Matt’s P.O.V

Still in shock everyone cried as we all watched Erin’s lifeless body.

“Choices needed to be made” Zack said and just picked up Erin and carried her into his house and up to his room. I shut his door making sure it was just the two of us.

“Wanna walk me through why Erin is lying dead on your bed?” I asked trying to make sense of the situation.

“We were having a quiet afternoon at the beach and Jake and….Meaghan….came out of nowhere and…Meaghan…stabbed Erin multiple times and broke the blade off in Erin’s stomach and whatever that blade was made of made Erin vulnerable and unable to do anything. Then Jake stabbed her in the back and left me with her. Even after digging the blade out she wasn’t able to heal or anything almost like there was poison let loose in her system. She was dying and they left her bleeding out….I had to do it Matt…I had to..” Zacky said losing any composure that he had left.

“Wait so you mean that she is changing right now?” I asked. Suddenly Syn opened the door and shut it and came and sat down next to Zack.

“Tell me….Did you let her drink your blood?” Syn asked Zack.

“I had no other options Syn; for fuck sakes minutes before that I told her that I wanted to be exclusive and she agreed and next thing I know she is dying in my lap… I still watched her take her last fucking breath. I did what I thought was right Syn… It was a judgment call” Zack said getting really defensive.

“Zack; I understand. No one is telling you that you did the wrong thing. You love her and you would do anything for her; you are giving her life again and that is an amazing thing” Syn said to him and hugged him.

“How long will she be out?” Zack asked him breaking from the hug and turning to Erin again.

“She is not human so I don’t know; it could be hours, days, and maybe weeks; for the time being I think that we should get a hold of my father and figure out what the hell that was all about. Me, you and Matt” Brian said and I knew that I was in because they practically made Zack kill his own girlfriend. I saw Zack rocking back and forth staring at Erin. Her body had no glow; it was just dead. It made me want to confront Papa Gates more and more.

“Call you dad Brian” I said sternly clenching my fists.

Brian’s P.O.V

I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and dialed my father’s number as Matt told me. He must be pretty mad at my father to be in on this plan.

“Junior” My father said.

“We need to talk” I said trying to not seem too angry about this.

“When and where son” He asked me.

“Half an hour down underneath the old pier; bring Jake and Meaghan. I will have Matt and Zack with me” I said and then hung up on him not giving him any option but to come and talk with us. We took a shot of tequila before we walked out. We walked there knowing that we need to breathe and get some air before confronting the man that killed Erin. After a long walk we waited under the pier for my father to arrive. After a few minutes my father along with Jake and Meaghan appeared and they all looked smug. I noticed Meaghan taking a good look at Zack.

“I would keep your distance from him Meaghan because he is so on edge right now” I said to her and she looked at me and smiled. My father walked over to me and stood closely by me.

“So tell me son; what decision did Mr. Vengeance make?” He asked me and Zack looked over at us.

“Why don’t you just ask Zack” I said to him pointing to Zack. He looked over at Zack knowing that he was going to flip shit if he said the wrong thing to him.

“What did you Zack?” He asked him.

Zack’s P.O.V

He turned to me and I really didn’t want to lose my cool for Erin’s sake but fuck it was really hard to do right now.

“What did you do Zack?” He asked me folding his arms across his chest. I clenched my fists trying to stop being so angry and think about the fact that Erin will be awake soon.

“I did what I had to do seeing as how you sent Jake and Meaghan to murder my girlfriend. I watched her beg me to take the broken blade out of her; watched her cry and bleed out on me and watched her take her last breath; you don’t deserve to know what my decision was you miserable fool” I said getting in his face making sure that he knew that I had a lot of love for Erin. I saw Meaghan out of the corner of my eye get more and more pissed off as I talked. I looked over at her and she gazed into my eyes.

“I understand that you hate me for everything that happened but realize that I can’t help that she and I have a connection. And I apologize that I kissed her while we were still together” I said and she walked over to me and slapped me but I didn’t move because I was stronger than her and was really pissed off. She cried a little and slapped me again but then Jake pulled her away.

“I have a feeling that we will be seeing Erin again; I doubt that Zack would just let her die” Jake said watching me.

“Just tell me though; why did you do it? Why did you have him make that decision?” Brian asked his father trying to figure out what his master plan was. Papa Gates just stood there because he wasn’t going to reveal anything about it.

“Fine what was on the blade that made her unable to use any of her powers?” I asked Papa Gates. He turned to me once again and put his hands on my shoulders and took a deep breath in.

Val’s P.O.V

I sat in Zack’s bedroom watching Erin; it was weird not seeing her skin glow and seeing her smile. She was still covered in blood which was hard to watch. I went to her house and grabbed some white skinny jeans and a white t-shirt and took it over to Zack’s. I stripped her down and washed the blood off of her body and her hair and put some makeup on her and left her hair curly after drying it. I put the clothes on her and then lied her back down on the bed. I held her hand and put my forehead on her cold skin. I got up and went downstairs for some coffee. I couldn’t tell how long it was going to be until my bestfriend woke up. Michelle and Kim walked into the house and smiled a little.

“Any change?” Kim asked hugging me.

“Not yet; I cleaned her up and put some new clothes on her” I said to them.

“Sweetie she will be glad that you did that; what should we do in the mean time? I hope the guys are alright” Michelle said rubbing my back making me worry about Matt. I hoped that everything was going okay.

Matt’s P.O.V

Papa Gates did not want to give up any information or why he did what he did. He was really pissing me off; he hurt my bestfriend and I wanted to kill him. I walked over to him and folded my arms across my chest.

“I don’t think you want to get into with me again Papa Gates; seriously you made a huge mistake with what you did.” I said to him. He puffed up a little trying to intimidate me.

“Matthew; you realize that you will not ever be able to defeat me; yes that was a huge scene that we made last time that I may have caused after threatening Val; but come on, Erin doesn’t even come close to Val’s level” Papa Gates said to me making me swing my fist right into his face making him fly into one of the posts holding up the pier. He sat there crouched over on the ground and Jake tried helping him but he shrugged him off and then got up and ran at me full force and punched me in the stomach and I quickly got up and kicked him to the ground and hunched over him punching him again and again. Brian came over and put his boot onto Papa Gates neck.

“Don’t move or I will fucking kill you dad” He said taking me by surprise. Zack still sat there having a glaring type contest with Meaghan. His anger was radiating through us all. I got up and went over to Zack and nudged him.

“Zack I get that you are pissed off but we have other obligations” I said to him trying to make him see reason. He nodded and we walked over to Papa Gates.

“When we told you that you had visitation rights that didn’t mean fucking murdering my girlfriend!” Zack yelled and kicked Papa Gates; he however did it so hard that Brian went flying backwards. Jake ran towards Zack and took a swing at him but Zack turned and grabbed his fist and then he threw him head first into the sand. I now knew that this was a bad idea. Brian came back over and grabbed the blade from Papa Gates pocket and backed up. Papa Gates started freaking out but Zack kicked him back down.

“You don’t even need to bother getting up you fucking asshole; you better tread lightly with me because I am so angry and pissed that I could fucking kill you and both of these scum bags if I wanted to” Zack said crouching over Papa Gates and then spit on him and walked off. Both Brian and I were shocked by his behavior but we let it go because he was technically grieving.

Kim’s P.O.V

Arin and I sat here with Erin while waiting for the guys to get back from talking with Papa Gates.
He sat there holding my hand tightly and I closed my eyes just trying to relax from the really bad past day.

*God I hope that she wakes soon* I heard out of nowhere.

“I hope that she wakes soon too” I said cuddling up to Arin more and he jumped a little and then gave me a weird look.

“What was that?” He asked me giving me a really confused look.

*Today is just getting crazier by the minute* I heard. I was just thinking that he was talking to me.

“I know right; there is just so much going on lately and just makes it a crazy time” I said back to him.

“Kim honey; do you realize that I wasn’t saying that out loud; I was only thinking it” Arin said to me and my eyes shot open and I shot up and started jumping up and down like a crazy girl. Arin got up and hugged me tightly and then I settled down since we were in the same room with Erin. I held her hand.

“Erin I got my first gift; I guess you are the band’s lucky charm. I hope you wake up soon my love” I whispered to her.

Zack’s P.O.V

I was still livid as I rounded the corner of our block but I was eager to check on Erin. The guys caught up with me finally.

“Zack you have got to calm down; Erin wouldn’t want you to be upset or worried about her; she would want you to stay by her side and try and be happy for when she comes back to us” Matt said to me and I stopped in front of the house; I grabbed a cigarette and just relaxed knowing that Matt was right. Soon I would get to see her eyes and her smile; and that was all that
mattered to me.

“What do you think Erin is going to be like when she wakes up?” Brian asked as we sat at the table on my porch. I could think of many different things that I hoped she had when she woke up.

“I think she is gonna be freaked out at first but then when she really gets into being this way she will be her normal self, warm, heartfelt, strong and bubbly like usual” Matt said.

“All I can say is that her eyes are gonna be intense; did you see the glow they had when she channeled her power? Because now they are going like in your face beautiful” Brian said and I smiled longing to see her eyes.

“And her hair; oh god she has some amazing hair and it’s just gonna be like wow” Matt said. They literally loved that girl and so did I. I went inside and sat down in the chair next to my bed and noticed that Val made sure that she had fresh clothing and that she had a shower.

She would be back with me soon…I had to keep telling myself that….

She will be back….
