A Shot In The Dark

Zacky’s POV

Shiloh and I sat around the living room going through spotify, luckily she had spotify premium, which I gotta admit was pretty fucking sweet. ‘Why don’t I have this? I’m one of the fucking artists,’ I thought to myself as she scrolled through classic metal/rock.

She tilted her head thoughtfully, her tounge sticking out a little bit, “You’re thinking way too hard about this babe,” I teased her.

She blushed and giggled, “Sorry, just couldn’t decide if I should put in some Bon Jovi or not, you guys don’t really seem like the Bon Jovi type.”

I laughed softly, “Yeah, I don’t know how the guys would react to that, but if you wanna put a few songs in there, then feel free. They put us in charge of music, they don’t like it then they shouldn’t have put us in charge of it.”

She smiled and nodded adding about 10 Bon Jovi songs, ‘Oh lord, my ears are gonna be bleeding, but she’s so excited about this.’ I thought to myself and leaned in slightly, my breath tickling her neck. “What about some Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Misfits?”

She lit up and went to search, typing in Iron Maiden, “That’s a good idea, fuck I’m so selfish, I hadn’t even thought of those.”

I laughed softly, “You’re not selfish, you love music. You don’t judge boundaries of music styles. I dig it.”

Shiloh looked into my eyes and smiled, “I dig you Zacky.” I couldn’t help but smile as she leaned in and pressed her lips to mine.

I held her there, kissing her more passionate as the door banged open, “PORN!” Jimmy yelled jokingly.

I groaned and pulled away as Shiloh buried her head into my shoulder, “Thanks asshole,” I chuckled at Jimmy and flipped him off.

Jimmy feigned offense and then whined towards Shiloh, “SHIIII, I’m not an asshole am I?”

She grinned an ornery glint in her eyes, “I don’t know, you do have brown hair Jimmy.”

“What does that have to do with anything?!” Jimmy shrieked.

She giggled, “I don’t know, it really doesn’t make sense outloud. So no, you’re not an asshole Jimmy.”

“That’s what I thought,” he nodded matter-of-factly and looked at me sticking out his tongue.I rolled my eyes and went back to looking through music with Shi.

About an hour and a half later, we had everything set up. There were 100 solo cups in a circle, some had guiness, some had jack, some had crown, etc. We had 6 different types of alcohol a mix of beers and liquor.

“Alright fuckers, here’s how the game’s played,” Jimmy shouted getting everyone’s attention. “We’re gonna have it work like regular truth or dare. Someone’s gonna pick someone and they’re gonna throw a ball if it lands in beer it means dare, if it lands in liquor it means truth.”

“Shouldn’t it be the opposite way?” Johnny asked thoughtfully.

“No, I get it.” I said cutting Jimmy off, “the more drunk we get the more the truths will fall out. Liquor gets you drunk faster so if you have to take a drink before you tell the truth, more likely to actually tell the truth.”

“EXACTLY! See? I knew she was a good pick,” Jimmy smiled pride shining out of his pores.

“Alright, alright, alright, let’s get going,” Val insisted, ignoring the shared looks between Matt and Brian.

“I’ll go first,” Brian volunteered bravely.

“Deal, but I get to decide your fate,” Jimmy said evilly.

Brian shot the ping pong ball and it landed in the guiness, “Fuck.”

“Muwahahahaha,” Jimmy let out, “Let’s see Syn, maybe I should make you sin?”

“Ughhh,” Brian groaned, “Just get on with it Jimbo.”

“Alright, I dare you to let Shi sit on your lap for ten minutes and tease her,” Jimmy grinned evilly. His eyes locking eyes with mine.

I tensed as Shi gave me an apologetic look moving towards Brian, “Geez Jimmy, make it impossible why don’t you,” Brian winked my way and I knew he wasn’t going to do much to her.

“Shi, you’re up baby girl,” Brian said softly against her ear once she was settled.

She shivered and I felt my jaw clench shut, “Alright,” she took her shot and it landed in Crown.

“Ooooh, let me think,” Brian sat for a moment, “Alright, so how was the sex? Good?”

“Brian you douche,” Matt joked with him.

She blushed and nodded looking into my eyes, at that moment I knew all I wanted to do was protect that girl. “It was amazing, the best of my life.”

I smirked, I couldn’t help it as Johnny grabbed my shoulder shaking it as everyone started whooping and hollering.

We played for about two hours, then all the liquor was almost gone, it was my last shot. I threw and it landed in the last cup of Jack Daniels and it was Val asking the question. “Take it easy on him Valley,” Shiloh smiled drunkenly from my side.

Val smirked, “Oh don’t worry Shi, It’ll be almost painless.”

‘Fuck, I know whats coming. I fucking know what she’ll ask, and I have to tell the truth,’ I thought drunkenly to myself. “Are you wanting to be exclusive with Shiloh even though you haven’t been exclusive with a woman since Gina.”

I froze as she said Gina’s name. The divorce wasn’t final, I knew that, but I hadn’t explained any of this to Shiloh. I glared at Val, “Yes, I believe that once Shi and I know each other better, that I could see us being together exclusively.”

“Aww baby,” Shiloh said affectionately, “Wait…who’s Gina?”

“Annnnd that’s the end of the game!” Jimmy screeched noticing that all the cups were empty. “We need more booze!” Brian stood, “I’ll go get some, Vengeance you wanna ride with?”

“Yeah, I’ll go,” I stood up then kissed Shiloh’s forehead, “I’ll be right back babe.”

She nodded slightly still processing, or trying to but was distracted by Johnny and Jimmy picking on Matt by pouring a small amount of alcohol on his head.

When we got out to Brian’s truck, we got in and he started to the gas station up the street, “So…I take it you haven’t had that talk with the girl yet?” Brian asked as he drove.

“No,” I answered honestly looking out the window, “I haven’t gotten to the point where it’s been necessary to.”

“Better tell her quick V,” Brian stated, “If I know Val, and I do…she’ll tell Shiloh before too long. She would never let a friend be in a relationship that was dishonest. You know that, she’s done that for us a million times over.”

“Yeah, I know, soon.” I said softly as he pulled into the store.
