Chapter 46: Goodbyes
Matt’s P.O.V
She left with him… She actually fucking left with him. What the hell could have gone so wrong that she just walked right out there and left willingly with him. I looked over at Zack and he was about to walk back inside but I went over and grabbed him by the shoulder.
“Do you even remotely comprehend what the fuck is going on Zack” I said to him shaking him a little and he just stood there silently.
“Dude what the fuck is wrong with you? Did you really need to let her go like that…. You fucking love her and promised her that you would love her till the end. Those vows mean more than you think…. This is not a replay of your time with Gena… You are acting so fucking stupid” I said and he just shot me an evil glare and then I hit him and he fell to the ground holding his face. Val came and pulled me back keeping me from doing anymore.
“Val let him go; I to want to know why the hell he let his wife go…. You made her walk out that fucking door and now she is on the wrong side! You could have fucking protected her! I believed in you! THAT YOU LOVED HER! SO WHY AM I LOSING MY BESTFRIEND ZACK!?” Izzy said starting off softly and then booming in anger and sorrow. She came over and picked Zack up by the collar of his shirt right into the air and she was bawling and she dropped him and she also dropped to her knees. She punched him in the face and he got up a little and started crying… breaking even more.
“Enough guys….. I think that is enough. I think that he does feel the magnitude of this so we just need to give him time to process” Johnny said helping him up and then was startled when Jake appeared out of nowhere. He was crying as well and Zack walked over to him and hit him really hard.
“What the fuck did he do to her!” Zack yelled and Jake just stood there.
“In two days… Erin is going to make the vow to Papa Gates… I don’t know what the hell happened but you better fucking fix it…. That girl has put up a tremendously huge wall and is going rogue… Just fix it somehow… some way” Jake said seriously towards Zack. They both stood there staring at one another and nobody knew what the hell either of them were thinking…not even Arin.
“Two days…. I need those two days…. Don’t let him do anything sooner than that. Do I have your word?” Zack asked him and Jake nodded and they shook hands and Jake disappeared.
Jake’s P.O.V
I returned to hell and Arin was sitting by Papa Gates throne talking to Meaghan about the dress that she was going to wear for the vow. I walked over and she gave me a smile but I knew that she was completely heartbroken about Zack.
“Can we talk for a few minutes Erin?” I asked and she got up and we walked towards the double doors. She was quiet and didn’t really know what to say.
“I just got back from seeing the guys Erin” I said and she stopped in her tracks.
“Why did you go and see them… I walked away from them so they wouldn’t have to deal with this… So just leave this alone Jake and focus on the fact that my big day is coming up” She said taking me off guard. I reached in my pocket and handed her what was in my hand that Zack had slipped in my pocket on the way out.
“Zack wanted you to have this” I said and then walked away.
Erin’s P.O.V
I sat there and watched Jake walk away and I sat there wondering what the hell he just handed me. I opened my hand and it was my wedding rings. I sat there staring at them and still was in awe every single time I gazed at them. But I shook my head and shoved them in my pocket and then turned around and saw Papa Gates talking to Meaghan. I sighed and put on a happy and evil face and walked over to him. He turned and saw me and smiled and put his arm around my waist.
“Hello there my devious bride; nice to see you happy today” Gates said and I rubbed my hand up his chest playing along with this whole thing… This was going to be my life now… He rubbed my hair and I thought to myself how much I wanted a change.
“Sir I think I am in need of a change” I said sucking up to him so that he thought that I was being cute and playful. He looked into my eyes which were dark because I was slowly forcing the angel side of me out.
“What kind of a change?” He asked raising his eyebrows.
“I am thinking a change in hair color; I want something that will pop and that will bring out my green eyes and reflects the new me” I said sexily and he contemplated it.
“Alright go for it; I am excited to see what it will look like after you do it. So run along love and I will see you soon” He said and kissed my neck.
“And Erin… If you don’t come back I am going to be very displeased and I will find you” He said just as I started walking away. And just then I decided to take one for the team and I walked over and kissed Papa Gates and then teleported away. I ended up on Main Street and walked into the salon.
“What can I do for you?” The blonde girl said with a huge smile.
“I want to change the color of my hair… You see I recently just made a huge change in my life and so I want to change my hair color to reflect it” I said and she smiled and I could tell that she was really excited to do this.
“Well I am thinking that you would be stunning as a redhead” She said and I clapped my hands and let her work her magic. After a solid hour she dried my hair and when I looked in the mirror my hair was this gorgeous orangish red and it just was really cute. I took a photo of it and was very pleased with it.
“Thank you so much! What is your name?” I asked her and she smiled really big.
“My name is Gena! I am so glad that you love your new hair!” She said and I paid and walked out not realizing that I had just met Zacky’s ex wife. I figured that it wouldn’t hurt going to my house and picking up a few things. I looked at myself in the window. I liked the outfit that I had on. Some white skinny jeans and then I was wearing a black camisole that hugged my abs and I had this really cute leather jacket on and was wearing really cute black heels with it. I walked into the house walking right past Izzy and Jimmy who were most likely startled by my presence. I looked around my closet and I felt Izzy grab my shoulder and I grabbed her hand and swung her onto the bed.
“Don’t touch me” I said and I snapped my fingers teleporting some of my stuff down to hell so that I had more options for outfits. I walked over to Izzy and she seemed frightened of me.
“What the hell happened to your eyes Erin… What the hell has Papa Gates done to you” She said and tried to rub my face. I walked over to Jimmy and he just sat there speechless.
“I think I will go and say bye to everyone” I said and walked downstairs and out the door.
“I NEED EVERYONE OUTSIDE FRONT AND CENTER!!” I yelled and everyone was instantaneously out the door and around me in the blink of an eye.
“I just thought that I would come and say goodbye to you all; I know that you don’t approve of this but realize that this is my choice. This is me offering you a chance at a normal life… So don’t waste it” I said and I felt someone come up behind me and hug me… and after a moment I knew it was Zack. I put my hands on him taking in his touch but because I knew that I needed to go I sent a jolt through my hands and he back away and I turned to him and he grabbed my cheeks trying to reason with me.
“Don’t let him get into your head Erin… You are the only girl for me. You need to stay” He said and I backed up.
“It’s not enough Zack; you let me walk out the door without a word… You let me go with Papa Gates without a word” I said and then kissed him deeply and backed up again.
“I love you but… I can’t” I said and then teleported back down to hell. Meaghan saw me and got up and greeted me with a hug.
“I looooove the new hair color Erin! I am sure that he is going to go crazy over it!” She said and I just smiled.
“Did my stuff get through alright?” I asked and she nodded and I made my way to Papa Gates office. I stood there and felt a tingle on my lips and was having a hard time getting over the fact that I kissed Zack….
