Maddie had just gotten out of the shower; she was wrapped in a towel and was flipping through the clothes in her wardrobe, trying to figure out what on earth to wear that evening. She had her iPod on the stereo and was trying to relax and stay calm, but every time she thought back to that morning at the beach her heart started beating erratically- she didn’t understand how he could make her feel that way, so utterly spellbound. In the end she decided on wearing some black skinnies and a nice top; she had no idea where he was planning on taking her, so didn’t want to look overdressed. She also decided on a pair of heels, as he towered over her, she was only 5’5 whereas he was over 6 foot. Maddie went over and dried her hair, it was naturally quite straight but was going wavy; she clearly hadn’t washed all the seawater in the shower. She smiled and returned to her daydream about Matt, until interrupted by a knock at the door.
“Oh God, oh God, oh God” she said running around trying to quickly tidy up her apartment before walking to the door. Stopping before reaching for the handle, she took a deep breath to regain her composure and then opened the door.
Matt was standing there in a T-shirt and black pants, so she was immediately glad she’d worn what she had. He smiled when he saw her, exposing the cutest dimples she had ever seen, how had she only noticed this now?! She thought to herself, as she looked into his eyes, giving her the answer to her question.
“You look beautiful.” He said to her, looking her up and down.
“ Why thank you, you don’t look too bad yourself.” She smirked and he chuckled.
“Are you ready to go?” he asked, and led her to his car. She got in the passenger side and he drove off; they didn’t talk much, the radio was on but Maddie kept looking out of the corner of her eye at him to see him doing the same as her, making them both giggle.

It wasn’t long before they pulled up at a restaurant just outside of town; he walked over and opened the door for her as she thanked him. The waitress led them over to the booth he’d booked and handed them the menus.
“Tell me more about yourself Maddie, I want to know all about you.” He asked.
“There’s not much to tell, honestly” she said.
“Well why did you move here? It seems a pretty big change.” She looked down as he felt his eyes probing her, sensing there was something amiss. “Are you OK?” he asked as her lip started trembling. “Mads what’s wrong?” he put his hands on top of hers and she looked up. She’d always had a hard time talking about her past to anyone, but as she looked at him, she just felt she could trust him. She sighed before beginning,
“Well you know I moved here from Ohio,” he nodded, “well I didn’t exactly have the happiest of upbringings. My father left me, my mother and sister Carly when I was 4 and my mother turned to alcohol to get over the pain. My sister was 7 at the time and tried her best to look after me, as my mom did nothing but lay about all day drinking with her friends. As we got older Carly really struggled with our life and started going out all day and night, she came back and looked really weird and acted strange, I didn’t know what it was at first but I later found out she was on drugs. I think she felt it would ease some of her pain. I remember when I was 13, Carly had been missing for a few days, but that was nothing unusual by then, I had learned to look after myself. Someone came to the door; I answered it as mom was in bed with a hangover as usual. It was the police, they sat me down, asked about mom and where she was but I told them she wasn’t around, they then told me Carly was dead. She’d died of a heroin overdose and they found her in a park. I just couldn’t take it in; she’d practically been my mother. Mom coped badly, just drinking more. It was terrible. I couldn’t go anywhere without it reminding me of her, my school grades were terrible. I left home at 16 but stayed in the same town in Ohio, until I saved enough money to come and live here, it’s the only way I’ll even have a chance of getting a fresh start.”
Maddie exhaled slowly, she’d never told anyone all of this, and she couldn’t believe she had, but it felt so much better having Matt know about it. She looked at him; he just looked speechless.
“Wow… Maddie I’m so sorry, I shouldn’t have asked, I’m sorry I put you through that.” He eventually said.
“No, no I’m glad. It feels as if a huge weight has been lifted off me, I can finally start living this new life.”
“Well I want you to know I will always be here for you. Always.” He said looking at her earnestly. She squeezed his hand that was still on hers on the table. They ordered their food and talked more about her past and his, she felt so much more free and able to talk about anything with him.

At the end of the evening he paid the check and left. When they got back to her apartment she invited him in. Before she’d even closed the door he leaned down and kissed her passionately, she kicked the door closed and put her arms round his neck as he put his round her waist. His tongue found its way into her mouth and they walked towards her bedroom, he took his T-shirt off as she kicked off her shoes and got rid of her top. He pushed her back onto the bed and kissed her again, his chest pressed up against hers. She could feel the bulge in his pants so she pulled them and his boxers down to expose him completely before taking off her pants and underwear as he removed her bra in one fluid movement. He paused for a minute to gauge her reaction and as she nodded slowly pushed himself into her. She moaned as he kissed her neck and started to move in and out of her. His arms tightened around her as his pace quickened and she could feel she was about to climax, after a few seconds they both did at the same time before falling onto her bed breathing heavily.
“Just so you know,” she said, turning to face him “I never do that on a first date so you should consider yourself very lucky.” He smiled.
“I’m honored, I feel very special.” He said as he leaned over and kissed her softly; he then put his arms around her as they fell asleep, exhausted.
