Welcome to the Family, Adrian!
Chapter Twenty Three
I woke up at three in the morning, covered in sweat, from the nightmare I had just had.
-the nightmare-
I was walking down the road, it's eleven at night, not really my greatest idea but, I wasn't in the mood to call Dad for a ride.
Once I was about two blocks from home, I started hearing footsteps behind me. I turned to look but, nobody was there.
"What the fuck?" I breathed out.
I continued walking, faster now. I still heard those footsteps behind me.
"What's that?" I heard a raspy female voice call.
"Wha- who's there?" I called out loudly, looking around to find whoever it was that was talking.
"I'm your worst nightmare," she said, screaming(like the screaming that's in screamo songs) the word nightmare.
Before I could say anything else, I felt a hand on my forearm. I looked down and the hand had long talon like fingernails. The grip tightened and started to pull me back into an alley. I tried to pull away but, it was no use, it's too strong.
"Help!!" I yelled, trying to get someone to hear me.
"Nobody can help you, little one," she cooed in my ear, which sent shivers down my body. Wait, little one? Only one person ha called me that.
I turned my head to look at my captor.
"Mom?"
-end the nightmare-
"No," I shook my head. "How could she?"
I heard a knock on my door. Dads awake?
"Adrian? Are you okay?" I heard him ask through the door.
I walked over and opened it. I looked up at him and shook my head 'no'.
"What's wrong?" He asked, walking over to my bed and sitting down.
"I... I had a nightmare. My mom was in it. She... She was kidnapping me." I started to shake. I for know why this is so scary for me.
He pulled me into a hug," it's alright, she won't get you," he tried to calm me down.
"I was so scared." I said ino his chest.
"It'll be okay, little one," I freaked out more once he said that.
"No, no," I pushed him away and crawled over to The corner where my bed sits. "No,"
"Adrian," he came closer.
"No! Go away!" I yelled at him.
-Brian's POV-
"No! Go away!" She yelled at me, fear was present in her eyes. "Go away," she broke down crying.
I didn't know why else to do, so I complied with her request, and walked away.
I grabbed my phone and dialed Jimmy's number, hopefully he's awake and can help.
"Hello?" A sleepy sounding Jimmy answered.
"Jim, I need your help. Adrian, she had this nightmare about her mom. I tried calming her down an she freaked out more. I need your help. Right now she's broken down crying on her bed." I told him but, he never replied. "Jimmy?"
Moments later, the front door burst open and Jimmy ran up the stairs.
"Where is she?" He asked frantically.
"Her room," I pointed to the door that was cracked open.
"Don't worry, I'll fix this." He said, then scurried into her room.
-Adrian's POV-
I heard dad talking on the phone, I couldn't make out the words though. The front door burst open, an I freaked out. It can't be her. I herd Jimmy's voice, asking where I was.
"Hey buddy," he cooed as he walked into my room.
I just looked at him and nodded.
"What's wrong?" he asked as he say on my bed.
"I... I had a night... Nightmare," I spoke shakily. "My... Mom was i... In it..." I took a deep breath. "She was kid... Kidnapping me,"
"I see, why'd you get scared of your dad?" He asked, which made me freak out a little more as I recalled why I got scared of him.
I tried to talk but, all I could get out was "little one" and I started cryin again.
"Oh, my," he hugged me. "I'm going to go talk to your dad, okay?" I nodded and he went out of my room.
-Brian's POV-
Jimmy walked out of her room, a worried expression over his face.
"She told me about her nightmare but, all she said after that was the words "little one" which brings me to a question." He said.
Isighed and rubbed my hands across my face.
"Did you call her little one?"
