The next few days I tried so hard not to blow up on Zacky but he was gone every night, I mean we’d go to bed and then I’d wake up and he wouldn’t be there. I was currently on my way to Brian’s so I could talk to Cassandra about it. I left Misty in charge of babysitting; I didn’t think Jimmy would wake up anyways it was at least two in the morning. I parked my car and stomped up to the house, I didn’t even bother to knock. I just walked in and Cassandra was sitting on the couch. “Are you okay?” She asked
“No.” I stated
“What’s wrong dearie?” She asked standing up and walking over towards me.
“I think Zack is cheating on me.” I said
“Why do you think that?” She asked
“Because when we go to bed he’s there, and when Blaze or Zayleigh starts to cry he’s not. I called him the first night it happened and he was telling some girl to shut up because I was calling. Cassandra what am I doing wrong?” I asked
“Nothing love, he’s not cheating on you.” She said
“How do you know?” I asked
“I. Ugh come with me.” She said
I nodded and we walked down into her basement where all the boys and the guy from their record label were sitting around. The boys were playing. Cassandra walked down and the guy from the label stopped the track and Brian looked up and smiled and then Zack looked at her looking pissed. She walked in and started talking.
“Is there any way that we can hear this?” I asked the guy
He nodded and pushed a button and then I could hear Zack and Cassandra talking
“Why did you bring her here?” Zack asked
“I had my reasons Zack.” Cassandra said
“What were they; I was going to give her this as a surprise.” He said
Give me what?
“She came in on the verge of tears because she thinks you’re fucking cheating on her Zachary! I’m not going to let her believe that you’re cheating on her when you’re recording your next album. The night she called you and I was talking to you, yeah she thought you were with some woman.” Cassandra said
I sighed. Zacky came out and pulled me upstairs.
“I’m sorry, I should have told you that we had started recording. I love you too much to cheat on you baby. Our family is too important to me and my life is well valued. Because you know if I was Brian and Matt would kill me and then when I was dead and Jimmy Senior found out why he’d kill me in the spirit world.” He said “I’m glad I didn’t blow up on you then.” I said
He smiled.
“I have been here every night you woke up and I wasn’t there and that girl you heard when you called was Cassandra.” He said
“Why do you leave during the night and not do this during the day?” I asked
“I was going to give you the new record as a surprise so I didn’t want to tell you.” He said
“Well give up early tonight and come home.” I winked and kissed his cheek.
He nodded and I just watched him.
“I’m going to head home. Apologize to them for me interrupting because I was scared.” I said
He nodded and kissed my forehead.
“I love you.” He said
“I love you too.” I said
I walked back out to my car and drove home.
“Well that was shorter than expected.” Misty said
“Any of them wake up?” I asked
“Nope. Everything okay?” She asked
“That’s good. Yeah everything is fine, just me being a wife and overthinking things.” I said
“So he’s not cheating?” She asked
“No he’s recording. He wanted to give me the newest record as a present but that’s blown out of the water. You can go to bed now.” I said
She nodded. “I have to get up at the ass crack of fucking dawn for McKenna’s second to last physical therapy session.” She said
I smiled.
“Night Brice.” She said
“Night Misty.” I said
I laid down on the couch and for once fell asleep into a peaceful sleep.
