Welcome to the Family, Adrian!
Chapter Twenty Two
"Adrian!" Dad yelled through the door, pounding on it.
"Fuck off!" I yelled back.
"Adrian! Open the door, now!" He yelled again.
I groaned and walked over to the door, unlocking it, and walking back to my bed.
"Now, I told ou and Alex not to do anything." He started.
"I can't kiss my own fucking boyfriend?!" I yelled back.
"I, uh, uuhhgg," he groaned. "Adrian, listen."
"No." I started. "I was hoping this birthday was going to be the best I've had in years. I've never had parties, I've barely even had any gifts. You don't know what that's like. I grew up in a crappy home, getting used crap as a present from goodwill. The only time I had fun while on my birthdays through those years was when I was either at school with my friends or over at Alex's house. I grew up with a drunk for a mom. Living on my own for the past 10 years, five spent in a foster home, looking for your ass."
"I understa-" Dad started but, I cut him off.
"No you don't! You grew up with basically everything you wanted!"
"Adrian. Please just listen to me." He pleaded. "You're right. I don't understand. But, Jimmy has been in worse situations. He would understand where you're coming from. Talk to him if you don't want to talk to me. But, just know this. I didn't purposely leave you with your mom. I didn't even know your mom was pregnant with you."
"Figures. We lived in Washington for the first 5 years of my life. We moved to Huntington before I started kindergarten, where I met Alex."
"You and her have been here since you were 5?"
"Yeah but, if you saw her, you wouldn't recognize her. She gained weight, dyed her hair, and got a nose job before we moved here."
"Oh,"
"Yeah so, if you don't mind, I have a bed calling my name. Good night."
"Night Adrian."
He got up off my be where he had sat, and left, closin my door behind him.
I got into my pajamas and fell asleep.
"Fuck off!" I yelled back.
