Katie’s P.O.V.
My and my best friend were going to go out to the beach tonight since Johnny’s Bar was out of the question. Yes she met the ‘love of her life’ there but that was also the place where I got used and now I am pregnant with his kid. I had been thinking about it over and over again and realized that on that day, I was used.
It made total sense! He asked if I wanted more to drink when I was already tipsy enough, then he had brought me to dance. I could see the lust filled eyes of his but then again, when I looked deeper inside of him, I saw that there was something else. Granted I didn’t know what it was but him using me wasn’t clicking with me. I wanted to blame him on something, for using me since it wasn’t rape. But the more I thought about telling him that, the more it drifted from my head.
“You alright?” Ruby asked me. I looked over to my best friend and shrugged. I was happy that we were celebrating and all but there was something up and I just had this feeling that we weren’t going to be alone. I asked her about it and she would laugh it off and not even tell me.
“Find I guess,” I sighed and looked out the window. She had pulled into the parking lot of the beach and checked her phone and had a small smile on her face. I knew that it was Jimmy but she never replied. She just came out of the car and told me to come on. I rolled my eyes and got out of the car and grabbed my bag from the back and walked with my beaming friend who looked like she couldn’t keep her pants on long enough.
“Hurry up!” She exclaimed.
“I’ll give you hurry up,” I muttered under my breath. We came down to a surrounding of a small camp fire seeing five people surrounding it. My stomach twisted into knots and my heart stopped. One stood and looked right at me and I lost my breath.
“Hey Katie,” He said gently with this sorrow smile on his lips. I looked over to my friend and saw her hugging Jimmy tightly and he kissed the top of her head and the other guys stood and went to Ruby while I started to back away.
I wanted nothing to do with this jerk! He was the one that used me, right? I wrapped my arms around my self and took a step back.
“Katie I-” Before Brian could say anything else, I turned and I ran off hearing Ruby call behind me. I ignored her and came up to her car and found that the doors were locked. I would of loved to just sit in the car and ignore everyone completely but no, she locked the doors. I groaned and wrapped my jacket closer around myself and started to walk home. No one was coming after me, which I have to add was the first. It was just me and the setting sun behind me as I walked down the street. I was here thinking a lot through. I was going to start work tomorrow which I was really excited for then again, I was nervous but who wouldn’t be so nervous? I kept thinking about Brian though and I kind of felt bad for leaving him. In my head though, I kept telling myself that he didn’t need my respect because he had used me.
I sighed and walked further home seeing that it was going dark. Ruby’s home was ever further away then it seemed and I was actually getting scared. The night was coming, I looked up to the sky and saw that there was grey skies rolling in.
I had only about a mile or so to go before I had reached Ruby’s home and luckily I had a house key with me. I was getting scared but I made my self not to call her for a ride. She was with someone special and I didn’t want to ruin it for her.
“Hey there girl,” I heard someone say behind me. They sounded big, their low voice calling after me. I felt my heartbeat quicken and I began to walk faster. I heard them calling me, whistling. I fished for my phone in my pocket but it was taken from me when I was slammed into a light pole. Of course there was no one in sight which was making me even more scared. The man looked at me, lust filling his crazy eyes as he cocked a smile at me. His hands were strong against my arms as he pinned me against the pole. I was nearly screaming, I wasn’t sure why I wasn’t crying. I needed to cry because if I didn’t, it could end very bad for me.
Their lips started to kiss me, but I let out of horrifying scream, trying to kick but I couldn’t, the man had his full weight onto me. The man smacked me across the cheek and told me to shut up, me feeling the knife on my stomach. I started to hyperventilate, my body going into shock. I can’t die! All I could do was think about my baby.
“Help me!” I screamed again but the man put knife to my stomach even closer and I could feel it poking my skin.
“Hey!” I heard someone shout. For once, I actually thought that it was Brian, my heart was hammering in my chest just hoping to see him coming out of the darkness to come and save me from these men. But when he came to the light, I didn’t recognize who it was, “Get the h*ell away from her,” The guy growled.
I looked to my savior, his short hair gelled back with his short beard growing. His brown eyes piercing the other man while his hands were in fists. He was very big, in a muscular way. He came to the man who had let go of my bruised arms and looked at them man with a snicker.
“Says who?” He laughed, “You and pipsqueak?” He chuckled. The tall muscular guy came over to the man and slammed his fist into the side of the mans face, the shorter guy coming over to me and grabbed my gently.
“Come on,” He said. His hair coming down to his shoulders, his blue eyes looking helpful to me, “It’s alright, your safe,” He told me reassuringly. I grabbed his hand and we walked away leaving the other man behind. I went to look back, seeing a back turned to me and the guy squeezed my hand.
“Don’t look,” He said gently. I heard cried in the night the longer we walked away and finally, I sat down on the sidewalk to get a breather.
“Who are you,” I whispered looking at the kid beside me. He stood and outstretched his hand.
“Names Rikki,” He said with a gentle smile. I shook his hand and he told me that my savior, his brother’s name was Ryan and that we would gladly take me home. I nodded and Ryan came over to us and gave me a reassuring smile.
“He won’t be bothering you again,” He told me. I felt a little weird with him saying them words. I actually started to think that he killed him but I was safe and I knew that Brian wouldn’t be talking to me anytime soon.
Brian’s P.O.V.
Ruby and Jimmy were together on a log watching the fire, talking softly to one another and smiled at them. I was happy that my best friend was happy like this but then I looked around and saw the other guys cracking jokes with one another and I frowned. Their girls ended showing up and I screwed my date on the first few hours I had met her. Not only did I feel terrible but I felt alone.
Something changed when Ruby excused her self and went and answered her phone. Matt shoving Jimmy who was looking down to the flames with a bright smile on his face and we heard Ruby screech. Immediately, Jimmy got to his feet and went to his girl and she told him something and suddenly left and he came after her.
I fallowed, along with the others wondering what had happened.
“What happened!” I called after Ruby. Jimmy was climbing in the font seat and called out,
“Katie’s in the hospital, she went into shock,” He came inside and Ruby sped off while I came to my car and fallowed them, hoping, praying that Katie was going to be alright.
