Rescuing Someone In Need
I decided to just let Felicity sleep through the night for once and I think I dozed off for only an hour before I jolted upright and looked around where I sat before heading downstairs and checking around the perimeter of our home but there was anything there. We haven’t seen a Stray in over 2 months but I still wasn’t going to let my guard down for a minute. The last time I did, we were just about killed. I sighed lowly in relief and went back into the living room and sat down in a rocking chair beside a window continuing to look out over the front of the house. I had set up motion detectors 100 yards around the house and rigged them to tell me if they were animal or the dead but it maybe went off once and it was a Stray but it was destroyed in a matter of seconds by my weapon.
I looked out over the horizon as the sun started coming up so I got up from my seat and grabbed the CB and taking it back over to the rocking chair and turning it on. I changed it from channel to channel hoping today I would get someone.
“If there is anyone out there that needs help please respond…We are the Guardians and we can help you. If you don’t have a means of transportation we will come and get you. If you can drive please respond for the directions.” I said looking over the land.
“Hello? Is there someone there?”
“Yes there is! Do you need assistance?”
“I can’t believe I’m hearing another person’s voice right now.”
“Over-whelming?” I asked smiling at the woman’s voice.
“Very…You said that you can help right?”
“Yes Ma’am. Do you have any way of getting here?” I asked sitting up better.
“No we don’t. My daughter and I just escaped a Pack and we need someone to come and get us.”
“We’ll come. Where are you?” I asked grabbing the pad of paper and pen from the window.
“We’re in a town called Memphis. The Pack is still coming this way but they’re like 7 hours behind us.”
“We’ll be there in 2 hours. What building are you near?” I asked writing down what she told.
“We’re at Graceland. Do you know where that is?”
“Yes I do. Here’s what I need you to do. Gather up anything you have with you that you and your daughter want to bring with you. If you have any food, water, or weapons make sure you bring those along with you. Lock all the doors and windows if you haven’t already and don’t make any sounds. Keep yourselves hidden as good as you can. When I honk 3 times, I’ll be at the front door of the house.” I said instructing.
“We’ve locked every window and door in this place when we first got here and we’ll be ready by the time you get here and please hurry.”
“We’re on our way.” I said smiling and getting up from my seat.
“Thank you.”
I turned off the radio and went over to Felicity shaking her lightly. Her eyes opened up and I smiled.
“You need to get up and get some weapons and ammo.” I said grabbing some pistols and placing them into a holster along with putting some bullets into my pockets.
“Are we about to be attacked?”
“No there’s a woman with her daughter in Memphis that needs us and we’re going to them. Meet me in the garage with everything we need.” I said and she nodded getting to her feet and rushing out of the room. I grabbed a detonator from the mantle over the fireplace and securing it into my shirt pocket.
I went out to the garage and put 6 gas jugs into the bed of my truck and opened up some boxes of ammo for the machine gun that I had attached to the bed. I made sure the machine gun was loaded and I put some extra blankets and food into the back seat of the truck. Felicity came into the garage and put 4 rifles and 9 ammo boxes into the floor board of the front of the truck before we got in. I pushed the garage door button and it opened up as I cranked the engine. I turned off the landmines connected to the driveway and sped down the drive. I pushed the garage door button to close and lock it and when I got onto to the road, I activated the mines in the driveway. Felicity held the CB in her lap with a rifle between her legs as I drove down the road dodging abandon cars and trucks as we headed towards Memphis.

We reached the Memphis city limits and soon pulled up to the open gate of Graceland. I got as close to the front door as I could and honked the horn 3 times. The woman and little girl that looked to be about 14 years old as I got out of the car and quickly helped them put everything into the bed of the truck.
“Pack!” I looked over to where Felicity was pointing and I smiled.
“Felicity drive. I’m blowing those fuckers to hell!” I said getting into the bed of the truck and securing myself to the harness that was attached to the gun. The woman and child got into the truck and Felicity made the truck roar to life. She pulled out of the property and stopped in front of the Pack. She stuck her head out the window and I nodded cocking the Machine gun into the firing position.
“Put in the CD.” I yelled and soon the sound of Avenged Sevenfold was blaring out of the stereo. Felicity stepped on the gas and sped towards the Pack and I began firing. The dead fell to the ground and my sister ran them the fuck over just for good measure. We soon killed the whole Pack and she stopped the truck and turned off my music. I always loved listening to them while I slaughter those fucks. I got into the front seat of the truck deciding to let Felicity drive us home. I turned around in my seat as she drove.
“What are your names?” I asked smiling.
“I’m Sammy Shipley and this is my daughter Hannah.” I extended my hand and they both shook it.
“My name is Serenity and the crazy chick driving is my sister Felicity.” I said smiling and pointing my thumb towards her as she kept her eyes on the road but lifted up her hand to wave.
“It’s very nice to meet both of you. I just can’t believe we actually found some other people. I was thinking there weren’t any living people left.”
“I was thinking the same thing for 6 years but now none of us are alone. You two get some sleep and we’ll wake you when we’re home.” I said and Sammy nodded and pulled her daughter closer to her and closed their eyes. I turned back around in my seat and laid my head back closing my eyes to rest but not to sleep. I never sleep when we’re on the road. All I want to do is get home and get some food in me and take care of the people we rescued today
