Chapter 5: The King of Darkness
Erin's P.O.V
And just like that I blacked out...
It could have been out of fear, or it could have been from the fact that I just figured out that my favorite band were a group of angels.
It was just darkness for a while. It was peaceful which was a first for me; granted Johnny could be in the room controlling my mood. But either way peace was nice.
"Erin please wake up soon" I heard someone say in a low tone. I could barely hear whoever it was.
"So what do you think is inside of her?" I heard Arin ask.
"Whatever it is...it's powerful if he really wants it that badly" Matt said in a worried tone. I was still unaware that there was something deep inside of me. I don't remember anything before the age of 9 when I was taken from my parents.
"If you want I can try and get permission to see my father and see if he has any idea what the hell is going on. Seeing as he is a demon and he holds all demon contracts he has to have at least a little piece of what's going on" Brian said seriously.
"We can do this without him Syn; besides you never get permission to see him" Matt said sternly almost like him and Brian's father have had issues in the past.
"Matt I get that my dad is nearly the demon king or whatever but I am an angel and with everyone till death; I realize this is a risk but I want her to stay alive. So let me do this Matt" Brian said almost yelling. I felt myself coming out of the darkness and I slowly opened my eyes. Brian, Arin and Matt all made their way over to the bed.
"I see you finally decided to come back to us Erin" Brian said smiling softly helping hold my arm as I made my way to the edge of the bed.
"Don't push yourself too much Erin" Arin said to me sweetly. I smiled a little and moved the hair out of my face and went into the bathroom shutting the door behind me. After using the bathroom I stood in front of the mirror and splashed water on my face making sure that all this was really happening. I sat there gripping my chest since it was hard to breathe from taking everything in. I regained my composure and came out walking downstairs to get some coffee. I grabbed a glass and also got some for the guys and they kindly took it from me.
"So how long have I been out for?" I asked pacing around my guitars considering whether or not I wanted to play one.
"About 3 days" Matt said and my head shot towards him.
"Val watched you for the first two because we had a show and then the three of us have been here all day today. We just didn't want you to be alone" Arin stated.
"Wait so Johnny wasn't there at all?" I asked and they shook their head no.
"Why do you ask Erin?" Brian asked me.
"It was just peaceful. There was no thought of Jake or the fact that you are all angels. I didn't have to think or run or do anything. So I assumed Johnny was controlling it" I said and they just stared at one another.
"Well no; Johnny was not here so it was all just you" Brian said. I put my coffee on the dining room table and then grabbed one of my guitars and strummed it a little trying to get a groove going. I started playing a little bit of Beast and the Harlot because I just loved the darkness and craziness of the song. I started singing a little because it was habit.
"She's the dwelling place for demons; she's the cage for every unclean spirit, ever filthy bird and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings. Fallen now is Babylon the Great" I sang really loudly while I was playing and then stopped because I couldn't get into it as much as I wanted to. After I put the guitar back into its rightful place I noticed that everyone was staring at me.
"What?" I asked. They still didn't move at all.
"Whatever I am going to take a bath" I said and went upstairs to the bathroom. I stripped down and ran the bath water making sure that it was nice and hot. I looked at myself in the mirror trying to figure out what Jake was talking about while I had some time to myself. Obviously it couldn't be physical whatever it was. Or could it? Whatever he meant I think I knew at one point which meant that something else happened that made me forget the first nine years of my life. Just then I shut off the water and grabbed a towel and ran downstairs.
"Guys!!" I said stumbling right into Brian. He caught me making sure that I didn't lose my towel.
"What the hell are you doing Erin" Brian said laughing.
"I think I know why I don't remember what Jake was talking about" I said almost out of breath.
"Arin go ahead and tell them since I know you are reading into my mind right now" I said to him; he frowned a little but motioned for me to tell them myself.
“So I was about to get into the bathtub” I started but was cut off.
“Yes Erin and might I say you look great” Matt said and I hit him in the shoulder giggling a little.
“Anyways before Matt rudely interrupted me; I was thinking to myself that I can’t remember anything before I was taken from my parents when I was nine. Isn’t it odd that I can’t remember the slightest thing?” I asked motioning that whatever happened was not from forgetting on free will. Just then I saw Syn tighten his fists and he had an angry expression.
“Brian are you okay?” I asked him. He turned to me and then grabbed my arm tightly and drug me upstairs to my room.
“Get dressed” He said. I didn’t wait for him to leave I just dropped my towel revealing my small and fit body. I knew that he was looking at my ass right now. I grabbed a bra and underwear and throwing them on. I then grabbed a plain white t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans and put them on. He grabbed me again and drug me downstairs again. I put on my shoes when he stopped for a moment by the door. I saw Zack and he stopped Brian.
“What the hell are you doing with her Brian?” Zack asked taking hold of my hand and pulling me towards him. I saw Meaghan pop out of Zack’s house staring at me. I pushed Zack away a little not wanting Meaghan to see him holding my hand. I didn’t need the extra drama.
“I have to take her to my father” Brian said making Zack widen his eyes.
“Don’t do this to her Brian” Zack said making me worried.
“He is the only one who can answer our questions; and I am pretty sure that he is the one who did this to her” Brian said getting really mad.
“Did what to her Brian?” He asked trying to piece it together. Brian started walking again but I pulled back.
“Brian stop; just give me a minute!” I yelled and then put my hand on his arm and jolted him unexpectedly; how I have no idea or even where it came from. He stopped pulling and turned to me.
“Ouch” He said loudly.
“Listen closely Zack; I was taken from my parents at nine years old and I have no idea by who or why and I don’t remember anything at all from before that” I said and he just looked at me. I saw Meaghan starting to come over here and cuddle up to Zack. He just kept gazing into my eyes.
“Brian what do you need me to do” I asked still looking at Zack and I saw his face sadden. Brian was pacing back and forth.
“I need you to think about my father really hard okay; just think of it as summoning” He said and then all of the sudden there was a mass amount of fog and a loud boom throwing us to the ground. I wasn’t sure where anyone was at the moment but I felt a hand pull me by my long hair and drag me up.
“She doesn’t need to summon me son; I am here” I heard the man say and the fog subsided. Zack inched towards me until the man looked at him.
“Don’t touch me or her right now Zack; you only get one warning” He said.
“Who are you?” I asked the man trying to break free from his tight grip in my hair.
“I am Papa Gates; now dear what is it that you need? Do you need me to grab Jake for you?” He asked laughing a little.
“No; please no” I said crying now hoping that Jake wasn’t lurking around or waiting for his call.
“Dad please; I just was hoping that you would tell me why it is that Erin is so special and why it is that Jake is so obsessed with her. I was the one that wanted you here” Brian said coming towards him. I couldn’t stop crying and Papa Gates covered my mouth tightly.
“She is a loud one; well I can tell you that she doesn’t remember anything because of me. It was necessary Junior. And Jake we he just wants the power that she holds and there is only one way to get that from her but that comes at a price you understand” He said and I reached my hand to Zack who was about 6 inches away from me. He reached out and grabbed my hand and held it tightly and then broke down letting go of my hand.
“Well I see that Mr. Vengeance has a connection to Erin” He said laughing at him while he tried to get back up. Meaghan helped him and looked mad and sad at the same time; he stared at me intensely. Papa Gates let his hand out of my hair and turned me so that I was facing him.
“I swear to god dad if you fucking hurt her I will fucking hurt you” Brian said trying to make a stand for me. Meaghan came over to where I was being held and Papa Gates just looked confused; she grabbed hand and closed her eyes. I felt a little dizzy and then she gasped and then let go and moved back away from me. Papa Gates just laughed and looked down at me.
“What the fuck was that about Meaghan?” Zack asked and she backed away from him as well.
“I hope the two of you rot; I can’t believe I became who I am today for you” She said and then we saw her run to Zack's house and then come back out and drive off.
“So I think that you should call all of your friends out here right now Junior” He said to Syn. In the blink of an eye everyone including the women were here.
“Now that all of you are here we can get down to business; first off Erin definitely not normal; second Jake wants her because of the power she holds like I was just telling Junior and Mr. Vengeance here; and third, no I will not reverse what I have done. I can’t risk her knowing her own potential it is far too dangerous” Papa Gates said. A risk to know what I am and what’s inside of me; how in the hell could that be a risk?
“Please just let me go; I don’t need to know but please I don’t want Jake to come after me; I just want to have a normal life” I said breaking down.
“Sshh my dear; there there” He said looking into my eyes and rubbed my hair.
“Dad don’t you do it” Brian said. I was going to look back but Papa Gates held my face right to his. His eyes changed in color and he smiled and then he grabbed my hand and kissed it. He moved towards my wrist and then he snapped his teeth into it making me howl in pain. He dropped my wrist from his bite and then disappeared. I dropped to my knees in pure shock..what was happening to my life.

So please welcome Papa Gates to the story! He is the King of Darkness!Meaghan is an angel and she can feel connections between people and has a sixth sense type of power as well!
Please realize this chapter is somewhat of a filler until tomorrow when I throw some more twists into the story!
The other girls gifts will be revealed in the next chapter as well!
We are finally getting into everything with Erin!
