Promises Broken and Words Left Unspoken
I Think You Remind Him of Your Mom

I think I shocked him when I finally leaned all the way up. I pressed my lips to his and locked my arms around his neck, as his hands gripped my hips tighter. Wanna know the best part? He was kissing back. The guy I've liked since seventh grade, and I'm finally kissing him. I haven’t felt this happy in a long time.
I smiled when we pulled away. "I've wanted to do that for a long time," He nodded and grinned, but it was only half there. So I finally spoke up, "And...I love you too," I whispered somewhat worried about feeling this way when we weren’t even ‘dating.’ That's when the real smile came out. He closed the distance between our lips and kissed me again. This kiss was filled with more passion than the first.
I felt bad pulling away from that one just to answer the phone. Don't ask me how, but I managed to stay in his lap while getting the phone. "Hello?" I asked as I left my right arm around his neck. I frowned as my dad continued to tell me he would be away for work for another month or so. I let out a deep sigh before speaking again. "No I completely understand," I hung up before resting my head on Brian's shoulder. "I feel like ever since Jake died...he doesn't want to be anywhere near me," I whispered softly. My happy mood fading faster than it came.
Brian gently placed his hand on my right cheek. "You were really close with Jake. And you guys have a couple of really big similarities to your mom. Your eye color, ya know. And he has to see it everyday when he looks at you. I guess it hurts a bit too much," He reasoned. I bit my lip but I knew he was right. I sighed and nodded before closing my eyes to keep from tearing up. I didn’t want to cry anymore.
"I don't know what to do Brian," I whispered in a tone that sounded broken. I felt him rub my back lightly.
"Don't worry about it," He whispered in my ear before kissing my cheek. "He'll come around. I know he will," He stated while I hoped he was right. I leaned back against him as his phone began to ring. He answered it and I smiled softly at the sound of Zacky's voice. "Shit man, I forgot. I'll be there soon," Brian stated before standing up, forcing me off of his lap, and hanging up. "Band practice, you want to come watch?" He asked me with a hopeful smile.
