First Days & Wagers
Motley Crue was the first band to arrive at the arena for their first show. Everyone was getting ready; Celestia was waking up drinking her coffee when Nikki sat beside her.
“You ready for your first day?” Nikki asked the still drowsy Celestia
“Yeah just let me get the coffee flowing in me.” She mumbled taking another big gulp of coffee, causing Nikki to smile; she was indeed his daughter, not willing to work without coffee.
“Well the head roadie, Ricky will be coming in a few minutes, he knows you’re my daughter but he won’t say anything you can trust him. He’ll show you the ropes; remember if you need anything…” Nikki started but got cut off by his daughter
“I know, you are just a call away…”
“Smartass…” Nikki said ruffling her hair
“I learn from the best.” Celestia said kissing her father on the cheek
“Good morning all!” Ricky said boarding the bus.
“Blow it out your ass Ricky.” Mick grumbled from the couch
“Hey Rich, you know none of us are morning people man.” Tommy said yawning from his bunk
“Well I’ll be out of your way in a second I just came to get Celestia.” Ricky said laughing at all the grumpy people aboard the bus.
“OK, OK, I’m ready just no more cheerful shit. I’ll see you later daddy. Love you.” Celestia said giving Nikki another kiss on the cheek before grabbing her crew pass hanging it around her neck.
“What no love for your favorite uncles?” Tommy yelled
“I love you guys!” Celestia yelled before walking off the bus with Ricky after she heard all the men say it back.
Celestia pulled her hoodie over her head making sure no one saw her leaving the bus, before following Ricky.
“OK, so since it’s your first day, I’m going to have you doing some easy stuff, first I want you to help unload the crates with all the equipment, they are on wheels so it should be easy for you. Then once that’s done I need you to help get all the instruments out & on the right stands for each band member of each band. Ted the guitar tech will help you with that. Think you can handle that?” Ricky explained as they stood on the floor where the “mosh pit” would be as Celestia watched everyone doing their jobs already.
“Sir yes sir!” Celestia saluting her new boss
“Good, well hop to it girl!” Ricky said, laughing as she took off to start her first task
On the buses:
The guys of Avenged Sevenfold were just waking up & already giving each other hell.
Jimmy & Zacky were devising a plan to rudely wake Johnny up from his slump in his bunk while, Matt drank coffee to wake up & Brian was dosing in & out of slumber on the couch with a coffee cup in his hand.
“You drop that cup & burn your nuts you’re going to know it.” Matt grumbled observing his friend
“Suck it; you aren’t a morning person either.” Brian snapped taking a swig of coffee
“No but at least I wont burn my balls, hence the reason for the table.” Matt said knocking on the table his cup was sitting on.
“FUCK!!” Matt & Brian heard along with a loud crash, looking towards the back of the bus they saw Johnny on the floor holding his face while Jimmy & Zacky laughed at him. They had pulled him out of his bunk by his feet causing him to land on the floor face first.
“Morning Short Shit!” Jimmy said between laughs
“I hate you guys.” Johnny said sitting up
“No you don’t, you pussy…” Zacky said walking towards the front of the bus causing Johnny to kick at one of his tormentor’s legs.
“So what time is sound check?” Zacky asked sitting next to Brian
“I think our sound check is at 2:30pm.” Matt replied
“And what time is it now?” Jimmy asked, still screwing with Johnny
“9:45am…” Zacky said looking at his watch.
“What the hell? You mean to tell me you so RUDELY woke me up & we have nothing to do until sound check?” Johnny grumbled sitting across from Zacky & Brian on another couch.
“No you guys have stuff to do trust me…” the voice of their manager Dan called threw the bus upon his entering.
“Well give us the info Dan the man…” Jimmy said sitting next to Johnny
Dan gave off the list of everything each band member had to do. Some were going to do radio interviews for local radio stations; some were going to do local TV station interviews, the usual for a new tour that is this big.
“Well I guess me & Zacky are going to see who all has arrived, while Matt & Jacoby do their first interview & Jimmy & Johnny does whatever it is you do.”
“What? Why do I got to be stuck with Jimmy all day can’t we switch?” Johnny pleaded looking at the other guys.
“Aw I love you too my little garden gnome. Let’s go!” Jimmy said running off the bus to go to his & Johnny’s first local newspaper interview of the day.
“Don’t be late you guys! I got some calls to make; I’ll see you guys at sound check.” Dan said walking off the bus behind Johnny & Jimmy.
“Well let’s go, no time like the present.” Matt said as the rest of the members walked off the bus.
Matt met up with Vince Neil, Jacoby Shaddix & James Michael to do interviews while Johnny & Jimmy met up with Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Tobin Esperance & Tony Palmero to do their interviews, and last but not least Brian & Zacky met up with Mick Mars, Jerry Horton & DJ Ashba to do their interviews in the arena.
With the guitarists:
Brian & DJ weren’t really paying attention to the interview that was being conducted at that moment; they were too busy watching the roadies set up the stage. Until someone with the head guitar tech, Ted, caught both the men’s eye. A female, neither of them recognized her from either of their band’s previous tours, her smile seemed to light up the arena, her dark hair pulled into a low hanging pony tail down her back. They couldn’t see much more detail since they were all sitting up in the balcony while she & Ted were setting out the guitars & basses on the stage.
The interview ended & Mick went to ‘take a piss’ as he said. Leaving Brian, Zacky, and DJ & Jerry alone to converse amongst them selves.
“Hey Zacky, who is that girl?” Brian asked his friend, pointing to the girl working with Ted
“The fuck do I look like Google? I don’t know, why?” Zacky asked
“Dude she’s hot! At least from what I can see from up here.” DJ piped up
“You guys need to get a grip the first show isn’t even done yet & you’re already eye balling possible roadie pussy?” Jerry asked laughing at the guys
“Damn right.” Brian & DJ both said
“you two are hopeless.” Zacky said rolling his eyes, while scoping the girl out.
“She is sort of hot.” Jerry said
“I call dibs!” DJ said
“No fair dude, I saw her first!” Brian said
“Fine care to make a little wager?” DJ said crossing his arms over his chest
“OK what do you have in mind?” Brian asked
“I bet you 3 grand I can get in her panties before you can…”
Brian thought about it for a second before shaking DJ’s hand
“You’re on!”
Zacky just rolled his eyes & shook his head, when Mick came back & everything about the ‘bet’ talk was dropped.
Later on at Avenged Sevenfold sound check:
Celestia was still completely pumped on her first day, she didn’t know why; she guessed it was from the excitement of trying something new. She had finished up her tasks Ricky had given her, now she was at the sound board with Mike watching him work trying to get everything to sound perfect.
She had to admit it was cool seeing one of her favorite bands on stage, not performing, just doing random sound check, goofing off. Not a lot of people got to see that.
She was interrupted from her thoughts by another male voice talking to Mike; she sort of recognized it, when she looked over her shoulder she saw her father’s band mate, DJ Ashba talking to Mike
“And who is this?” Dj asked his eyes glued to Celestia’s back as she tinkered with something in front of her
“This is Celestia Montgomery, our newest roadie.” Mike said causing Celestia to turn & look into the beautiful crystal blue eyes of DJ
“Hi, nice to meet you, I’m DJ Ashba.” DJ said extending his hand which she shook.
“Hi, nice to meet you too, as Mike told you, I’m Celestia Montgomery.”
“A beautiful name for a beautiful woman.” DJ said still holding Celestia’s hand though his statement caused her to remove her hand from his grasp awkwardly
“Thank you but I don’t think I’m worthy of such a compliment.” Celestia said pushing past DJ before saying good bye to Mike.
DJ quickly followed her, stopping her in the ‘mosh pit’ area.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to offend you.” DJ said laying on his charm thick
“Its fine, I’m just not accustom to such compliments.” Celestia said shuffling her feet awkwardly, she did not like her father’s band mate, flirting with her; it was too risky for her liking.
“Well how long have you been a roadie?” DJ asked trying to get a conversation started
“Not long. Just started today.” Celestia replied feeling a cold chill up her spine as she got the feeling she was being watched & not just by DJ.
“Well I’m glad we got such a beautiful roadie, it will definitely make the tour go by quicker.” DJ said with a slight chuckle causing Celestia to laugh lightly & blush.
With Brian:
Brian wasn’t listening to his band mates, he kept his eyes on Celestia & DJ, and he had to do something to get her attention.
“Brian! Wake up!” Jimmy said beating him in the head with his drum sticks
“Ow, I’m awake, I’m awake, and I hear you guys!” Brian said smacking Jimmy’s hands away from his head.
“I think he’s got a hard-on for the new roadie.” Johnny said with a smirk before nodding his head in the direction of Celestia causing the guys to look at who he was talking about.
“Damn she is hot, but it looks like Ashba is already on the prowl.” Matt said causing Brian to grumble under his breath
“What was that Gates?” Zacky asked with a smirk
“Nothing, let’s just get this sound check over with.” Brian said walking over to his guitars, picking one up, they guys started sound check.
Brian never took his eyes off, DJ & Celestia, when he saw how awkward Celestia looked & how DJ made her blush & laugh lightly, he decided he needed to distract her from him. Smirking to himself, he started letting out a long, loud, guitar riff that made the guys look at him weird.
“Brian what the hell are you doing?” Matt yelled over the loud sound of Brian’s guitar with no response from the guitarist as his fingers played furiously
Brian looked up at Celestia who was staring at him, but her expression was hard to read. As for DJ he was shooting death glares at Brian, when Brian was satisfied with his work, he brought the riff to a close & winked at Celestia, who quickly walked off as Ricky called for her.
DJ flipped Brian off as Brian just offered an innocent smile to his adversary, before Matt smacked him in the back of the head.
“What the hell was that all about?” Matt asked kind of amused
“Nothing just getting warmed up.”
“Bullshit you never need to get ‘warmed up’ for anything.” Jimmy said
“I told y’all he has a hard-on for the new girl.” Johnny said tuning his bass
“I think you’re right Short Shit!” Zacky said looking at Brian with a knowing look
“Well now that you’re little show is over can we just get back to sound check?” Matt asked, earning an agreement from his band mates as they returned to their normal sound check.
