Reunited
" Zachary James Baker?!" I responded to the guy who called my name.
" It is you! Wow! Its been what? Seven years or so? You live out here now?" Zack was asking.
" Yeah, I just moved out here today actually. And yup about seven years now. But anyways, how are you? Wheres the guys? I've missed you all!"
" Well all the guys are in an interview right now except for Matt. Hold on, I'll go get him." Zack then walked to this little room in the back of the store. My, oh my! That boy has got to be even cuter now than I remember. Not much changed about him though. He was older now. Got way more tattoos. He even has snake bites and a septum piercing now. Those were the only differences, really. He was still the same green eyed guy I was crushing on in my teen years. The same guy who taught me the ways of guitar. Good thing I decided NOT to unpack today.
" You know the guys?" Valary turned to me and asked.
" Yeah. We go way back to when I was younger" I began explaining. " I actually grew up with them. How about you? Do you know them?"
" As a matter of fact-" she began saying but was cut off by the sound of two men talking very loudly.
" What the fuck Vengeance?! We have an interview in less than 5 minutes. It can't wait?!" I heard one of the guys say.
" Dude, come on. Trust me this can't wait!" replied the other.
The two guys entered the area me and Valerie were in. One was Zack of course and the other was a very much tattooed Matt that I know and love.
" Holy shit! Vengeance you were right!" Matt yelled then turned to me. " Nessa! Its been too fucking long! We tried visiting you but your dad said you were working. How the hell are you? Oh, and I see you've met my girlfriend Val."
" I had no idea she was your girlfriend. She's my manager actually," I said while laughing. Crazy. Isn't that a coincedence?
" Oh, so you're the amazing guitar instructor every one is talking about?" Zack asked me with a smile.
" Yup, that would be me. If it weren't for you that is." I smiled at him. Yes, I was flirting but have you seen him?
Matt interrupted my thoughts saying, " Hey Nessa! We have an interview like right now. So I was thinking we should go out tonight, maybe catch up a bit? What do you say?"
" Yeah, that sounds great. Just one question. Where? I'm very new to the area." I explained.
" Well, I can pick you up Nessa? Here is my number just call me when you're ready to go," Zack said writing his number on a piece of paper and handing it to me.
" Sounds good to me! Well I have to go home and unpack a few things before I get ready. I'll call you later Zack. Bye you guys." I gave them both hugs and headed to the front with Valary.
" Did you and Zacky have a thing before?" she asked me.
" Who? Me? No, I mean I had a crush on him but that was it. Besides he wouldn't date me anyways."
" Well from an outside view you can see a connection between you two. The way he was looking at you, and you at him. I'd say it was cute." She continued, " Well, tomorrow we can talk about work. As for tonight, I will see you later right?" I nodded my head and said goodbye then headed for my car. First day of my new life, and its already going great. And to top it off I'm reunited with my old best friends.
When I got home I took a look around at the boxes and decided that I didnt want to unpack anything yet so I just grabbed my make up bag and began to get ready. Then I went through the first box closest to me and found a cute cocktail dress to wear. Since it didn't take me long to get ready I decided to call Zack and give him directions to my place.
ring... ring... ring...
" Hello?" Zack answered.
" Hey Zack! Its Nessa."
" Oh hey! I was beginning to think you werent going to call. Still want me to pick you up?" He asked.
" Of course I was going to call! And yes, I live in the Sunset Oak Apartments. Number 35. I'm pretty much ready too, so you can come whenever."
" Oh shit! I live like two apartment complexes over at Terra Vista. Just let me freshen up and I'll be right over."
" Okay, see you soon!" I hung up the phone. What were the odds that he lived so close to me? It was fate.
