Chapter Twenty One
Matt stood there in shock. You could tell he was confused.
"Adrian? Brian?" She asked, shocked as well.
"What is going on?" Matt questioned.
"Valarie is my social worker, and a total bitch." I clarified.
"Adrian, listen, I'm sorry about the last time we were together," she tried to apologize.
"I don't care about your apologies! Your comments hurt! I know I don't show it very much but, I do get hurt! I do have feelings! You obviously couldn't see that!" I yelled. Alex had out his hand on my shoulder.
"Wait," Matt interjected. "Valarie, you're Adrian's social worker?"
"Yeah, why?" She asked.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He looked a little hurt.
"I didn't think about it. I mean I told you what I do for work. You haven't really told me much about the band." She said the last part quietly.
"Well, I guess there's not much for me to do now, why don't I just open my presents and everybody can go home?" I offered and went back to the living room.
Everybody just nodded in agreement and followed me to the living room.
I got some pretty awesome gifts, Zacky got me a new set of guitar picks and a couple band posters. Matt just have me money because he 'didn't know what you crazy teenagers like'. Jimmy got me a customized shirt that had a ninja duck on the back with 'Baby Gates' across the back and on the front it said 'Ninja Stallion Duck Fighter'. Johnny and dad got me joined gift, a new bass guitar, I had been wanting one for a while but, never got around to getting one. Nick and Bailey got me a stuffed hyena toy and 20 bucks. Alex said he would give me my gift later.
"Well thanks, everybody, for the gifts." I mustered up a slight smile.
There was a chorus of 'you're welcome's.
"well, it's 11, everybody should probably make their way home." Dad said, stretching.
"See ya. Adrian!" Nick and Bailey called as they walked out.
"Bye bass buddy!" Johnny called.
"Baaaiiii, Adriiiiiiaaaaaaaan!!!" Jimmy exclaimed as he pulled me into a huge hug.
"See ya later, alligator," Zacky called, the last to leave.
"Well you guys, you," Dad pointed to Alex. "Better leave by 11:45. Don't do anything. You guys got it?"
"Yes dad," I chuckled. "We get it! Night!"
"G'night Mr. Haner!" Alex called.
"Well?" I said, hinting towards the present Alex got me.
"Well what?" He said back.
"What the fuck did you get me do my birthday?"
"Oh!" He ran for the door.
"Oh, nice ass!" He was halfway in his car, his ass sticking out
"Thanks babe," he said from inside his car.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"Come here!" He grabbed my arm and pulled me into he car too.
"You bitch," I growled.
"Calm down and open this," he shoved a present bag towards me. I took it and climbed out and say on the grass.
"How much tissue paper did you put in here?" I asked as I threw a ball of paper at him.
"It's worth it, trust me."
By the time he said that, I had uncovered a shinedown shirt, a pair of purple and black tapers, and some purple and black metallic rings and studs, a Skillet CD.
"OH MY GOD!" I squealed and jumped at him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"There's more, look," he pointed to the bag. Which was now on it's side showing more tissue paper and three small boxes.
"Ooh!" I squealed again and grabbed the bag, pulling out the two boxes. I opened the longer one. It had a silver necklace on it, a small dream catcher with purple and black diamonds on it. "Oh my god," I opened up the slightly shorter box, In that was a bracelet with black and purple diamonds on it. "Alex..."
"Open up that lost box."
I did so, revealing a pair of black diamond studs. "Alex," I starts tearing up, I lunged at him wrapping my arms around his neck. I pulled away and kissed him deeply. That only lasted seconds due to the throat clearing we heard behind us.
"Adrian," I heard Dad say. God, I'm in for it.
"Hey, dad," I said as I turned around in Alex's embrace.
"I think it's time for Alex to leave." He stated.
"Okay," I said sadly and turned around, looking at Alex mischievously. "Bye Alex." I stepped up and placed a kiss on his lips once more.
"Bye, Adrian. " he said then left.
I grabbed my stuff, put it in the bag, and walked past Dad.
"Adrian, we need to talk." Dad said as I walked into my room. Without any words to him I slammed the door.
"Adrian? Brian?" She asked, shocked as well.
