Chapter 40: All Your Games
Zack's P.O.V
I sat there with the vampire Erin around until she disappeared because I noticed that Erin had came back over. I ran over to her and kissed her deeply.
"You look great; are you ready to go and eat?" I asked her and she nodded picking up her bag again. I was hoping that I wouldn't hear any other side of her while we were out and about. We went to this small cafe down main street and we waited patiently for the waiter to bring our food. This was the perfect time to talk to her about Gena.
"So the topic of Gena came up last night and I noticed that you nearly choked out of being surprised. So I wanted to tell you about what went down okay" I said.
"Okay" She said reaching across the table and holding my hand.
"So for a really long time I was dating Gena and back in 2011 we got married but after a little while we called it quits for personal reasons. Mainly because we didn't really mix well and it just didn't feel right so we ended it. I don't want you to feel like that is going to happen between us because being married to you feels right Erin. I love you so much. I am sorry that I didn't tell you about Gena before" I said drifting off the subject because I really didn't enjoy going back to that point in my life.
"It was just really a shock Zack; I am not worried that we are going to get divorced. I just felt weird cause it came from a stranger" She said laughing and I felt relieved that she really wasn't worried about anything. After our food arrived and we ate we just sat there enjoying the fact that there was no one else around. That is until I saw Jake and Meaghan out of the corner of my eye.
Erin's P.O.V
Jake and Meaghan showed up which really ruined our lunch date.... I really wanted to just be alone with Zack for once and they really didn't understand that.
"What the hell do you want this time" I said getting irritated.
"So you guys seemed to have had an amazing time last night. Thanks for accepting the drink that I sent over Erin" Jake said and I didn't really remember much because at the end of the night I was super drunk and laughing stuff up with Iz.
"So Zack how are you feeling? Seen anything "unusual" lately?" Meaghan said to Zack which confused the living daylights out of me. Zack looked pissed and frustrated now. I stood up and grabbed Zack's hand.
"We are leaving now" I said and pulled him up and started walking away.
"Papa Gates wants to see the two of you right now" Jake said and Zack pulled away and turned around.
"We want nothing to do with Papa Gates right now. Why can't we just be left alone?" He asked and then grabbed my hand again and started walking down the street.
“Please will you just come down and speak to him…. He has insight on your issue” Meaghan said and Zack sighed. He walked back over to Jake and Meaghan.
“Fine we will go” He said and I started freaking out on the inside and pulled away.
“No; I am not going anywhere near him… He will kill me” I said and Zack pulled me close to him.
“I won’t let him hurt you Erin… trust me” He said and I teleported us down along with Meaghan and Jake. They led us through the main area and it brought back memories when we made it to the double doors. I sat there holding back as they opened the doors and I heard Papa Gates laugh. I was staring down at the ground not wanting to make eye contact… This didn’t feel right. I got the guts to look up but Papa Gates wasn’t at his throne.
“Hello my dear” I heard right by my ear. I jumped while turning around and I backed up.
“You are still just an angel….. pity” He said confusing me. I felt Zack come up behind me and I could feel the warmth coming from him. He held onto my waist and Papa Gates just cocked his head to the side and then walked over to his throne. Zack walked with me and I just sighed knowing that this could end really badly.
“So I brought you two down here because I am pretty sure that Brian told you about what I told him while he was on the phone the other day” He said and Zack looked really confused.
“He doesn’t know Papa Gates” I said quietly and both he and Zack shot their gazes to me.
“Well why don’t you inform him my love… It will give him insight on the little problem that your husband is having” Papa Gates said and I just looked at Zack and he gave me a really strained look.
“You have been having issues? Why didn’t you tell me” I asked wondering why he was keeping me out of the loop. Papa Gates busted out laughing.
“You two really are afraid to share things with each other” He said walking over to me. I could see that Zack tensed up as he rubbed my shoulder.
“What if I told you Zack… that I had a vision that you wanted to make Erin a vampire… and so you did… but then you lost control and you stole the angel side of Erin by mistake… I know that you have been seeing the angel and vampire side of Erin and they have been haunting you a little bit” He said and I looked over at Zack.
“Do you not love me enough the way that I am?” I asked and Zack looked like he had a bad case of déjà vu. I sat there and Papa Gates came up behind me and Zack…
“Ah you don’t realize that the way you got your powers back has impaired you a little bit” He said in my ear.
“And that drink that Jake gave you was just the icing on the cake…. You just had to drink it… Would you like me to tell you what I have done to you Erin?” He said and rubbed my hair from the side of my face and my neck. Zack turned a little so that he could get in Papa Gates face.
“Don’t you do anything to her” He said getting really upset.
“Remember when you used to be able to feel her Zack?” He said running his hands up my back while talking to Zack. I was really tense because every time he touches me he either bites me or rapes me.
“Please stop” I said freaking out about him being this close to me.
“Shhhh” Papa Gates said and I shut my mouth not wanting to disrespect him.
“Meaghan would you mind taking Zack out of the room for a moment” Papa Gates said. Great he was going to off me once again…. I looked at Zack and nodded trying to reassure him that I was going to be okay. He left the room and I was stuck with Papa Gates. I waited and could feel him behind me just breathing in my scent.
“You can’t run this time…” He said putting his hands on the side of my neck. I wanted to scream so bad but I felt Papa Gates slide his hand onto my mouth.
“You can scream but after they escorted your husband from the room they teleported him back home… he can’t save you so just realize that this is going to happen. Everything that has happened has been me luring you down here so that I can leave my mark on you” He said and he bit at his wrist and blood spilled out.
“Time for you to once again embrace the vampire side” He said and once again forced his wrist to my mouth making me take down his blood. He stopped and then he moved my neck to the side and he kissed it gently.
“Please cooperate and I will make sure that they have no idea what has happened to you. This time you will be back within minutes and then you will come back and feel strong. You won’t be here… you will be home” He said and I took a deep breath and before I was ready he snapped and bit into my neck. I grabbed at his arms trying to get him to stop and then I faded…. Into the nothing….
This was all a game to him…
