and before I knew it, he kissed me lightly, “For good luck,” He winked and went back over and threw it, causing all of the bottles to be knocked down.
“Come pick a prize!” The woman happily announced. I was turned away from everything, looking out for the crowds for Leana since we were going to be leaving soon and I saw her with someone who looked familiar but I didn’t get to see him until I felt something fuzzy on my neck. I squeaked and turned around and saw Jimmy holding this adorable baby stuffed duck in his hands and I gasped.
“Jimmy!” I squealed and held him tight. Ducky’s were my favorite animals and it was nice for him to notice something like this.
“Only for you baby,” He smiled at me and took my hand and we walked back to Jimmy’s car and eventually found Leana on the way.
“You two behaved?” She asked us. I laughed.
“Very much so Leana,” I said and we got in and Jimmy drove us home. We said good-bye to Leana who put in a good word for us to my nosey brother and Jimmy drove me home and walked me up to the door.
“I had an amazing time with you Deanna,” He smiled at me. I smiled back at him, holding the ducky close.
“Thank you, and thank you for the ducky, I love him,” I giggled and he cupped my cheek and kissed me on the lips causing fireworks to explode through my body. Then again, my body also felt like it was my melting, my heart hammering and racing in my chest. I never had a kiss that felt like this.
He pulled away and smiled at me, “Good night my sweet Deanna,” he whispered and left me standing there with a goofy smile on my face holding onto my ducky so happy that I went on this date with him.
