“What do you mean?” I argued.
“Leave it alone.” He groaned.
“Why can’t you ever just answer me? I just wanted to know. Jeez…”
“Because if you need to know something, I’ll let you know.”
This is fucking ridiculous.
“Fine, whatever.” I hissed.
I started for the door and I heard heavy footsteps behind me and a strong hand wrap around my arm.
“No, you’re not leaving.” Brian growled, lowly.
“YES, I am.”
“Stop acting like a spoiled brat and sit your ass down.”
The guys stood where they were and watched us.
“Then tell me what you guys are talking about.”
“You’re not going to like it.”
“What is it?”
“You’re not going to like it.” He repeated.
“I don’t care. I’m leaving!” I yelled.
He let my arm go and a quickly swung open the big heavy door.
Headlights were making their way up the long drive way.
“Get in here!” Brian hissed, grabbing me almost picking me up off my feet and slamming the door behind me.
“What’s going on? Who is that?”
“Just go upstairs to my room and stay there until I tell you to come out.”
“But..”
“GO!” He shrieked.
I didn’t argue with him anymore and ran up to his room, locking the door behind me. I sat down on the bed wondering what the hell was going on. I had no idea but I was going to find out one way or another.
I sat there with my ear to the door trying to hear the murmuring downstairs more clearly. I couldn’t hear anything clearly. I knew Brian would probably be mad me but I really didn’t care at the moment. I slowly opened the door and checked to see if the hallway was clear before tip toeing down the hallway stopping at the top of the stairs.
“You understand that I need your services and rather quickly.” I heard a man’s voice say.
“Yes, but I’m sure you could find someone else.” Brian replied.
“No, I need you do it.”
“Why us?”
“Because I’d like to work with you. I think we could make good business partners. You think it over and I’ll be back by…who’s upstairs?”
Shit.
“No one.” Brian said plainly.
“Don’t take me as a fool Brian. I can smell her. Show yourself!” He demanded.
I took a deep breath and slowly walked down the stairs.
“Ah, Cat. I’ve missed you my dear.” The man grinned, evilly.
I stopped dead in my tracks. This couldn’t be real.
It was my grandfather.
